My laptop is currently getting fixed, and as I enjoy surfing the Web in bed, I was wondering if there were any good stands or shelves for me to rest it on in comfort.

You know, I've noticed something about those positions...

aside from the two in the middle at the bottom, none of those are very good for masturbation.

I love these things, they're so useful and just the right size for laptops. And they're built so sturdy you won't ever mess it up.

memegenerator.com has a script for Greasemonkey. Sounds kinda fun:

Now, if only there was a script for that site that stopped error messages from coming up every fucking time I try to type a single fucking letter.

I've noticed that pretty much everything else of the 4chan add-on works since I upgraded to the latest version of FireFox; I can't hide threads, I can't select threads I want to watch, the filter is there but is doing jack shit... oh, and I can't Quick Reply either.

On the other hand, the ability to resize the message box is neat, if mostly pointless.

Right now I'm using two free programs to protect my computer and keep it safe and working properly. Those are Avast! Free Antivirus and Iobit's Advanced SystemCare. Avast! does a great job warning me about dangerous stuff and helping me when I don't heed those warnings, but I'm beginning to think that Advanced SystemCare really, really sucks. I'd like to replace it with something that does the same things better, like deleting my privacy traces and automatically defragging the hard drive. Could anyone suggest some good, free programs that do these things? And if there's something better than Avast!, I'd like to hear about that, too.

I decided to switch over too because I'm one of those weird types of people who like my privacy. I know what there is no such thing as complete privacy online, but it's better than Google as far as privacy goes. Haven't had any errors like the guy above me and search results seem better.

I've been using Ixquick for privacy. Is DDG much better?
>> No. 3206
>>3205
It looks like the only major difference between DDG and Ixquick is that if I'm interpreting this right, Ixquick logs a small amount of the user agent info when you visit the site. DDG says they don't log that. Other than that, they appear pretty much the same. DDG's privacy policy even suggests Ixquick as an alternative privacy-conscious search tool.

Maybe try doing some exercises to build those muscles. Or just take a break when your body can't handle it and repeat.

I might have tried the plank before but it was a long time ago and didn't remember what it felt like. So I tried it just now, and my shoulders seem to give away way before my legs. All I could feel was a little burning in my "delicious buns". Where about do they go numb?

>an uptick in Mac-friendly programs, so that might be cleared up in 3-5 years.
Yeah, I think there might've been. I only switched this year, but there are only a handful of programs I haven't been able to find Mac alternatives for. The bigger problem I've found is that stuff that would be free on PC is often a paid application on Macs. Not a lot of money--like $5-15 or something for most. But it's the principle of the thing.

Still, Scrivener alone has made it worth switching for me. Yeah, there's a Windows version in the works, but it's missing a lot of the best functions of the Mac version. I've been able to find stuff to read .cbr's/.cbz's as well, although mostly I do that stuff as well as playing my emulated games and watching videos on my tablet now rather than my mac. My mac is mostly just for working on projects these days.

I do wish I could make Paint Tool Sai or Scite work on this machine though. Sai runs in Wine, but the tablet drivers don't work with Wine apps on Mac as near as I can tell, which defeats the purpose. I imagine there must be a way to make Scite work, since I think it's open source and probably pretty portable, but I haven't been able to be buggered to do it yet. I don't do much programming these days anyway, and I can always just VNC into my Linux box and do it there if I really need to.

Is there some free IRC client that's actually free and not just like 30 days which they forget to mention openly?

I mean, xChat and mIRC are awesome, when they aren't shutting you off because they want you to pay 20 bucks for it.

So I know you guys probably get questions like these all the time, but let me start off: I AM NOT ASKING FOR A PC BUILD(not now anyways. )

I am getting 1800 dollars coming to me at the end of April to spend on what I would like, out of the 1500 I was thinking of investing about 1100 into a new PC.

However, I mean I THINK my build is pretty good. Right now I have: Intel DG33TL motherboard with a Q6700 Quad core processor clocked at 2.7 ghz each. I have 2 gbs of ram (I know this has to change), and a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT. 120 GB HDD, which I will also change.

Is it worth it to invest so much in a new PC, or would I be better off just getting more Ram, maybe a better graphics card, and a bigger HDD?

TL;DR: Just want to know if it's better to upgrade a intel dg33tl with q6700 processor, 2 gigs of ram, nvidia 9800 gt, or buy a new pc altogether.

>> No. 3105
Anybody?
>> No. 3106
I'd focus on replacing the GPU and the HDD first. RAM is less of a priority, IMO. I rarely use more than 2 of my 4 gigs.

I have been searching for a particular software with the ability to find corrupted images or files in general (But my priority are images), since this kind of things always come up everytime one recovers something from a backup or when a major error happens; I was wondering if anyone know of an efficient program able to do that work. I have used Bad Peggy for a long time, but it's outdated and I want see if there are other better options.

Haven't used it, personally. But as has already been pointed out in this thread, the rule of thumb is that if it's not a Wacom you're throwing your money away.

How many levels of pressure can it distinguish between?

So this is a thread I would have made had it not been here

Having read >>2284 it seems like the best choice for me would be the $800 XL Intuos4 because it has a tracing screen for traditional media, but if I'm gonna spend that much should I just bump it up to the thousand dollar Cintiq?
