>>3115 >an uptick in Mac-friendly programs, so that might be cleared up in 3-5 years. Yeah, I think there might've been. I only switched this year, but there are only a handful of programs I haven't been able to find Mac alternatives for. The bigger problem I've found is that stuff that would be free on PC is often a paid application on Macs. Not a lot of money--like $5-15 or something for most. But it's the principle of the thing.
Still, Scrivener alone has made it worth switching for me. Yeah, there's a Windows version in the works, but it's missing a lot of the best functions of the Mac version. I've been able to find stuff to read .cbr's/.cbz's as well, although mostly I do that stuff as well as playing my emulated games and watching videos on my tablet now rather than my mac. My mac is mostly just for working on projects these days.
I do wish I could make Paint Tool Sai or Scite work on this machine though. Sai runs in Wine, but the tablet drivers don't work with Wine apps on Mac as near as I can tell, which defeats the purpose. I imagine there must be a way to make Scite work, since I think it's open source and probably pretty portable, but I haven't been able to be buggered to do it yet. I don't do much programming these days anyway, and I can always just VNC into my Linux box and do it there if I really need to.
