I finally got around to reading this series. Goddamn, I love it. I sort of spoiled it for myself though, a year or so ago I couldn't get my hands on anything but the third and I can't help but regret reading it then.The Starks are the fucking best (but Tyrion is great too). Spoiler tags, please.

One was for Joffrey, who thankfully died before he ever really used it, and the other was for Jaime who had become awesome by then so he named it Oathkeeper and gave it to Breanne of Tarth to help her fulfill her oath to Katelyn Stark.

I used to write horrible Sailor Moon fanfiction. I was a kid and hey, it was fun and helped me discover my love for writing.
In elementary school I wrote terrible Gargoyles fanfiction complete with a blue Mary Sue gargoyle named Blade.I was the nerdiest second grader.

I have a hard time justifying spending my time reading fanfiction, so I've never actually read anything good, or anything that was more than a few pages of horrible awful shockingly gross/terribad for the lulz.

Things kind of snowball into one gigantic hilarious mess that winds up involving pretty much every main character in the show. I have a hard time picking up books these days. When I was on vacation last month I was just devouring The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, but after I got home I just couldn't get back into it. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it before the school year rolls around again.
People only seem to read books if they're given a lot of press coverage. My mother started reading the Millennium Trilogy books, mostly because of the film.
I didn't but, I don't know any of my friends who don't read, plus working in a bookshop helps.

I tried looking at a few of the bad reviews for Discworld books, but most of them were either complaints about the audiobook or they fell to the Final Fantasy "This one isn't my favorite of the series so it sucks" syndrome. Nothing all that rageworthy.

A lot of authors these days just aren't well known to generations. A poet who garnered most attention with her love poems~, her worker rivaled other contemporary poets of her time in it's elegant, beautiful mannerisms and subtle notes.She wrote some good stuff you guys.I found her rummaging through a library in New Mexico, under a cramped corner stack of musty old poem logs. Her book, A Tree of Night, was one of the most pleasing surprises I've encountered, and I realized that most people will never know of madame' Teasdale. She was never quite renown in her own time, and her work hasn't garnered any substantial representation elsewhere. This is a shame.
C. L. Moore. She's basically the mother of the sword-wielding warrior woman in modern fantasy, yet I only heard of her thanks to a recent publication of her stories about Jirel of Joiry, titled Black God's Kiss. It's one of my absolute favorite reads, yet I might never have heard of her.

Whether do to language barriers, rarity, prohibitive price, etc.I'd be quite interested in reading Alraune by Hanns Heinz Ewers. It's not impossible to find, but it's usually a tad out of my price range. Copies in the original German seem to be less expensive on average, but I can scarcely say more than "Good morning" in that language.Another I'd like to read is the Dictionnaire Infernal. Until recently, it was nigh impossible to find the book, but a recent French edition has made the book available at a modest price. Again though, language is a barrier.
I can't find Neuromancer anywhere.Bookstores are also loaded with books that people wrote about writers/philosophers/scientists/etc. But I can barely find anything written BY any of these people
