http://iwl.me/Results seem to vary from story to story, at least for me. My results included Ray Bradbury and Stephen King.
First try was Vladimir Nabokov. Okay, I can deal with this.
>James JoyceHurr
Alright, let's see what this old Gaang Jr. story of mine gets...>Chuck PalahniukWho the heck is Chuck Palahniuk?>the guy who wrote Fight ClubHuh. Honestly, I think I had been going for a Terry Pratchett vibe in that one.
I got William Gibson on the start of a novel I wrote some months back. One can do a lot worse than the man that invented Cyberpunk, In my humble opinion. So, who feel like trying to emulate different authors and see If you can fool the program?
"Marble AdonisSparkleVampire"...produced Stephanie Meyer. Who knew.
Stephen King....What? I pasted an essay on mercury in seafood. How the hell?
>>5061Pollution can be really scary sometimes.
Ursula K. Le GuinNever read anything she's written, though I know the Earthsea books to be famous. It'd be intriguing if the site showed the results of the analysis in more detail, instead of just saying the writer. Like, why do I write like her, and how is it that she even writes as such. What kind of words and sentence structures and so on are used.
I gave it that Jack the Giant Killer story I wrote for a SYM thread a while back. Apparently I write like Isaac Asimov.imokaywiththis.jpg
Margarat Atwood?wat mean?
>read about Atwood.......don't think I like this. No sir, don't like it.
I apparently write like H.P. Lovecraft. Having read his work, I can't say I'm entirely comfortable with this.
Dan Brown. I don't know how to feel about this.
I got James Joyce from a thing I wrote that has this excerpt:>"Is that" the demon seemed scared, "the Sword of Kildemaul?">"It is." Ripley toyed with the sword, killing pieces of the air with each test swing.>"But... it had been said to be lost to the ages innumerable!">"Innumerable isn't a problem," began Ripley, "I can count pretty high."I checked my travel blog and got H.P. Lovecraft.Checked my current blog and I'm David Foster Wallace.Hmm.
I just tried to trick it, and apparently Cordwainer Smith writes like David Foster Wallace.
I tried four different pieces and got David Foster Wallace, Mary Shelley, Vladimir Nabokov, then Ursula K. Le Guin. What the Christ is this supposed to mean?
Stephen King or Dan Brown depending on the piece. The code to post the results on other sites comes up as James Joyce.
>>5059Just copy/pasting "chagrin" several times does too.
... Cory Doctorow, apparently.
First with my earliest piece my roll was David Foster Wallace, then I got Cory Doctorow. Meh. Then used my most recent piece and I rolled Raymond Chandler. Fuck yeah.
Now to test my story where I deliberately ripped off Chuck Palahnick....Cha-ching.
>>5124... But wait. I actually reference his name several times. Let me change that to Greg Smith....H.P. Lovecraft? What the fuck?
>"John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn’t see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.>John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad “I want to be on the ships daddy.”>Dad said “No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS”>There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons.>“This is Joson” the radio crackered. “You must fight the demons!”>So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the wall.>“HE GOING TO KILL US” said the demons>“I will shoot at him” said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.>“No! I must kill the demons” he shouted>The radio said “No, John. You are the demons”>And then John was a zombie."
>copy and paste The Raven>HP Lovecraft
>Hi my name is Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way and I have long ebony black hair (that’s how I got my name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Amy Lee (AN: if u don’t know who she is get da hell out of here!). I’m not related to Gerard Way but I wish I was because he’s a major fucking hottie. I’m a vampire but my teeth are straight and white. I have pale white skin. I’m also a witch, and I go to a magic school called Hogwarts in England where I’m in the seventh year (I’m seventeen). I’m a goth (in case you couldn’t tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching lace around it and a black leather miniskirt, pink fishnets and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and red eye shadow. I was walking outside Hogwarts. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.>James Joyce
>shitty Toy Story 3 fanfic written this afternoon>Mark TwainI am so more than okay with this is hurts.
>>5139 Short sentences riddled with vulgarity? Yup.>>5061 >How the hell? It's not looking at the content of the writing. Computer programs aren't that smart. It's looking at phrasing and sentence structures.I've noticed that works that depend heavily on dialouge, espcially where two characters get 'broken up' focus, tends to get William Shakespeare and J. K. Rowling as their style. Which makes sense.
>Post part of a 42 page story I'm working on>Ian FlemingWHAT?!
