>>9708I've recently started rewatching it starting from johto, where I left off originally. Pokemon as a show is pretty bad compared to other anime, but I realized that it has its merits too. It fleshes out the pokemon world way more than the games can by themselves. Most notably, it establishes how attacks might look if they were performed in real time, as well as how the pokemon would sound in my imagination (voice acting > electronic buzzing).This fleshing out is probably why my list of all-time favorite pokemon are mostly gen 1, with nothing from gens 3 and 4. In watching the anime again, the hope is that I can grow to like the new pokemon in the same way I did with the old.
Honestly I want to see both Male and Female Protagonists have their own show for once. Keep the other characters not involved in Black and White out for half a season and let them have their own adventure without being trapped in Ash's perpetual failure.
