pokemon you want to see in the next genI really want:a turkey pokemona squid pokemona pokemon that looks like a samuraia fire/water salamandera "missingo" pokemon thats only flying and learns fly, brave bird and watergun.
>>3197>turkey pokemonDo want. Hell, we could have swan and goose also. Guinea fowl...toucans. (we have owls, pigeons, crows, starlings, pelicans and swallows, so why not?)And terror birds! Why not? We have mammoth, pterasaur, and dinosaurs pokemon! And more bug types. A bug-water that doesn't suck. Bug dark black widows! Electric-bug fireflies!
Ice/steel.
A dune-worm style pokémon.
an Onix pre-evo. and a Bigfoot Pokemon.
A fire/dragon type, followed by banning that Pokemon in competition play.
DOLPHIN.Somehow, in all the water-types we have, we still don't have a freakin' dolphin Pokemon!
>>3200I'd warn about a *4 weakness to fire. But there are no fire types!
Pistol shrimp.>>3209The Fighting type weakness is far worse.
>>3198We have a toucan. Unless Chatot is supposed to be a finch.I'd really like some manner of Normal/Ghost Pokemon. Maybe as an evo to Girafarig.
>>3211Chatot is a parrot.
>>3213...Yeah, I just realized that. Mah bad. I was actually just about to correct my post.
More awesome Steel-type combinations.
>>3222Steel/fire?

>>3222steel/ghostlike a haunter armour POKeMON
A fire type. :D
Dust devil.Though there are probably better designs than this, this is more or less DIARRHEA: THE POKEMON
More farm animals.
More Monkeys and Gorillas. More dogs. More Dinosaurs. And robot-esque ones.
A Polar bear starter, or just a polar bear pokemon.
bacteria Pokemon
I want a Grass Buffalo, a pinata pokemon, and ..... a MANTIS SHRIMP.
>>3286There was a thread on /v/ a looooooong time ago about the idea of a Pokemon-esque game where you catch viruses and STDs instead of Pokemon.Stem Cells would be like Eevees.Starters would be Cold, Flu, Pneumonia.Legendaries would be HIV and AIDS.Mega Legendary would be Lupus.Cute Legendary would be Ebola.Etc.
a fly or a mosquito. in that vein, more useful bug-types.more mammalian starters. I'm getting tired of reptiles and birds.a manticore or gryphon.a kangaroo. not Kangaskhan, something that's a fighting-type.less emphasis on legendaries when it comes to plot. more emphasis on the evil team wrecking shit. crimes against pokemon could work, like what Rocket was doing with the Slowpoke Tails and the Lake of Rage.
I want another bat pokemon.
>>3355
A fighting LegendaryA Poison LegendaryA Bug LegendaryA Psychic/Dark LegendaryA pure flying type PokemonA Fire/Ghost PokemonA Water/Ghost Pokemon
A fire ant pokemonA water dog pokemonA pokemon based on a maple leaf
>>3229Ghost-Steel, with Levitate. Ghost in the Machine!
Did someone say Ghost/Steel? Kitsunoh gets my vote for being made a reality.
Lion PokemonPeferably fire type, like a feline Arcanine.
>>3513Like this but less derpy?
>>3209Hey, I'm okay with X4 weaknesses. We all know that not every pokemon can shine and be useful. a lot of them are totally broken just because of their types and the skills available to them.An ice/steel would be mostly for aesthetic value. Sure you could counter it. But ya know, a brittle steel/ice type Narwhal would be cool metal awesome.
Bug/FireBombardier Beetle - Seems obvious, don't you think.Grass/GhostJack-o-lantern - Come on, right? Right?Water/FightingMantis ShrimpWater/SteelPistol ShrimpWater/PsychicDolphinStarters....A Fire/Steel Chinese-style dragonA Water/Ice Polar BearA Grass/Psychic Orangutan
>>3643>Water/Steel>Pistol ShrimpReading that made my insides do a happy dance.
Think of all the awesome Aussie animals they haven't used yet. They could make a mini-Australia if they wanted. Mostly I want a flying fox pokemon, so we don't have another five golbat-filled caves.I want a manlier "cleric" pokemon. Something that's not pink and doesn't perpetually walk on tiptoe. A St. Bernard, something that specializes in rescue. He'd be a great ice dog to complement Arcanine.Finches! A game with so much evolution ought to have finches.
>>3646>Mini-AustraliaToo many Poison-types.
Oh, how's this: a counter to the Lunar Duo Cresselia and Darkrai. A Pokemon embodying the life and warmth of the sun's rays, and one embodying the destruction and strength of a giant fucking nuclear reactor.
>>3648If I could have a poison/fire salamander-looking Pokemon, I will die happy.
>>3651...It's like if a grubworm had a baby with an angry penis.
>>3643 If a new Water/Fighting type is to exist, it should be a Siamese fighting fish. But I like the rest of those, especially the orangutan.
>>3660
>Implying the next water/fighting type shouldn't totally be Boxter the boxing lobster Pokemon and its evolutions Punchlob and Crushtacean.
>>3663We already have a boxer though.
>>3663.... i want this so much.
An Indian Elephant Pokemon. The Gen 1 Pokedex loved to abuse Indian elephants by using them as test subjects for various Pokemon attacks. There must be retribution, and one day, an Indian elephant will take a stand, say "THAT IS ENOUGH" in elephant speak, learn some Pokemon attacks, and stomp the shit out of that Raichu. No, Donphan & Phanpy aren't sufficient. We need an elephant Pokemon that's actually BIG.
>>3673>The Gen 1 Pokedex loved to abuse Indian elephants by using them as test subjects for various Pokemon attacks.
>>3676 Careless contact with a Raichu can shock an Indian elephant into unconsciousness. A Gastly can topple an elephant within seconds with its enveloping fumes.I'm sure there are others.
I still want a genuinely scary bug Pokemon. Like shit-your-pants oh-god-i-think-it-sees-me terrifying. I vote for a Camel Spider type. It's like some hellish combination of a spider, a scorpion, and all things wrong with the universe.
>>3680I should really sort this fucking folder one day.
>>3681>>3680I like the first one better.Man, Beedrill could be this if its stats weren't so terrible. I EV train'd the shit out of this guy just to make him usable, and even then he only lives long enough to throw some poison spikes on the floor.
>>3683I maxed mine out on every kind of vitamin and took him all the way to the Elite Four. Granted he was fucking level 84 while the rest of my team was 50-60ish. But still. Also I taught it Thief and that helped a lot. Those are MY Leftovers now, bitch.
A FUCKING GORGEOUS COLORFUL BUG-TYPE MOTH POKEMON THAT CAN LEARN FLYPLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU I WANT TO RIDE THIS SO MUCH IT IS SO PRETTY AND FUZZY OH GOD
Look at this guy. Look him in the eye and tell him you wouldn't want him to be your fuzzy flying sky buddy.
>>3690>>3691
A water/steel type.
Also, a Water/Dark that's a lovecraft reference.
>>3673true faks: Big Ass Elephants have learned to sneak up quietly on villages, knock on the doors and then grab and throw humans that answer them. Then they go back into the forest.lolItrunku.
>>3692Uguu~<3
It can glow, it's got powerful eyes, it can break fish tanks with a single snap of it's claw. Plus it's a legitimate excuse for having a Bug/Water type. What is holding our mantis shrimp friend back?
>>3761Isn't Anorinth based on it?
>>3762Nah, I thought he was some prehistoric arthropoid thingy.Fuck yeah, mantis shrimp!
>>3761Not to mention it's fucking beautiful.
Fire/WaterIt shoots suns. Fucking SUNS.
I would LOVE a squid...! A squid to ride on and stuff. I don't want a Tentacruel, they're too... Jellyfish-y. I'd want a baby squid, probably something cute and round like a Spheal, and it could sit on my head and walk with me as its a baby. And when it evolves, it's like the size of a Gyarados and I can ride it up waterfalls and people would be like, scared shitless of it's barbed tentacles. <3It could be like, Water-Dark (like a Sharpedo) or Ice-Dark or something.
Peacock, evolved version of Spinda that looks like a big, fwuffy panda, chinchilla. And pretty much all the colorful animals in this thread.>>3822Cuddlefish!
An evolution of Luvdisc that makes it useful. No, really, Magikarp can at least evolve into Gyarados. Luvdisc's entire moveset looks like it's setting up for something awesome. Actually Luvdisc looks like it was supposed to evolve into Gorebyss.
on second thought, i also want a legitimate bat pokemon, like dark flying and actually looks like a batgolbat and crobat don't cut it
>>3857
Come on. Big goofy paws, ridiculously tiny head, freakishly huge tail, this things perfect for Pokemon. Just give it a mane and call it Leosnow.
>>3807I already suggested that, though I didn't think of it being a Fire/Water type (good idea, btw).
THIS
>>3934Yes! This!
Dark-type, evil looking Giant panda.
>>3683I always wanted a fourth evolution for Beedrill.Drillqueen.
A paras without the shroom. Acording to the pokédex paras is a coconut crab, imagine to evolve it into a insect/fighting crusher of sculls instead of a mindles husk
>>4077That sounds more like it could work better as a divergent evolution.
>>4078I want it just because it's so sad how you bond with this tiny little paras, then it evolves and the mushroom basically kills your best friend.Maybe have a Flame Orb equipped while leveling up so the mushroom gets burned off?
>>3807divergent Remoraid evolution
>>3824DAUOAH OMG YES CUTTLE FISH <3 >>3934AND YES TO RED PANDAS. But they're so cute looking, they might make it a common-thing, like....Bidoof. </3It seems if there's one thing this thread agrees on, it's a water/????
>>4107I've had about enough of Water-types. They're the second most prevalent type, behind Normal.
>>4109 Actually, they're THE most prevalent type, with 92 species. That's 19% of all Pokemon. Normal has 80 species.More spiders would be nice. A tarantula or camel spider, or one of those funnel-web beasts.
>>4077too similar to vespiqueen, just make a male evolution for combee or have male beedrill evolve into kingdrone or something like that
Yeah, it's cliche, but I'd like to see a Pegasus evolution for Rapidash.Gryphon and gorgon Pokemon would be great too.
>>4117>male KakunaBreaking the rules and having an evolution line with four points is silly, I think.
How about another snake pokemon? Psychic/ground.Or a gliding snake? Grass/flying. Make it a colorful tribute to Quezcoatyl.
>>4123Or archaeopteryx.
>>4123 >Psychic/Ground snake
>>4107They shouldn't be common, seeing as they're so rare irl (although Spinda are fairly common in Gen 3, so idk). >>4123Yes! Snakes! I love Arbok, but he's stuck in NU. Maybe a King Cobra third-stage for him? Something based on Sheshnaga, maybe?
>>4140You just reminded me how surprised I am that there's no hydra Pokemon.
>>4151(Polite sage for double post)Also, how about a ground/fire type based off of cartoony bombs?Starts off as a stick of dynamite, evolves into either a bomb, a TNT plunger, or a rocket.
>>4152 Bomb Pokemon, you say?
>>4154
>>4155
>>4155>>4154The fuse is sort of eh as a Pokemon, pretty bland. But I like it, mostly; seems like a divergent Voltorb. With some tweaking, it could be a fun species.>>4156And now it just looks awful.
How about some divergent Scyther evolutions, being that he is basically a Praying Mantis?Orchid Mantis type if female.
>>4161Spiny Flower Mantis for, I dunno, high SP Def or Sp Atk?
>>4161That thing is both beautiful and horrifying. It would be perfect as a Pokemon.
>>4164Blue Wing Mantis for Atk/Spd/Def.
>>4165Why thank you. I do rather have kind of a thing for bugs.
Is it too much to ask for a pokemon with a bush for an afro? I'd kill for that.
Could we please have a third-stage for Ninetales that's actually *usable*. I love Ninetales, but like too many first gen firetypes she's stuck in NU. Maybe a fire-ghost kind?
maybe starts as a water/bug type evolves into water/flying
>>4174But we already have a Pokemon that does exactly that.
>>4176I really wish Surskit didn't evolve into that. Bug/Flying is WAY TOO COMMON.
A normal/dark Zebra? Fire/Grass Chili Pepper pokemon?
>>4177Yes. Want moar bug/water. Preferably a beetle-looking thing.
>>4191For Fire/Grass I always thought of like a brushfire pokemon. Have like an Oddish like first stage that is plain Grass type, with a lot of dead/dry grass on it's head, then a second stage that's partly on fire, then a third stage that's engulfed in flame (and constantly screaming!)
It's called the Bat Flower but I think it would make a cute fire/grass type. Maybe combine it with a vegetable of some sort. Like a Ghost Pepper.
>>4220...Didn't those get featured a lot in Jumanji?
To be honest, I'd rather see a Fire/Poison pokemon before a Fire/Water or a Fire/Grass pokemon.Anyone got any ideas on how that could work?
>>4221The flowers in Jumanji didn't exist. There's no flower on the planet that shoots poison darts or pulls you in with vines.>>4223Fire/Poison. They already made a Turtle fire type, so how about a flaming Dart Frog?
Book/Mythological animals, anyone?Cheshire Cat => Coeurl Dark/NormalJabberwocky Dragon/PsychicWould make a nice legendaryExcalibur (A living sword pokemon, come on)Psychic
>>4228>Excalibur (A living sword pokemon, come on)>PsychicWhy should it be Psychic? There are already way too many Psychic legendaries (really, WHY is Lugia a Psychic type?) and we only have two pure Steel types at all.
>>4230Because Psychic is the catch-all term for mysterious powers. Steel/Psychic makes some more sense, as a compromise, but a Steel type would be best; but why just a living sword? Why not combine that idea with something else and get a real monster out of it?
>>4228Combine that dragon thing with a hornet and let's see if we can get Jabberwaspy rolling.
A water/steel pokemon based on a squid that evolves differently depending on its stat distribution:Attack/Sp. Attack as dominant stat causes it to evolve into a cuttlefish pokemon with high speed and attack but abysmal defence.Defense/Sp. Defense as the dominant stat causes it to evolve into a nautilus pokemon with high defense and attack but abysmal speedIf neither attack nor defense is dominant it evolves into an octopus pokemon with a balance between stat distribution.
An Steel type evolution for Sudowoodo that looks like an aluminum Christmas tree.
>>4510"Foebaum"Steel/ Rock250 lbs.4'11"The Ornament pokemonThe leafy covering on it body is actually made of hard steel. It can withstand the harsh elements thanks to its armor.
>>4524
>>4228The living sword could be it's starting form, maybe it evolves into an empty suit of armor, but that seems rather uncreative. How about a fox with a sword on it's tail(maybe that could be the steel type Eevee)
>>4524Wow that thing would get super fucked by an Earth or Fighting type.
We need more sharks.
Moar Dinosaurs.Especially pic muthafuggen related.
>>4625That is a HATERS GONNA HATE strut if I've ever seen one.
>>4223Take a venomous snake/lizard pokemon, and make it breath fire. It might make a good evolution for Seviper (I'd prefer a dark/poison evolution for it) or Arbok.
>>4200A back-swimmer or water boatman would be a perfect water/bug.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BackswimmerI think there is a bug that shoots acidic spray at its predators, that could work well as a fire/fire. An assassin bug as a dark/bug? Really, there are so many insects and other insect-like invertebrates to work with. I don't know why there aren't more bug types, especially when some animal types get reused (I thought Minun and Plusle were alternate versions of pikachu when I saw them.)
>>4109I'm down with more steel types IMO.
>>4464Squids are much more violent than Cuttlefish, Octopi, or nautaluses (Nautalese? Nautali?), I'd make the squid the attack-dominant one.Pic related, a Colossal Squid tentacle.
>>4649Whoawhoawhao wait. Is that.. claws? on a tentacle? So Giant squids aren't just 16 meters long super strong 10 armed sea monsters, but also equipped with rows of sharp spikes? That's it, I'm never going swimming ever again.
>>4672Good call.
>>4672I belieeeeve... any squid in the humboldt+ size range has "toothed" tentacles. With Humboldts and giant squids, each individual sucker has a ring of teeth, colossal squids have big claws that they can swivel independently.
>>4672Oh, no, the Giant Squid's got its suckers lined with small teeth like shark skin to ensure that it won't let go. The Colossal Squd you're looking at there has those hooks that can swivel 180 degrees. Thankfully it's tentacles are much smaller than the Giant Squid despite being anywhere between 5-14 feet longer and at least triple its weight.
>>4678>>4679Neat stuff! I obviously need to read more about the difference between giant squid and colossal squid, It might save my life one day or not, you're probably screwed either way.
I really wish Pokemon could have more than two types. How else can I battle with my Electric/Steel/Flying BURD?
>>5488Trying to figure out the type weaknesses and resistance combos would be hell.
>>5488Just emulate the third type with an Ability. Use Levitate or Volt Absorb, or invent some new ability.
if they actually rooted out on the whole "sound" element I would like to see human shaped Pokemon based off musicians.Imagine Mr.mime evolving into Klaus nomi or a lady gaga one.shit would be hax
I'd like to see an evolution for Primeape. Like, a badass boxing warthog monkey.Or just a warthog pokemon in general.
>>3208They used to have a dolphin pokemon but they all got eaten.
>>6658Kyogre counts sort of.
There oughtta be a kid-friendly Pokemon version of the Candiru.
>>6797......o_o
>>6813It would give an entirely new meaning to Swift Swim. :D
Gimme more paranormal Pokemon, NAO!
>>6884I feel my /x/phile side beginning to emerge again. And it is very happy with that picture.
>>6884>>Sableye looks like the Hopkinsville GoblinsHOW THE FUCK DID I NOT NOTICE THIS?
>>6884>>Mothman Pokemon>>Flatwoods Monster Pokemon
>>6884Agreed. Where the fuck are my greys? And my Jersey Devil? And my Chupacabra?
We have Eels don't we?It seems odd that they wouldn't have gone with an electric Eel, it could prove interesting if it weren't for that other Water/Electric type, Chinchou I believe it's called.
Erp, on the subject of the paranormal, I'd love to see a psychic type pokemon that would resemble a Grey. The problem is that they'd have to warp the image of a Grey to make it look a bit more animalistic yet still humanoid enough to be based on a Grey, if Gamefreak could pull it off I'd love them forever.
>>6902It's on Bulbapedia. Every Pokémon page has a short section down at the bottom about it's design origins. >Sableye is a stylization of the Hopkinsville Goblin, a creature from an alleged Kentucky "alien encounter" described as having shining eyes, small legs, clawed arms and swaying hips (a movement that Sableye does indeed imitate in the 3-D Pokémon games). The Hopkinsville aliens are most famous in Japan, where they have appeared in other anime and video games.
Mewtwo has some features that match the description of a Grey/Zeta extraterrestrial.
>>6938>>6959http://earthbound.wikia.com/wiki/Gigu>Giygas' form in Mother looks very similar to Mewtwo from the Pokémon series. It is possible that Mewtwo is based on his design. This theory is backed up by the fact that many of the people who worked on Mother also worked on PokémonNinten or Ken was also going to be an optional prefab title for Red.
I wonder...Would a chinchilla-based Pokemon work?
>>7036Yeah! We'll make it an Electric-type! The fans'll love that!
>>7056Are you implying that it would be another Pikachu rip-off?... Now that you've mentioned it, I can see a chinchilla-based Pokemon working as an Ice/Electric type.
>>6884I jizzed in my pants at the idea.
>>6884Flatwoods Monster *Q*
>>6904>ChupacabraSo, dark-psychic? Psychic-poison?
>>7144I don't think every "paranormal" Pokemon needs to be dark, so I'mma go with psychic/fire. Do we have that type combo yet?
>>7151I can understand the psychic part, but I've never heard anything about the Chupacabra that says 'fire'.
>>7152Because unique type combo. And I dunno, maybe Mexico makes me think of fire.
Speaking about occult, this guy totally needs a pokémon themed after him.
>>7155It's a unique type combo, and I can see how defaulting to dark for every cryptid/paranormal creature could be boring; but I think it would be better to stay true to the spirit of the legend. Plus, the Chupacabra is not limited to Mexico or the southwestern U.S. where it's hot and dry, it's also known throughout Central/South America where the environment is often rainforest/jungle.I could see psychic/fire for a Jersey Devil or a Spring-Heeled Jack type Pokemon, though.>>7144I like these. Both are combos that haven't been done yet, and each seem to fit with the flavor of the legends. However the psychic/poison combo would be susceptible to dark, and that somehow seems off for a vampiric, goat-slaying monster. Maybe have resistance/immunity to dark as an ability for it (and any non-dark type paranormal Pokemon that would be weak to dark)?
>>7157YES.
these burds
>>7164That would be adorable and I want it.There's already a hell-hound, thanks to Houndour/Houndoom, but I'd like to see something more akin the black dogs of European folklore. A hound Pokemon with the ghost type.
>>7168Maybe a Fighting/Ghost werewolf. That'd be cool.
>>7169>Fighting/Ghost werewolfYes! WANT!
>>7168 Speaking of Houndoom, he needs a three-headed Cerberus evolution.
>>7176There we go. Now we have evolutions for Mightyena and Houndoom.
I wish they'd nerf Hail a bit. Steel, Rock, and Ground resist Sandstorm, but only Ice resists hail? Why not Ice and Steel, or if you don't want to make Steel too powerful, Ice and Water, or Ice and Fire? Something I've been thinking of since they came up with the weather effects was "swift wind", basically a weather effect to benefit flying types. It could make moves like Fly, Razor Wind, and Sky Attack, which have been around since First Gen, actually be of some damn use. Sky Attack and Razor Wind would work like Solarbeam with the sun out: no charge up, do their second turn effect in the first turn. Fly, however, would work like this: If the pokemon using it is the faster of the two, it flies up on that turn, then hits the opponent after their turn, but without counting as their next move. So, unless the opponent has a move that can hit a flying pokemon, they're fucked. To prevent it from being totally OP, Gust would do even more damage to a flying opponent when it's windy, and Whirlwind would not only hit flying pokes and force them out when it's windy, but do the same damage as a single layer of spikes to them. Give some flying types an ability that boosts their speed when it's windy, maybe a legendary or pseudo-legendary who can summon a permanent wind condition (a la Groudon's "Drought", etc.)Other potential weather conditions:-Acid rain-DarknessAnd Castform, of course, would benefit from all that, being able to add three more types to it's roster.
>>7241 Hey, Fly was stupidly overpowered first gen.
>>7241>DarknessIn Gale of Darkness, there WAS the Shadow Sky move, which...made everything all purple haze-y for a few turns, and caused damage to all non-Shadow Pokemon.
>>7241On the rarest of occasions, acid rain does occur in gen vi, and it's basically every weather effect happening at once. I thought my game was glitching when it first happened.
>>7248But that's just a fan name.
>>7246I was thinking they could just have it boost the evasiveness of dark types or something.
ooh, I had an ideaGround/Ghost. Think dangling chains and a shovel.
You know, there are the moves Gravity, Trick Room, and Tailwind. Not really 'weather', but they affect the field in a similar way.Except there's no way to extend their effects yet, and no Pokemon that cause them automatically upon switching in.
>>7241...Wait a minute...I made that macro!
>>7318I like this idea. Kinda reminds me of a Knocker/Tommyknocker.
crystal onix
Fire/ghost Will-oh-wisp.
I want an Electric/Fighting pokemon based on Raijin.
>>9404To this day I say Electivire should have been Electric/Fighting.
