The severe meanness of "Susan Boil*" was offset by the return of Mom (yay!) and a well-deserved Apple ass-kicking.

* admittedly an odd choice of topic, given that the rest of the episode is about one's fifteen minutes of fame dropping off into obscurity; I didn't even get the reference at first.

Eh, on the one hand they got rid of Amy and Kiff's relationship to make Amy and Bender end up together, which was dumb, but on the other hand I laughed enough that I didn't care. On the one hand, character development was tossed out the window, on the other I laughed. I think my sense of humor beats out my nerd rage on this one.

I think the commentaries on the older episode DVD said they planned an episode with the Space Pope making a real appearance, but I don't think this is it.

Who knows if that'll end up happen; did they mention if any of the scripts/concepts that they didn't get around to using for the original run are going to be used?

No.78221
My verdict: It is just like old Futurama. The first season took a bit of momentum to get going, and then it was an enjoyable romp bouncing between contented smiles and hearty guffaws.

You have to remember that Futurama has been around eleven years. Only active for about half that time, but the point is the writers have to trip over static canon in order to make jokes.

Kif and Amy got back together at the end so no harm no foul.
