But yeah, the red was the first thing I realized, since progression wise it reveals the blood color of Karkat before showing that they both have red blood.

So therefore the second thing I realized is that Karkat really could turn into Spades. It's one of my many running theories. Is it possible anyone has more theories running than I do?

It was postulated in the main thread (in part by you, Sidetracked) that trolls feel the same range of emotions as humans, just that they have different names for those feelings. This makes sense, as we've seen displays of more than just "hate" and "pity" as we think of those things. Also, as a race of conquerors, it seems appropriate that even feelings of affection should be given labels that seem aggressive and/or negative. Presumably this will also run deeper than just renaming things, and aggressive, hostile feelings themselves take on a certain level of attractiveness, as those qualities are valuable to a warlike society.

Basically "there is a thin line between love and hate", and troll culture further blurs that.
