Quite possibly one of the most important parts of the entire series shoved into a single, tiny panel. Maybe Higuma distracted him, but Luffy doesn't even seem to notice the devil fruit's terrible taste down there.

Bounty is a measure of combat power and threat to the government. Higuma sucks, so if Kidd's bounty is only higher than Luffy's because he killed a ton of people, and killing 56 people only gets you 8 million, that means that Kidd must have been very busy.

The fact that they are mountain bandits means two things:
1. There are mountains, despite the fact that everything looks like plains.
2. The place where the village is located is far enough away from them that they can't be seen

Also, take note that there is "another village" within walking distance. Sometimes there are arguments about were Ace lived, but these facts make it likely that he lived, if not in Fuschia, then at least nearby.

This is another page that doesn't really have many details but will become important later on for blatantly obvious (now) reasons. Earlier chapters aren't as packed as they are now, so there probably won't be many things until Loguetown, I'm guessing. That's were I remember the series really getting packed.

Now, nobody will doubt the fact that Shanks is a nice guy that would gladly give up his life for a friend, but at Sabaody we learned that Luffy said something that Roger did back then (meaning, likely from the third page to this one). Since Shanks likely met Roger when he was already a pirate for some time (because Shanks was an "apprentice," whatever that means) what he said would have unlikely to have been any of Luffy's "let me go with you" stuff. While nothing in the chapter really stood out in terms of Roger-iness, this line is something I can easily see come out of a pirate of any level. This is just a guess though, but one that immediately preceded The Hat, so maybe...

This might have been trivia if our great and glorious fanbase wasn't so rabid when it comes the the Strawhats. 10 men means that we need 7 more members, by the way. Nami and Robin are women, Chopper is a reindeer, and Franky and Brook used to be men but they're now freaks of nature.

Anime watchers might not know that the Alvida arc was originally located on and uncharted island. Luffy had a single barrel on his ship when he set out, probably grog because Luffy is a proven underage drinker, and a bag (of food, probably). By this time he had probably drunk everything (and its a really good barrel) because his clothes are dry here, which means that the thing in report time about killing and eating large fish is true. Wait, he survived a whirlpool by HIDING IN A BARREL?

Apparently Zoro is both "bold" and "clever" enough to escape the Marines and hunt bounties by drifting out to sea to an uncharted island in a barrel in the hopes that he'll get fished out by a bounty head. The sad thing is that he totally is.

THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT

Look at how short Coby is HAHAHA what a midget. He sure grew a lot, huh? By the way, his is consistently this size throughout the chapter, so its not perspective.

Both of Luffy's stalkers where directly insulted by him after being praised by everyone around them for who knows how long. Except Alvida's praise was forced, while Hancock's praise was genuine. What this means is that Luffy and Hancock deserve to be together much more than Luffy and Alvida.

Please note that Coby doesn't kow anything about devil fruits, so the fact that he talks about a gomu-gomu tree is suspect. However, Oda did talk about changing the fruit's name because a "gomu tree" actually exists, so who really know for sure? Unless I missed an SBS.

There are three surviving strawhat mentors/parent figures: Shanks, Koshiro, and Zeff, and coincidentally or not they are the mentors of the monster trio. Of the three, only Koshiro's past is completely unknown. Makes you wonder, no?

Kuina was a baby when Shiki escaped 20 years ago. Zoro is 19, so she's only a year older. That means Zoro is only 9-11, since Kuina's breasts are starting to develop. Zoro sure was tiny, wasn't he?
Also, age calculation of a dude helped by breast development status is terrible, and I am ashamed that I'm not ashamed to do it.

I'm doing this rereading thing because I'm bored, and mostly for myself. I just wanted to see if I could take anyone with me along for the ride.

Anyway, I'll go ahead and clarify my "mission statement." I won't be doing a complete story synopsis, just pointing out things that catch my eye. That means that there may be times were I skip large chunks of story where plot that are actually critical, for example Luffy and Garp talking, if I don't find any details that not everyone knows. Also, I will talk about the current chapter if something connects to it, but will pretend that spoilers don't exist.

So, did anyone ever wonder about those cannons on the Big Top? It seems they go all the way through the wood, where they are probably reloaded. Perhaps they can be swiveled up and down, too. Or maybe its bulit so they can fire on their own deck, it dunno.

If the grand and magnificent bastion of knowledge that is wikipedia is correct, then the word on that guy's shirt, "Hanswurst," was "a clown-like character popular in German and Austrian plays during the 18th century." Wut. How did Oda know about this? He was 23 when he wrote this.

No one dies in One Piece yet guys. He's just hiding. Also, the rightmost guy in the bottom panel is one of those pandaman style secret characters. I'm sure, but I don't know what he's called.

In Impel Down, Buggy asked Luffy if he remembered his Buggy ball and talked about how he destroyed an entire village with it. This village is a little beat up by the end of the arc, but not destroyed. So, the village he was talking about was probably the one mentioned here. Also, the fact that Luffy insults Buggy's nose might be traced here.

Hey, remember how Nami's good with ropes? She ties up Buggy's body parts later on, too. The lack of Nami bondage porn is a mystery. Also, I just noticed that the image quality is surprisingly good for some reason.

This is what used to pass for strength and endurance for Zoro. Its pretty amazing seeing how far everyone has gotten (or in Buggy's case, how much he hasn't).

Unlike Laboon and Dorry/Broggy, Shushu's story is completely self-contained. The only people involved (all one of them) are confirmed dead, so unless his master's doctors show up its a pretty safe skip. Anyway, check out Luffy's muscles. Also, Mohji's shows have little claws on them.

Is Shushu the mascot for his master's brand of dog food? I don't even want to think about it, so I won't.

Either Oda already knew that Luffy was going to be the son of a guy named Dragon and put in this little Dracula thing as the most shadowy foreshadowing that comes to mind or he made this, though it was pretty cool, and decided to make his dad's name Dragon. Or this has nothing to do with anything. I don't even want to think about it, so I won't.

As a result of this page I believe that Oda knew exactly who was going to join the crew and how. It may have changed over the years, but the Nth chapters make me believe it changed very little. This page specifficaly means that he knew was he was going to do to make Nami a real crewmember a year before the Arlong arc, if nothing else.

So, this is actually something that I see most people get wrong. The Red Line doesn't go north to south, its on a slant. Similarly, the Grand Line is not the equator. Remember, just because compasses don't work in the Grand Line doesn't mean that they don't work outside of it, which means the first map's compass rose is accurate. It also means that the North Pole is located in North Blue, while the South Pole is in South Blue. Even I though that both were on or near the Red Line until I looked at these maps just now.

Most missing teeth in the series recover or move around, but Gaimon always has a gap on the upper right side of his teeth. This is were he got it.

Everyone that travels with Luffy becomes awesome. I wonder what Gaimon would be like now. Also, since finding One Piece will apparently trigger a war against the government, maybe finding One Piece will allow you to "buy" the world. Too bad Luffy doesn't want to conquer.

The problem with One Piece is that you just don't know where the gags end. Nami hurts Luffy because she strikes his heart, then Garp does his whole fist of love thing, then some random dude does something almost exactly the same, only this time its a battle technique? Wow, the entire battle is completely barren when it comes to interesting details. I doubt there will be any in this chapter (33), but at least the cover page has both Zoro's and Nami's personal jolly rogers. By the way, I'm reading this in real time, and the last picture was from chapter 30.

Yea, in the original romance dawn the gomu gomu fruit was just a special fruit. It wasn't a part of a group, so the fact that Coby mentioned the (supposedly cut from the story) gomu gomu tree really threw me off.

The moon was the same as it was the day Kuro attacked Syrup village, the type that he says makes him go wild. Since there are different stages of the moon shown throughout the story, this is probably deliberate. Also the dude is Morgan blah blah everyone knows already.

So, we know that the traveling distance between Syrup and Baratie is a bit more than 2-3 days (because they were already sailing when they came up to Johnny and Yosaku, who should totally be mentioned somewhere in the manga now). there is a map of East blue floating around somewhere, so this information should help us find out about sizes and travel distances in that ocean.

I'm not an expert on ships, but if I had to classify Fullbody's at gunpoint I would call it a triple-sail caravel (which has a 99% of being complete bullshit, by the way) because it looks pretty much the same as the Going Merry. The main reason I'm posting this is to see if there are many other types of marine vessels besides "runty" and "battleship."

VAGUE MEMORY TIME

I seem to recall that Marine Headquaters ranks are the equivalent of two levels higher than branch officers, so if I remember them correctly (lol) Lieutenant Fulbody should be at around the same level as Ensign Tashigi. This means that J&J pretty much suck (thanks Luffy). In my own personal fanfiction bubble, they're off training and are going to show up in the final war.

Last fanfiction/prediction from me, I promise. Sorta really.

I forgot to mention this, but every character that would join the crew got an introduction chapter like this one in East blue. Maybe this continues later, and if it does you might want to scour the chapter title list for any more.

Also, J&Y (sorry I though Yosaku was written with a J because I'm a retard and thought the JJ looked nice) were originally described as "bounty hunters on Zoro's level," which is pretty much them bragging to a laughable degree, so this Fulbody thing was pretty much a jobbing chain.

So, continuing this nice little trend of things that are pretty much something, this is pretty much another one of those gags that isn't. Surely Zeff has the strength to kick through wood pretty easily, and I can't remember why he didn't just kick Kreig's ass. Oh well, guess we'll be coming up on that shortly.

The only thing I can think of that could be abbreviated as W+C over a bathroom is "women and children." This is something I both hope I'm wrong and right about simultaneously. If I'm right then Patty is plucking nosehairs and screaming in the women's bathroom, but if I'm wrong then I'll be able to stop worrying about the tophat on the sign and the high urinals.

The chapter is called "The three chefs," so either Carne was an afterthought made after it became obvious how much more important Zeff and Sanji were or... actually that's the only reason I can think of.

That isn't Krieg's mark and the dragon makes me suspicious. Has the revolutionary army's insignia ever been shown?

I dunno, Luffy just got out of doing the heavy lifting work and stuck to just writing things down by being a total moron. It's still kind of ambiguous, if you ask me.

I remember feeling pretty bad for Sanji back when he was focused on Nami (for a certain value of focused) because she was obviously going to get together with Luffy. It wasn't a big deal, just the main man and leading lady getting together. This was before I knew about the whole NO ROMANCE EVER thing (or maybe before Oda said it? I started reading about 6 years ago).

Now, these things like the heart DON and LOVE written in english are hilarious instead of a little sad, and I am grateful. Praise be to Oda, He who turns relationship angst into wacky hijinks.

Everyone picks on Oda for taking that whole "Diamond is the hardest metal known to man" thing literally, but the originator wasn't Jose (when it comes to translation, always follow your heart. Even if it's wrong, all you have to do is believe in yourself), it was this dude. Actually, this might not be too unknown, since Jose only showed up recently. Whatever.

Nami was already gone at this point. Since the crew presumably sleeps on the ship, she must have left some time this day (5). It might be useful for calculating a timeline, or it might just be useless trivia!

I personally don't believe that this panel accurately portrays what Mihawk's attacks would look like but my judgment on these things usually ranges from "sorta right" to "do you even read the manga?" so there you go.

I don't think I posted one for Kuro, but the Krieg pirates continue the pattern of crew members having words somewhere that relate to their crew. Morgan had mowe (seagull, I think), Buggy had hanswurst, and now Krieg has war (krieg means war in German).

Knowing the size of the ship, this is actually a pretty impressive feat. More importantly, however, it allows us to see what the interior of the ship looks like. I wonder if Oda does any research on ships that he incorporates into their designs, because I don't know anything about them. As such, I am completely unable to point out any mistakes he might have made.

I don't know what the difference between the two is, but most of the DONs before are different than this one. However, a DON is a DON, and I'll definitely be pointing out the neat ones, like Sanji's heart DON and this awesome Mihawk DON.

If you remember not being fooled by Nami at all during the Arlong arc, its probably because you watched the first opening. If somehow you missed it, this moment made it pretty obvious. I don't remember this, though, so maybe it got cut or moved somewhere else in the anime?

Well, I guess this where that all the people who think the Red Line goes north to south, despite the fact that the compass behind it is tilted. It seems to be consistent with Nami's map, too. Ever since Oda said in an interview that Shanks was right in saying that the South Pole was colder because it was a frozen continent I though Oda might have forgotten to take the OP world into account. However, it seems as though the Red Line does get thicker in South Blue, meaning that the OP South Pole would be located on a frozen (section of the) continent. Insert a cold pun here, if you wish.

Three-thousand Worlds actually made Mihawk sweat. I don't know why more people don't claim this regularly, because it seems like a pretty big deal.

I guess this promise has the same rules as the last one and only applies to swordsmen, since he's been getting beat down all over the place nowadays. I'm really feeling the fact that its been more than a year without the crew when I read these chapters. I think this is my favorite of Zoro's fights (Mr. 1 and Ryuuma in constant battle for number two), and I recommend everyone watch it. Later fights might have had better choreography/animation, but this one was definitely the best thematically. Its pretty hard not injecting your own opinions when you do something like this, by the way.

Besides the fact that sometimes you get things like "Meshi" written out over restaurants, its really easy to believe the theory that everyone in the One Piece world is actually speaking English. Maybe its a Japanese/English hybrid, or English, but with a lot of Japanese loan words.

I don't think we've ever seen Mihawk swim, and Shanks swimming was 10 years ago. At this point, after Whitebeard, I think I could accept them both having Devil Fruits. Accept in this context means I wouldn't why about it, by the way. In fact, wouldn't it be great if Mihawk ate a devil fruit like the yomi yomi that doesn't affect him while alive?

Even if you don't believe that the Grand Line journey took around 3 months, Gold Roger was executed 22 years ago at the start of the story and 22 years ago at Sabaody. Even with pitfalls like Little Garden, I'm sure Zeff staying on the Grand Line for a year is an impressive feat (sorry can't think of a non-pun). Perhaps if Sanji would stop being abused by destiny for an arc we'd get some more Zeff stories in the future.

Without the masts, this funny little fish ship is about the size of the Going Merry and half as long. Krieg was actually pretty physically strong. Not as much as any reasonably strong person now, but still pretty strong. He might have made it decently far along the Grand Line, especially considering wusses like the guy Pauli beat up made it that far.

Two things:
1. Pearl looks like Crocodile and I never noticed,
2. Pearl has such a hideously deformed body that my mind can't really register what he would look like without the shields.
The scans just jumped down in quality for some reason, too.

Sanji's enemies sure do like using fire and explosions. I think even Bon Kurei had a thing where his legs had fire trails, though I can't remember that fight too well.

The first time Sanji used Diable Jambe it was his right leg (50% sure). Just in case I'm right, I'll post this picture. If I'm wrong, meh, I've been wrong about worse things in this thread.

Apparently, Diable Jambe literally translates into Devil Wind Leg.
Also, I was right about Sanji's Diable Jambe (ha!), and also noticed that most of the time, during this fight, he kicks with his right leg. This is the same leg that Zeff lost. Can legs be dominant? If so, it seems that Zeff was left legged (because why would you eat your dominant leg?) and either taught Sanji this way or Sanji is left legged too.

Oda tends to make puns by spelling the foreign words in kana, and then giving them kanji to go with it. Diable Jambe in french means Devil leg, but it's also Devil Wind Leg thanks to Oda being clever and giving Kanji to a foreign term. This one isn't quite as interesting, but some others are really cool, like Kaku's Kilimanjaro.

Like, 108 pound hou is Phoenix of 108 Desires (108 desires is a Buddhist concept) and 108 pound cannon (a cannon that fires 108 pound cannonballs).
In fact, I think everyone knows about that one, so I better go bone up on my japanese puns (or the wiki).

Hopefully the Krieg fight will be as empty as the Kuro fight, because my head start this time is much smaller.

So, since Zeff spent one year in the grand line and Sanji was ten at the time this happened, that means that at the latest Zeff entered the grand line 10 years from the current story, which seems to be likely seeing as how the Orbit's crew didn't know that Zeff was back. Apparently, coming back from the grand line is a big deal, at least in East Blue.

Also, Sanji's jolly roger is exactly the same as Zeff's, only with a skull instead of a duck.

Sanji's knife battle pose here is the same as when he fought Wanze, only clumsier. Once again, the exact hand positions (left vertical, right horizontal) is subject to a 50% chance of flipping.

Astute readers may be able to make a rough minimum timeline by assuming that all events take as little time as possible. They might note the stages of the moon and cite them as evidence as to what events are happening at the same time as others. I don't know how moon stages go, though, so whatever.

So, at day 25 Sanji loses the last of his food. However, he manages to survive for 85 days, and Zeff only ever had his leg as food to begin with. Even taking into account the leg, it means that Sanji and Zeff went without food for two whole months. I'm not sure how realistic this would be, but a 30 second glance at the first few google pages gets me 40 days before death with water, with some up to 72.

For some reason we never get scenes of the Strawhats telling each other about their similarly traumatic pasts. This is one of the few times this happens, and the rest of the crew is already gone by this time. They obviously talk though ,because Robin says that they told her about Choppers rampage when they were attacked by Kizaru.

I don't know, but there is a certain feeling of the closeness of the crew one gets with the thought that they don't even need to talk to each other about these things to become as close as they are.

This dodge (backwards jump in a laying down position), his affinity for double spinning weapons, and his reputation of being a cold hearted killer makes me think that Killer may just be Gin with a wig and a mask. If he is, though, what happened to Krieg and the rest of the crew, and why did he ignore Sanji (by the way, Killer, Sanji, and Bepo all protected their captain similarly) and Luffy at Sabaody? Oh well, every theory has holes.

While he has been consistently clever, Sanji hasn't really "cheated" this way in a long time (depending on if you count tricking Bon Clay into untransforming, this might be the last time). Maybe I just don't remember the other Sanji fights too well...

Fulbody pretty much sucks, so this once again brings up the issue of how Don Kreig managed to escape the grand line, especially when he was in a condition where even Fulbody was a threat. If his crew was already starving at the time, it means that they had almost just gotten back from the grand line, or were wandering around lost in an ocean where compasses work and maps help (if this page was mistranslated).

Time to laugh at Kreig (well, more). His use of explosives, a heavy spear, metal armor, spike shield, and poison makes him out to look like a combination of several baroque works members (Mr. 5, Mr. 4, Mr. 1, Ms. Doublefinger, Croc) that somehow manages to suck more than all of them, except maybe Mr. 5.

I wonder if Oda gave them their abilities after realizing how much of a waste they were on Krieg.

Well, I got my wish. The only thing I found over 3 chapters was the fact that getting punched by Zeff made Sanji run away and mope, emo-style. Just goes to show, be careful what you wish for, or you may have to resort to taking Zoro-style potshots at Sanji.

It can't be a coincidence. Oda must plan out these parallels.

I have not comments on this page other than the fact that here is the foreshadowing that the Grandline doesn't suck. It seems as though the reason Oda succeeds so consistently in fulfilling his promises may be because he doesn't give himself a chance to fail.

Just so you guys know, whenever something highly important like this pops up, I'll be double-checking the scanlations against Stephen's scripts. For those of you who don't know him, he was pretty much the best One Piece translator, but he quit some time ago and doesn't let others use his scripts for scanlations.

Here, Yosaku is actually talking about the World Government. This things about barbarian civilizations seems a bit more ominous now, doesn't it?

This is surprisingly not a mistranslation. The fact that Jimbei wants to get back at Luffy for taking down Arlong was, however. So, the Arlong thing is sure to be some nice post-war story fodder.

Here, its not "as strong as Jimbei," its "stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Jimbei." Now that we know that Jimbei wasn't the original captain of the Fishman Pirates this confusion sorts itself out nicely. When Fisher Tiger was captain, Jimbei and Arlong were equal. Something, probably Fisher Tiger's death, transfered the rank of captain to Jimbei. Sometime after, Jimbei accepted an invitation to join the Shichibukai for reasons unknown (possibly the treaty talked about in Sabaody) and the group splintered into small groups like the Macro Pirates.

Apparently that drawing down there says "Nami," but it doesn't look like it to me. Then again, I know almost nothing about all the Japanese ways of writing.

Wow, this chapter is almost unreadable. What Nami is saying here is that she robbing the crew broke her heart (awww). Seems like a strange thing to tell Arlong, though. The next page calls Nami the Arlong Pirate chief of staff, but she is actually just an officer. I think "officer" is the title for the three fishmen that the crew fought, too.

This is the color spread for chapter 70. I am posting it mainly because I like it, but also to show the minor inconsistency of Zoro having his two black swords when they were broken by Mihawk a few chapters ago.

This has been bugging me for some time. Throughout the Buggy cover story thing have been written in english. I just ignored it, but I cant really ignore DONs and DON variants. I wonder why Oda did this like this.

The Lord of the Coast was pretty much better than Mohmoo in every single monstrousness category. So either Fuschia is special in some way or sea cows specifically are native to the grand line and Yosaku is somehow knowledgeable about the regional distributions of sea monsters.

Back in the Buggy arc Nami was shown to hide the pieces of her staff on her outer thigh. Disregarding the fact that three pieces of that length couldn't possibly combine into a staff that size, here we see an even more impossible hiding place. I'm sorry, but I can't accept this and so I choose to ignore that it happened.

This made me realize that a current story Nami vs. Usopp would pretty much be the best thing ever. As it stands neither of the two really use the same fighting style as they did here, but still, Nami>Usopp until further notice.

While at first it might seems as though this map contradicts the East Blue map, you have to take into account the fact that an accurate map of the One Piece world doesn't actually exist and so large-scale maps are guesses.

While it may seem as though Purin Purin is an important person because of his coat, there are two important details to note about it.
1. Its a cape
2. It doesn't say Justice one the back

This must be the ship that higher ranking officials use in East Blue. As you can see, it is larger than Fulbody's but still not the size of a battleship. If you held me at gunpoint and ask me to classify it, I would probably cry, but it's bigger than the Sunny since it has 3 masts.

With my complete lack of knowledge regarding whatever puns make up the names of all the attacks, the only thing I can mention is that throughout the entire fight, Zoro was only hit once, and it was a headbutt. I guess that doesn't count, though, because Zoro didn't count it during the flying fish riders arc.

Jimbei uses an attack similar to this (1000 tile true fist) only 5 times stronger. What this means is that Kuroobi sucks. Also, I seem to recall people talking about Hachi's master or something along the lines, but I don't think I read anything of the sort. Maybe I'll look it up later.

I am not surprised in the least that Helmeppo wears a brand-name sleeping cap. Does anyone think that the perspective and proportions of this page are off? Coby looks like he could reach the ceiling, and there are certainly people much taller than him everywhere.

I had a huge post here about how Usopp doesn't get enough solo fights but I deleted it. Instead, here's Usopp overcoming his suckiness for the first time (out of dozens). I guess the bad thing about Usopp is that he'll be done as a character once he overcomes it permanently, but still.

Its been 32 chapter already. While the quality is definitely getting better, I am getting a bit tired of the long expanses of nothing. I'll keep going for another hour and see if I find something soon.

It might be possible that high-ranking Marines are always dispatched during manners of Marine corruption (hyuk hyuk) and Garp just happened to be interested in going. It seems as though Morgan's base was pretty close to Fuschia and Luffy wasn't known as a pirate, so maybe Garp wanted to visit him?

Everyone would be talking about how they fit thematically in conjunction with Wado Ichimonji and how they represent different aspects of Zoro's personality and how it only seems fitting that the shark-themed Zoro would be getting his new swords from the strongest sharkman in the sea and how much it sucks that Zoro didn't get them and they were a waste of designs and whatever.

Just goes to show, there have always been general zombies in the story.

I still honestly believe that this is the exact point where One Piece became near-irreversibly awesome (some would say epic but if you are one of those people I don't think I could stand any sort of prolonged conversation with you). All of the previous, independently great parts of the arc like Nami's past, "Luffy, help me," and the confrontation with the Arlong pirates join together in this page and punch One Piece into a state where even Oda intentionally trying to make it suck has a chance of failing.

Nami has already been referred to as a kitten by Genzo back during her flashback when she stole the book, but I didn't notice that it connects to "cat burglar" until I saw it here. I am almost certain that the original japanese word used here is nakama. Some translators refuse to change it, because the word has connotations that can't be completely replicated by anything in the English language. However, friend seems so much creepier here and sweeter when Luffy says it later that I think it was actually the correct choice. This is the difference between direct translation (or lack of it) and localization. While being direct might spare you from crashing an burning, it also has trouble reaching the level of a well made localization.

There is no way Oda was planning Nami's bounty photo at the time he wrote this (this is where he talks about taking away Nami's smile). However, he obviously remembered and managed to connect it back to this scene in a way that seemed natural and touching. I'm sure this is a useful skill for a writer to have, but I wouldn't know, since I'm not much of a writer.

If all of the temporary arc allies joined the crew, it would be the size of other commonly seen pirate groups (if only the important members of groups like the Rumbars and Franky Family are counted) and few people could complain about it being too impersonal for Luffy. Then again, having the entire crew consist entirely of elite bounty heads is impressive too. Honestly I think I would have liked it either way, and would have fought for the alternative regardless of what it was.
