By pacing, I mean the difference between the two in their execution. The Battle Of Coruscant is very little more than a constant stream of BOOM-BLAM-PEW, going from shooting and dodging outside the ship to lightsaberan and dodging inside the ship to finally landing and not really dodging anything, whereas the Battle Of Hoth is an expanded efort by the entire rebel force to evacuate, always moving from the desperate attempts to fight the advances rebel forces (i.e., Luke's side) to that of the rebels trying like hell to get out (Leia, Han, etc.).

By scale, I mean opponent to opponent. A fighter is evasive enough to work its way around a destroyer during battle, if the pilot is skilled enough. Mix in a large force of fighters all working together to distract the enemy's fighters and get Obi/Anakin inside, and it just doesn't seem so difficult, especially considering the the two fighters aiming to get inside were being piloted by Jedi Knights. The Hoth battle on the other hand, were giant, heavily armored monstrosities that pretty much blew up things within a large radius of where they shot vs. a smattering of poorly equipped ground troops and some frail ships whose blasts couldn't even dent the armor of said attackers, making the entire battle hopeless until Luke figured "Guys, let's try the harpoon cables" as a last-ditch effort. Or, in the Yavin/Endor case, out-dodging an entire surface of turrets and fighters as opposed to just flying through the inside where the rebels jsut have to outrun a few measly TIEs).

By result, I mean "Yes! We destroyed the Death Star against all odds, saving the galaxy from its tyrannical power!" vs. "Oh, awesome. We killed the Death Star. Again. It was only half operational this time, though."

tl;dr - The battles in the prequels are to premature ejaculation, what the battles in the OT are to making her orgasm all night.

You make some good points BUT;

The battle of coruscant is still the superior battle because so much is happening. It's a pivotal point in the star wars universe. Firstly its clearly a last ditch effort by the separatists to force favorable terms on the republic, secondly its the moment where Anakin kills the emperors apprentice thus passing the point of no return on his path to the dark side. And thirdly because its the point at shich the republic goes from fighting a war to hunting the remnants of the enemy.
Thats why it superior story wise.

Why it superior cinematically ive already explained. Hundred of starships blasting the shit out of each other in orbit over a city planet, followed by anakin piloting half a flaming starship through atmosphere to land safely with the emperor/chancellor in tow. While im not a fan of the PT generally, that is one of my favorite scenes in all six movies.

Most notable achievement, other then actually finding Han (and calling the empire so they could capture him) was getting defeated by a blind Han Solo, crashing into Jabba's Sail Barge and falling into the sarlaac.

That's kinda my point. Boba Fett in the movies was just kind of a not-very impressive goon, slightly above a faceless stormtrooper. The EU gradually made him into king bad-ass.

I always imagined the x-wing pilots returning from a mission, and heading to the local cantina. Here's Wedge, the salty, senior pilot with years of experience. He saunters in after the younger pilots have already sat down with their drinks. Too jaded to care, and not wanting to sit with the idealistic newer pilots (he hates the way they go on and on about how they'd go about attacking the death star), he finds a seat at the end of the bar.

Of course, the women can't help but notice the mysterious yet manly figure in the corner, with the scorched helmet bearing the scars of hundreds of space battles (the other pilots all have shiny new helmets). Several women approach Wedge, but he blows them off. Of course, this just makes them want him even more.

He'd get super pissed and throw more lightning at me, but I'd just stand there yawning and playing my DS until he wore himself out. Then I'd shank him with a sharpened toothbrush.
