The Original Movie Drafts read like Lucas with the over complicated ill described plotting and zany aliens like the prequels but unlike the Prequels the Originals got run by a few actual writers and such that tamped down most of his stuff before it could get into the final bit. I enjoy all 6 films (though I do enjoy the prequels less).Having said that, the Expanded Universe has material that is much better than the originals, and material that is much worse than the prequels.
