I'm pretty sure the kanji here translates to "Haters Gonna Hate."So more or less, Kubo is the greatest troll ever, I mean, we still haven't been told why the series is called 'Bleach' in the first place. What's up with that?
Because it's about cleansing Hollows.
>>39928Then it should be called 'Dirt.' If I were going to fill a hole, I would do it with dirt....Or a penis. Yes, from now on the series will be referred to as 'Dongs.'
Because he thought it sounded cool. Then he figured to cover it he'd give Ichigo Orange hair
>>39931>>39927I heard it was because of the Nirvana Album of the same name.
The series is supposedly called Bleach because people in Ichigos school thought he bleaches his hair or something like that. I think this was said by Kubo himself. Also, inconsistend writing does not make a troll.
The series is actually called "breach," as in "a breach in our security," since almost everyone in the series has seriously broken Shinigami rules.
>>39927>we still haven't been told why the series is called "Bleach"ohhh, and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
ITT: Nobody but one guy realizes I was kidding around.
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/397-80/1
>>39997Lookin' sort of lazy there, Kubo.
>>39998He got the idea from Gene Simmons' kid. Also, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Sure this TWEEST is kinda dumb, but it got Isshin into the mix, so I DON'T CARE. FUCK SHIT UP MAN!
So this page was pretty cool.>>39998. . .That's actually interesting. Compare the facial expressions- back then he was relaxed, this time he's showing some tension underneath the typical attitude. Is it just me or is that thing on his shoulder remniscent of the random wing thingy Ichigo used to get to Rukia when she was being transported across that bridge? And wasn't said wing thingy mentioned as being the possession of some noble house? Was Aizen about to reveal something about Ichigo's mother?Of course, all this pales in light of the revelation that Aizen was responsible for Renji's visor.
Dat finger...
>>39998I was wondering when he was going to show back up.
>>39998...Y-You do realize that's probably just facial consistency, right? I mean, Kubo's copied concepts from his old panels before but... this isn't one of those times. This is just a character, you know, looking the way Kubo designed him. Like I said, it's called facial consistency. Comic/manga artists practice it all the time because it's fairly fucking vital. Also, we interrupt your regularly scheduled discussion to bring you Dr. Nurse's Daily Fangirl Moment:HNNNNGHAIZENCHESTYESPLEASE
I fucking hate you Kubo.
>>40008When did you fall under the illusion that Aizen was ever telling the truth?I mean...fuck, what else can you say? It's obvious, really, that he could have been lying, but we always assume the bad guys never lie in these moments because they've just won and bad guys don't tend to lie in these scenarios. But if this is the case, then...what the hell else could he be lying about? There's no reliable narrator anymore! Is he even going after that King's Key? Is Orihime ACTUALLY important to him? Does he give a shit about his Espada buddies?Does anyone even know what the hell is going on anymore? I love it. It's great.
Aizen: Everything I tell you is the truth.Ichigo: But what about that one time?Aizen: I was lying.Uh, ok? I lost the point of this conversation.
>>40009Unreliable narrators can certainly make a story interesting. While reading, you may pick up hints that something's not right, that what the narrator says about what happens doesn't quite match up with what he says is happening. Maybe you know that the narrator is trying to hide something, and you wonder if he's lying to the reader, too. Maybe he's insane or a braggart, and you have to wonder whether every detail he tells you is real or not. However, two things should be taken into consideration in this situation.1. Kubo makes things up as he goes along.2. If you're reading Bleach for the story you're doing it wrong.
eeeeeeEEEEEEE ISHIIIIIIN Shit's gonna get real.
>>40013I don't think that's really the case. Kubo has a story, he just takes waaaaay too long to tell it. Same for his plans.
>>40004Looks pretty fucking identical to me.
>>40013>1. Kubo makes things up as he goes along. Honestly, what does it matter? The quality of a plot twist is not based entirely on how far ago it was conceived, planning it far back just makes it easier to make a good one.If it's good, it doesn't matter if the author thought it up recently. Conversely, a crappy plot twist can still be crappy even if the author thought it up a decade ago.
>>40031Well, it does matter because if you have it planned out in advance, odds are better that everything will tie together cleanly, and you won't be left with weird inconsistencies. Sure, it's possible to make up tweests as you go, but it's a lot harder to keep your ducks in a row if you do.
>>40031Great plot twists create this mind-reeling paradigm shift for the reader that ties into preceding events which, in retrospect, were building towards this moment. For example, Ichigo's inner hollow revealing himself during the fight with Byakuya- that was fantastic, because we'd been getting all these weird bits with that hollow mask mysteriously reappearing on Ichigo's person and so on. Without enough of that buildup, a twist like this just becomes an abrupt retcon- Aizen just saying "I was somehow responsible for this element which was already accounted for" and not giving any concrete details, that's just lame.
>>40013Kubo actually does seem to have an outline of some sort, judging by how early some plot twists start being foreshadowed. He just deviates from it too much, and often outright ignores it when he gets wrapped up in the battle he's currently writing, making for a fairly unreliable quality in the stability of the plot.
Kubo's story is better than his writing.
>>40060That's a good way of putting it.
Is Kubo responsible for the Shinigami Zukan stuff? That's my favorite part of the series. In fact, I would probably enjoy a gag manga with Kubo-colorspread type art and designs more than the manga right now. Oh man, that would be so great.- Kurosaki Ichigo, all your battles up until now have been on the palm on my hand.-*Rukia sleeping in his closet*-*Yoruichi full frontal*-*Matsumoto's attempted seduction*-*Skimpy rags Nel hug*- YOU'RE LYINGAll in glorious color and fashion model outfits.
>>39998Very rarely do I actually cheer when I'm reading things. When Isshin showed up I jumped out of my chair and cheered.Fuck.Yes.
>>40036To be fair, Aizen could just as easily be bullshitting Ichigo to get inside his head and unnerve him. He hasn't provided any evidence to support his claims of being the mastermind behind everything.
>>40074A lot of them are based on various omakes Kubo has done.He used to do some for V-Jump, but he had to stop.
>>40125They were all collected into one book, but I've yet to find scanlations of it.I haven't looked recently, though.
>>40074I want to see this drawn...or at least edited together.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3505858/1/Uninvited_GuestsYou all should read this right now. It takes the piss out of Bleach in every way imaginable.
>>40157You shouldn't piss in Bleach, anyway. It'll make mustard gas.
>>40125Can you tell me what the book is called, at least?
>>40137How about this. I know photoshop, but am in no mood (nor do I have the time) to dig through and find all these scenes. However, if you go and find the pages and post them here, I will edit them together for you.>>40157But I can't read it until people start replying that it's good! Ideally with specific moments where they particularly enjoyed it. That's how it works!
>>40157>>40163How's this: when I discovered that fic 6 months back, my reaction was to make a fanfic thread on /jam/ so as to hail it as the funniest fanfic I've ever encountered. No? Then I'll just post the beginning.Chapter 1: Where there's smoke, there's fire. Where there's fire, the 11th Division is probably involved.Kenpachi Zaraki was not what you would call a deep thinker. It wasn't that he was dumb; quite the opposite. His tactical skill alone marked him as being of above-average intelligence. He just didn't like thinking, much preferring to slam headlong into whatever life happened to throw at him. However, even he appreciated the fact that sometimes, in some things, you were supposed to at least think a LITTLE BIT before you rushed ahead and did it. Not fighting, of course, but SOME things.Unfortunately, he'd apparently failed to instill even that tiny, insignificant bit of restraint in his subordinates."Well, guys. I'd really love to know exactly what happened here." Zaraki said, staring at the raging fire that was currently consuming the 11th Division barracks at an alarming pace. Standing with him were his three primary aides, Vice-Captain Yachiru Kusajishi, 3rd Seat Ikkaku Madarame, and 5th Seat Yumichika Ayasegawa. Sometimes, Zaraki wondered why his 5th Seat was apparently more powerful and respected than his 4th Seat, but knowing Ayasegawa it probably had something to do with the attractiveness of the various numbers, which meant Zaraki really didn't want to know the details. "So talk. I KNOW one of you three was responsible for this.""How do you know it was us?" Ikkaku protested."Because it's ALWAYS you three. Everyone else in the division is too afraid of me to do something this stupid."
"…Point. But you can't blame me for this one; I was in the training grounds. I didn't have access to fire.""Fair enough. Ayasegawa?"The effeminate 5th seat sighed. "It IS a rather striking inferno, isn't it? I feel it really brings out my eyes…""… are you even listening to me?""Hmm? I'm sorry, were you asking me something? I just couldn't help but stare at these delightful flames. They remind me a little of my hair ornamentation." he said, gesturing to the red and yellow feathers attached to his hair and eyebrows. "Now THAT is a fashionable disaster…" Ayasegawa said, drifting off into his own little world again.Zaraki shuddered slightly. Freak.Ikkaku turned to his friend. "Yumichika, you do realize that all of your clothing and makeup was in there, right?"THAT got the 5th seat's undivided attention."! DAMN YOU, FLAMES! OH, THE CRUEL WHIMS OF FATE MAKE THEIR TWISTED ATTEMPTS TO STRIP ME OF MY BEAUTY YET AGAIN! ARE YOU THAT JEALOUS, GOD?" Ayasegawa screamed, falling to his knees and shaking his fist at the cheerily burning building.
>>40157>fanfictionNo thanks, I'd rather just drink bleach.
>>40168That's an assumption that's going to cost you.
>>40168No you wouldn't.
>>40173 >>40185 The result is the same either way. I'd rather have the more meaningful death of the two.
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/398-93/1Oh snap
>>40426I wonder how this worked.
>>40428I wonder how, in a manga where people stand on air, THIS worked.
>>40432Yes, I thought that too, but then I remember this:http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RuleOfFunny
>>40433>tvtropesYou are the devil.
Anyone else surprised how mature Ichigo was about the reveal?
>character interaction>multiple events in a chapter>Gin>BACKGROUNDS, HONEST TO GOD BACKGROUNDSOh Kubo, we missed you.
>>40447In a very pleasant way.
>>40477 How did Ichigo grow a neck beard in the third panel...and why is it black?
>>40480Oh you, you know that's just how he draws shadows.
>>40482 BUT IT’S GOING WAY OUTSIDE OF WHERE HIS CHIN LINE WOULD BE. What else could it be other than a sudden growth of facial hair?
>>40493It's clever foreshadowing. Isshin's bloodline has a secret technique, similar to the vaizard's ability but far more powerful. Instead of donning a mask by suppressing an inner hollow, they grow beards by manning the hell up.Everything gets explained in-depth in the upcoming Facial Hair Arc. It will be the best story arc ever.
>>40503Wang Fire is of Isshin's bloodline? That explains so much.
>>40503 So Bleach is suddenly going to become Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo? I see nothing wrong with this.
>>40512IchiGo-Go-GogogoAlso, FFFFFFFFFFYES I fucking loved this chapter. Looking forward to what comes next.
What is... I don't even...
>>40592I thought that was going to be a Blingee.
>>40592...Gin's fingers are ludicrously long.
>>40594>Ludicrously Long Fingers>Super extending blade power
Looks like the filler is finally over.It kind of petered out there at the end, but was being drawn out, anyways, so I guess its okay.
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/399-100/1
>>40754oh thank god I cant start watching the cartoon again
>>40800>12 pages in>Where the last chapter endedHm...
>>40800Surprisingly enjoyable.
"Lol my Bankai goes from hand gun to sniper""That's it?""Lol no, just fucking with you."
>>40800GIN'S EYE! IT OPENED!
>>40812HOLY CRAP!Seriously, it says something that the chance we'll get some actual insight into Gin's enough to keep me on the edge of my seat.
>>40815Will Matsumoto show up at all during the course of this battle at all either in a flashback or a cutaway is the real question.
New chapter: I am entirely underwhelmed.
I bet Gin's sword isn't for slashing, but for sniping.I mean what if it expands at 13km/s
>>40847OH FUCK, I JUST FIGURED IT OUT.It's not about distance. Think about how fast that the blade has to be moving to extend 13 km in a matter of seconds. A quick google search tells me that a typical chainsaw moves at about 60 mph, or one mile per minute- imagine the cutting power of a razor-sharp blade that's moving a hundred times faster than that. Except you don't have to imagine, because Gin just sliced through half a city in one swing. No wonder we saw him show some genuine surprise- Ichigo's bankai is virtually the only thing out there that *could* have blocked it, because his "release" actually condenses his freakishly-large spiritual power into the form of that blade. Anyone else- even Kenpachi- would have been bisected like Hiyori if they'd tried that.
>>40857A blade 13km long would be extremely easy to snap.
>>40865not if its magic foo
>>40857No, because it's one solid blade, not a chainsaw. What makes a chainsaw cut so well is that it's a whole bunch of little blades moving very fast, so you get cut over and over and over again. This is just...one blade. There is no reason why how fast it shoots out would matter, because it's only hitting you once.
>>40877Unless he can retract it.
>>40878In which case he gets to do it again? It's still no different from stabbing someone and pulling it right out.
>>40857That's what I was thinking. 13km/s is faster than objects in orbit of Earth. Have you ever seen Planetes?>>40877A chainsaw is not a good comparison, but a blade plowing through anything that fast will be really dangerous and hard to block if he starts stabbing (it would literally be harder than blocking a bullet with a sword).
>>40883It'll be hard to block if he starts stabbing, but he's just extending it and then swinging. So the claim that if Kenpachi tried what Ichigo did he's get cut in two is obviously silly.
>>40884Yeah, I agree Kenpachi not being able to block his swing isn't likely (though it does need someone of similar level of spiritual pressure as Ichigo or Kenpachi), but I'm getting a vibe that the swing was just Gin screwing aroundwith Ichigo and he's not using his bankai to its full power/efficiency yet.
>>40884>>40886Okay, this is getting interesting. We've seen several examples of Gin's release in action, enough to illustrate a basic internal logic:-From Gin's standpoint, his sword's weight and so on doesn't change. It's kinda like a lightsaber- you can swing it around all you want, only having to exert yourself when your blade actually hits something that can resist it to some degree.-From the standpoint of someone else, his blade has the mass (and force) you'd logically expect. So you can figure out what'll happen if you look at the blade and the hilt separately, and in each case make false assumptions about the nature of the other component.Anyone here who's actually studied physics care to comment on the implications? The big one I see is that he could hit something miles away with a ridiculous amount of force, just using the blade as a blunt object (assuming it's also effectively unbreakable).Pic is more old foreshadowing that anything related.
>>40895Well, if he hits someone by swinging it the speed its cutting them at can be calculated by finding its tangential speed, which is which is the rotational speed (how long it takes for him to rotate in a circle at that rate/how many he can do in a certain period of time) times twice the radius (which in this case is the distance from the hilt to the point of contact) times pi (3.1415).Though this is making me wonder if he might accidentally hit Aizen/intentionally hit Isshin who isn't looking. Or (this is not my idea) slice apart one of the pillars holding up Fake Karakura Town.
Frankly, I think we're all overthinking this. It's clearly not hitting with the force of 13 km/s, because if it were, those buildings would be smashed to pieces, not sliced apart absurdly neatly. It's magic. They don't have to explain it.
>>40898>It's clearly not hitting with the force of 13 km/s, because if it were, those buildings would be smashed to pieces, not sliced apart absurdly neatly. That's because he slashed those buildings from just a couple hundred meters away, he didn't spear them or do it from several kilometers away.Anyway, Kubo always likes to through in basic physics jargon and such to make the attacks some more impressive.
Something I thought was interesting was that the fastest a bullet can be fired from a modern handgun is 1.22 km/s. So Gin's Bankai is, quite literally, faster than a speeding bullet (is it faster than Superman, though?).
>>40903Sorry, I mean modern RIFLES, not handguns.
Im kinda disappointed, yeah its cool how his sword is super long and fast but....really for a Bankai its a little underwhelming.
>>40913You think an 8 mile long sword that can cut a fucking city in half is "a little underwhelming"...!?
>>40938It is, compared to an arm nuke, infinite blade pedals works, and fire so hot it can burn anything, it is.Given, Gin'll probably have some stupid second form like Tousen had.
>>40913>>40940You. . .you. . .seriously?
>>40943I have to agree, frankly. It's certainly big and flashy to be able to slice through a whole city in one go, but it's not very practical.
>>40943It shoots fast and far, big fucking whoop. In a world where everyone has super speed it isn't that amazing.
>>40944>it's not very practicalHOW? What the hell do you mean by "practical"? Since when has any bankai ever been "practical?>>40945Not all super speed is equal, and how are a big bomb and more cherry blossom swords than you had before so much more impressive than the ability to slice up everything in a 530 km area?
>>40954Dude, think about it. At the distance you'd need to be at for the ridiculous length to even matter, you can't even see them. You're basically reduced to swinging wildly and hope your opponent happens to be on that one specific line that you're cutting in the air. At range and with Bleach superspeed involved, that's not terribly likely. Also, Senbonzakura is more impressive because short of surrounding yourself on all sides with walls or putting all of your bullshit level energy into speed, there is no effective defense. Parrying it would be like parrying a mudslide. Gin's bankai is just a sword. Albeit, a really really big sword.
>>40959Think of it this way: It's not really meant for sword-fighting. It's meant for SNIPING.Which fits his personality really well, actually.
>>40959>At the distance you'd need to be at for the ridiculous length to even matter, you can't even see them. This actually being a problem for Gin is about as likely as Byakuya finding it hard to control thousands of flying blades all at once.
Here's the SCIENCE! calculations on /a/. Obviously a lot of these don't apply to magic ghost swords, but it is amusing to think about nonetheless.>If he could swing the sword 180 degrees in a fifth of a second, the tip would be going 204 km/s, or 735,132 km/h. Mach 1 is 1,225 km/h. So that's around Mach 600.>Math: 180° in .2s is 5π rad/s, linear speed is just angular speed * radius, which in this case is 13km, for 204 km/s, 204*3600 = 735,132>Okay, now considering that a 13 km sword should weigh around 16 tons if it keeps the same width, how much force would be necessary to move that sword at that speed (leaving air friction out for the purpose of this exercise)? What amount of energy is released when it comes in contact with Ichigo's sword?>Force:>Given Kinetic Energy=.5mv^2 and given Work=F*D, we have F = .5mv^2 / d.>Inputting the values above and the mass of 16 tons, over a distance of a half-circle 13 km in radius (C=pi*r for a half-circle = 13km*pi ), I calculated a force of: 8.15 E 9 Newtons. >Energy released:>To stop something moving at 204 km / s requires an equal and opposite force, and therefore, an equal and opposite expenditure of energy. So, I conclude, that the energy required to stop Gin's sword -- at the tip -- requires the same energy as that sword tip moving at 204 km / s. Thus: 3.39 E 14 Joules.>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orders_of_magnitude_%28energy%29>Let's compare. Helpful Mr. Link there tells me that: 6_10^14 J, the energy released by an average hurricane in one second. By comparison: 9.0_10^13 J, the theoretical total mass-energy of one gram of matter. So the collision releases more energy than the total conversion of one gram of matter to energy. Gnarly!>Also, with that amount of force... It requires 10x the energy to stop that sword than it did to blow up Hiroshima and Nagasaki.>A fast bullet moves at 1500 m/s>His sword tip moves at 204000 m/s>134 times faster
>>40964>134 times fasterI wonder what his secret is...
>>40964>Also, with that amount of force... It requires 10x the energy to stop that sword than it did to blow up Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I just realized, if Ichigo can stop the sword entirely, than it seems the "move farther out to make it move faster" part will only help Gin move it faster than Ichigo can block.
>Gin points his sword downwards>Extends at 204000m/s>Goes to space and snipes Ichigo from there.
Doesn't this mean that Gin can destroy the Marianas Trench with a swing of his sword?
>>40972How do you destroy a trench with a sword of any size? It's already a gap in the ground, what would cutting do?
>>40975Make it even trenchier.
>>40975Collapsing the sides of it and filling the whole thing in?
>>40954Did you just compare a nuke to a really long sword?
>>41003 See>>40964>>Also, with that amount of force... It requires 10x the energy to stop that sword than it did to blow up Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And just because Soifon's bankai looks like a missile does not mean it's as strong as a nuclear weapon. Judging by the size of those buildings under the explosion that it's "only" a couple blocks wide, which is less that the number of buildings Gin destroyed with one sword swing.
>>41004If we start playing real physics with this shit, you can't ignore Newton's third. If it really had that much force, it would tear Gin's arm off when he used it (or at the very least, wrench itself out of his grip and leave him smarting).Face it, dude, it's a lame Bankai.
>>41005As someone stated before, the idea was that Gin's sword only effected him as if it was the weight, mass, and size of a regular sword, but effects other people an objects as if it wasn't. Otherwise he would have either torn his arm off already or be strong enough to kill anyone barehanded. And I'm not admitting something is a "lame" power just because people can complain about the logical limitations of one power (which are obviously not a factor in the actual series) while ignoring those of others.
>>41009Then you're openly admitting that physics is out of the window and all your big numbers don't actually mean shit. Which they never did to begin with, but now we've got a consensus.
>>41010That was just in response to >>41003 using the logical fallacy of "If I can make the opposing argument sound as stupid as possibly by excluding details, that means I'm right". If a sword is capable of destroying every building in a 13 km radius, then yes, you can compare it to a bomb.Any calculation are strictly for amusement, and there's no way any of this shit will be getting quantifiable comparisons to each other.
>>41005>>41010It's called internal logic. There are still natural laws- they're not exactly the same as the ones in reality, but that doesn't mean things are happening for no reason.
So that episode was ENTIRELY recap, but it has one of those openings that spoils things that are going to happen.
It's probably reasonable to assume everyone already knows this stuff, anyways.
And for the ending, Casual/Formal!
>>41093Oh God, Aizen and who the hel--is that Wonderweiss!? Hahaha
>>41093inb4 Nurse
>>41093LUCK, GO BACK TO BACCANO! ALREADY. :|
>>41093Nice coat, Aizen.
Hope you enjoy this, someone probably died translation it:http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/400-126/1
Various posters were right one two things:1. The real power of it really is the speed, not the size. In fact, Gin's saying that in the time it takes to clap his hands it could either reach Ichigo or fully extend (I'm not sure which) 500 times.2. Matsumoto is apparently going to get involved in this. Also, it seems Aizen is going to start pulling some weird shit with the Hogyoku
How peculiar. It seems that Ichigo's dad is more than a match for ol' Aizey-poo. Or would have been ,if not for Hougyohax. And why isn't Ichigo using his mask again?
>>40857>>41136
>>41139I'm pretty sure Ichigo was just saving the mask until he really needed it and the end of the chapter is the lull between showing something is dangerous enough to need the Hollow Mask and him actually using it.Also, I wanted to take the opportunity to post this shoop. The spoiler isn't for the new chapter, just to preserve the punchline.
>>41139He tired out Aizen while unreleased. Even if Aizen drinks some hogyoku juice to pump himself up, Isshin still has shikai AND bankai. I'm pretty sure Isshin, MAYBE with some help from Shinji's bankai, will at least be able to make Aizen go bankai himself.
>>41148Actually, I think we're seeing the effects of having to fight so many people in a row on Aizen, especially the Captain Commander.
>>41149That could be it, too. Oh, and Urahara still has yet to show up. If anyone could switch off the hogyoku, it's the guy who made it.Also, I think I may be the last remaining Aizen fan. It's probably the coat. I'm really anxious for his bankai.
OK, I'm getting a third interpretation of what Gin meant: when he clapped his hands and say his bankai was 500x as fast that, "that" was the sound going toward Ichigo. So he's saying his sword can extend at 500 times the speed of sound.
>>41151According to the spoiler translations, that's correct. Gin's bankai goes at mach 500.
>>41150>Implying Urahara won't show up when Aizen is bested only to reveal this has all been an experiment to test the hogyoku further and Urahara is in fact the real villainohyou.jpg
>>41153You have no idea how badly I want this to happen. My face would actually explode if this went down. That's how happy I would be.
And now for some idle speculation on the nature of bankais.Aizen: Reality warper, that's how I see this one going. It would be interesting if he didn't actually have one, just hypnotized the command to believe he did, but given his power that would make no sense.Kenpachi: We know that Kenpachi's sword is always in its shikai due to his high spiritual pressure. Thus, his shikai is just a really strong sword (which suits him just fine). I'd imagine his bankai, then, is just a full set of really strong weapons and armor.Yamamoto: Probably completely unrelated to his shikai, or else we'll never see it now.Kyoraku: Ukitake told him not to release it in a large crowd of people, so I think it's essentially a quirkier version of Aizen's shikai in that anyone who sees it is pulled into a game. Basically, it's the Xiaolin Showdown bankai.Shinji: Three words - Disney Acid Sequence.Ukitake: ...I got nothin'. What is the logical extension of absorbing attacks and firing them back; it seems like there's really only one way you can do that...
>>41155>Yamamoto: Probably completely unrelated to his shikai, or else we'll never see it now. Why? His fire was unsealed (explosively) when Wonderweiss died.
>>41156No, those were just the flames sealed in Wondy. All the flames still in his sword were sealed in the sword. Forever. At least, I think that's what was said...
>>41157Uh...pretty sure not, broseph.
Ha! Totally called it about Gin's bankai.Funfact: I actually wrote "Gin's ultimate" first. Been playing too much HoN.
>>41155>Ukitake: ...I got nothin'. What is the logical extension of absorbing attacks and firing them back; it seems like there's really only one way you can do that...Stopping attacks entirely? IE use an attack once, if blocked it can't be used again
>>41170I think there was a guy in Yu Yu Hakusho with a power like that. That was a good fight.
>>41170Ukitake used DISABLE!

>>41155Yamamoto's bankai is probably becoming super hot and dense. Like, his aura isn't on fire anymore, but his body and his sword are so hot it just ruins anything he touches.I like the DISABLE idea for Ukitake, but it could also just amplify the attacks it redirects in bankai.I refuse to believe kenpachi would use anything that isn't a sword. I feel like his bankai would make his sword heavier. It would make the fights more fun for him, and the more often he used it the stronger it'd make him.
>>41155>Kyouraku... Xiaolin Showdown Holy fuck. I never thought of it that way
So as long as we're speculating on Bankai's, what's Unohana's?
>>41256An even bigger and stupid looking whale manta thing that brings people back to life thus rendering Orihime even more useless.
>>41256Her Bankai is Aizen.
Not that this kind of speculation's a bad thing to do, but: Do you guys think you could have predicted any of the bankai we've seen so far? Sure, they generally extrapolate on the character's release, but that extrapolations always creates some entirely new kind of threat (rather than just more of the same ability).
>>41256Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it ruins everybody in a large area. I mean, consider which Captains were sent to Hueco Mundo. Kenpachi, Byakuya, Mayuri, and Unohana. Why would they choose those four? Unohana is canonically the strongest member of the Gotei 13 except for Yamamoto himself (and Aizen), and Byakuya and Kenpachi are pretty top-tier their own selves. Furthermore, Mayuri and Kenpachi are...not exactly who I would consider prime candidates for a rescue mission. They're way too likely to get distracted by their own agendas (dissecting interesting specimens and killing strong enemies, respectively). So, why them? The answer seems clear to me: because they do not pla well with others. Either they are loose cannons (Kenpachi, Mayuri), or their bankai are indiscriminately dangerous (Mayuri and Byakuya. Common sense dicatates that filling the air with thousands of tiny blades is going to be dangerous to everyone around you, even if they are under your general control. See also the fight with Zommari, when he tells Hanatarou to get Rukia away from him because he couldn't be sure he wouldn't hurt her as well). Either way, they're not suited for a team effort like the war in fake Karakura Town would have been if Kubo actually knew how to write more than three characters at a time. What about Unohana, then? She's not a loose cannon by any means, so that really leaves two options:1. She was sent in order to keep Mayuri and Kenpachi in line.2. Her own bankai is also indiscriminately dangerous.Or so my fanwank theory goes.
>>41271Except for Bakuya's and Gin's, which pretty much are exactly 'the same, but better'.
>>41256My guess, it turns the manta thing into a nigh-Lovecraftian abomination that's able to drain the health from people and transfer it to others. If you've played Pokemon, think "Leech Life" but on an OMGWTFhuge scale.
Kinda predicted Gin, inside my head. I knew he wouldn't have anything flashy, and a super-fast sword seemed fitting with his already gun-sword. I expected more bending or right-angles though.Anyway, shall we all consider what exactly this is all building to? Aizen said that the Hogyoku is beginning to understand his 'heart'. However, in Bleach, the 'heart' is the bond between people and things, so is the Hogyoku beginning to understand whatever bond it is Aizen has?Bearing in mind that Aizen says that everyone should fight alone for be strong, and so presumably askews bonds; he's partially right to, as he has used people's bonds to wreck people's shit (see: Hinamori). Also, something that has been puzzling me. Why is Gin afraid of death? It doesn't seem like he's scared of Aizen or his power, indeed by all accounts those two get along...as well as people like Aizen and Gin can get along. So, what is it? It still obviously has something to do with Aizen, as these were the only two captains with him. Perhaps it is something to do with 'purpose'. I would suggest that, much as Aizen gave a purpose to Wonderweiss, he has shared his/given a purpose with Gin, and so now Gin is afraid to die before he can fulfill it. I mean, otherwise, why would a death god be afraid to die, when he already knows he'll just join the karmic cycle of life? It must be because he, Gin, feels that he has something he HAS to do, beyond lazing around with his power and keeping bureaucratic wheels well-greased.
>>41286I guess.Couldn't he also just really like being alive?
>>41271Just Tousen's. When I saw it create a dome, I instantly knew it was related to his blindness.
>>41271I did predict Gin's, but then dismissed it as a possibility because it would be too lazy and boring.Kubo I am disappoint.
This is from Kubo's twitter.I guess it's his? Someone else's?
Because only the best tables have quotes etched into their legs.
>>41346Hmm. There's an Aizen quote on the leg. Are the other quotes taken from other works?
Bleach padding:Now with 50% more Chad and Renji vs Hollows.
>>41366At least Chad's getting to do something, Jesus Christ.
>>41367 can't really argue with that. Behold my new power! The arm of the devil! It's ability is to kick ass once and then be outclassed for the next forever.
Aaaaaand we have spoilers. Urahara shows up. WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING?
>>41368that pissed me off I liked that power
>>41371EEEEEEEE!
>>41378Well then you should watch. He uses it twice with the exact same footage each time.
>>41371There's more to the spoilers, though. And we actually learn what the hogyoku is. It's a living, sentient being with the ability to grant a person's deepest desire. Rukia was able to give up her shinigami powers because she still felt guilty about using then after killing Kaien. Orihime and Chad, after coming in contact with Rukia, were given powers because they both felt inadequate. It turned the Vizards into half-Hollows because Urahara wanted to save them from becoming full Hollows. It made perfect Arrancar for Aizen because he wanted a perfect army. Basically, it's every possible plot device you can think of, all rolled into a neat little ball you can fit in your pocket.Naturally, regular /a/ is bitching about this.
>>41382as would I it seems lame
>>41382Well now we know how to destroy it, don't we?
>>41421You can't deny that Eva-01 In A Sombrero would be the best manga ever.
More like AWESOME Entrances: The Manga.Seriously, I haven't laughed this hard at a chapter in ages.
>>41432 It would have much to say on the subject of putas.
I find myself on pins and needles, praying Gin continues to live throughout this fight. Damn Ichigo's cocky little "I got this guy in a few more minutes!" COME ON, GIN! Starscream your way outta this mess!I figure the hogyoku super mcguffin will erase the boundary around the King's Realm, so Aizen will no longer need the key.
>>41445That would fit into the whole thing of Aizen being a dick but not really killing anyone who's good.I mean, look at what he did with Halibel. Regardless of whether he won or lost personally, he could see that, eventually, Halibel would lose due to the sheer number of opponents left for her, and then, after the battle, she and the rest of the remaining arrancar would likely be killed for supporting Aizen. But now, from Aizen trning on her and disgarding her, everyone will see the Arrancar as simple tools in Aizen's plan, and won't kill them for being decieved like they, too, were deceived. Essentially, by almost killing her, Aizen has saved her life, and the life of every other Arrancar still alive on the field.
The last page got me more excited for a chapter of Bleach than I've been in a while.
>"JUST WHEN I WAS THINKING 'I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE,' YOU FLEW IN, SO I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON."AHAHAHAH ISSHIN YOU ARE THE BEST.
>>41448>>41455*nod nod*
>>41382So hogyoku is the materialization of the deus ex machina
>>41485If this had been the original plan the whole time, maybe BLEACH will finally take a turn for the unpredicted.
i don't know why i keep reading this when it keeps going nowhere. a fight takes at least a full two volumes to complete and it's like watching every fight in slow motion. But just to see [spoiler] Urahara show up and shoot Aizen without having to give a 40 chapter speech before doing it made it ALL SO WORTH IT. it's like fucking finally! THANK YOU. just shoot the bastard. god!
>>41491I'm kinda wondering why Urahara shot him there. I mean, was that where he was aiming?
>>41497Center mass? Or maybe he was trying to knock the Hogyoku out?
>>41500Right, but if so then he missed someone who was apparently completely unaware. I'm used to everyone having pinpoint accuracy at this point, unless they're just throwing their attacks around left and right; the reason said attacks don't connect is that the target dodges or blocks them.. . .Wait. Urahara hit him immediately after Aizen started powering up. What if he'd been waiting for that moment? What if that attack did more than just punch a hole in Aizen?
I wish I had that joke picture from earlier in the series."This is my bankai [pulls out a gun]"Haha....Urahara is the best.
>>41504
>>41509Thanks!
I hate what Bleach has become. I used to fucking love this manga, and it used to be the only one of the Big 3 that I felt had a decently handled anime (aside of some of the movies). But now Kubo has destroyed almost everything I loved about the series: the fights are boring, the art is boring, many characters have been raped and the rest sidelined, the pacing is shit, the comedy is almost nonexistent, THE LIST GOES ON. Even the anime is just down to FILLER ARC FILLER ARC FILLER ARC because Kubo can't get his shit together, though at least the anime is still funny and has good music. And the most recent Adult Swim Night really didn't help, because Adult Swim reset the airing schedule and we spent the entire block crying about how Bleach used to be fun.
>>41556Cool story, bro.
Come on Kubo, bring this guy back.
>>41565He was the Shinigami King all along.
>>41556Yeah pretty much. At least we still have some good character running around in this orgy of awfulness, like Urahara.Kind of reminds me of Scryed except instead of a terrible series with a bunch of good characters, Scryed was an average series with one good character.
>>41565
>>41556>Bleach Anime>Well-HandledLiterally the only thing I have to do to disprove this claim is embed this horrible, scene-destroying song.
>>41575But I LOVE that song.
>>41575Aw... But I actually like this song.
>>41576>>41577HOW. It's awful, the singer can't sing, and it doesn't fit Ichigo at all. This song is responsible for MURDERING almost every otherwise awesome scene in the anime by its presence. The only time it was any good was when Aizen INTERRUPTED it.
>>41578I remember a song like this in another anime. It'd pop in during fight scenes and make them lose all tension.
>>41579>>41575Frowning so hard right now.I must frown harder.
>>41575>>41579>>41578HERETICS FUCKING EVERYWHERE!
>>41575I for one enjoy the flamboyantly gay fight song. At least it isn't the lame ass musical.>>41579Yeah, that song is pretty fucking cheesy.
>>41579Oh wait that's the other song. Not quite as heretical. I thought it was a nice, if really cheesy, to wrap up a lot of the scenes it was used in.
>>41556It's nowhere near my top of the list, but some of the awesome moments keep me reading.Like Isshin showing up, I stood up and screamed fuck yes, because I have no other joy in my life and comics let me pretend I have friends.I...I mean because it was awesome.
Bleach padding: Now with 50% more Menoly hesitation.
>>41575You hate Number One? But I love that song!
>>41621Trucking along 2 chapters an episode.Aw yeah.
>>41575if you hate Number 1 yer just NO FUN.
>>41621Actually, it's interesting what they've done with this scene because it kind of changes the meaning. In the manga it's obvious that since Yammy just beat the crap out of Menoly, it's clear that Loly is just trying to save her own skin, and Orihime is just there because of course Loly was trying to kill her a few seconds ago. But in the anime, Yammy delivers a beat down to Loly, Orihime heals her, and THEN Loly attacks Yammy. It's like how in DBZ where in the Manga it's obvious that Freeza clearly aimed to kill Piccolo first, but in the Anime he aims at Goku instead, Piccolo pushes him out of the way, and then he gets hit.
>>41625I've been clean of that song for over 2 years but thanks to this thread it's stuck in my head again. I HATE IT. IT'S SO BAD YET SO GOOD. MOSTLY BAD.
I don't really pay attention to the anime so I just now saw ending 23 when /a/ directed me to it.HOLY FUCKING SHIT, WHY CAN'T THAT BE THE SERIES, IT WOULD BE SO GLORIOUS!
>>41700I remembera long time ago reading a post of someone wishing that Bleach had followed the theme of its earliest title pages and been about a ragtag group of fashionable teen grafitti artists who mucked about the city. That ED is kinda like that.
>>41700>>41701Picture Bleach written by Ken Narita. That's what that ED is.
>>41702Really? I don't remember there being that much blood or dismemberment.
>>41705Well it's only a preview.
>>41701
>>41701>>41710So... Basically Bleach Set Radio.
>>41711Actually, the idea of Magic users using spray paint and graffiti to cast spells or make magic weapons seems pretty bitchin' now that I think about it.
>>41712Holy shit, I'd read the everloving fuck out of that.
>>41712I'd read that book and I would love it.
>>41712They'd be able to draw magic circles with extendable blades on their roller skates.Rad.
That series basically exists, it's called Air Gear and it sucks.
>>41719>Air Gear>sucksI happen to love Air Gear. It's so unrepentantly over-the-top.
>>41720TTGL is over the top.Gao Gai Gar is over the top.DBZ is over the top.Air Gear is just retarded, as are all of Oh Great!'s works. He's a decent artist, but needs to find a partner that can actually write.
>>41720Yeah but....rollerblades from heaven that choose their wearer? When it was about HARDCORE SUPER ROLLERBLADING I was all about it, but it got kinda dumb.Still kinda fun to watch, but I'm not going to argue anyone for it.
>>41721>>41725I don't know about you two but I certainly didn't read Air Gear for its plot
>>41740That's why it can't be good. It's terribly written. It CAN be enjoyable, but that doesn't make it not bad.
>>41742I agree that Oh Great! can't write for shit, but it doesn't suck. A series sucking implies lack of enjoyment. Tits 'n Tricks is fun. Stupid, stupid, stylish but oh god stupid fun, but fun.
>>41712Awesome.>>41718Aaaand you lost me.
http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/402/Chance of success: 0%But it's still pretty damn cool.
>>41884To summarize:
OH GOD DAT COLOR PAGE
>>41888Aizen's transition form looks hilariously bad.
God I am so tired of this. SO TIRED. Go away, Aizen.
>>41884Yeah, Aizen will have a contingency plan. But so will Urahara. I'm actually stumped. Who IS the bigger chessmaster here?
>>41892Since we still have at least 2 arcs to go and this just HAS to be the last fight with Aizen, I'm betting on Uruhara.
Aah, Bleach's padding. Now with 50% more Rukia needing help.
Also Ishida goes down a floor in order to fight a bit with Yammy before he goes with the land mine trick.
So Urahara is L? Come to think of it, that would explain why I like him so much.
>>41894Aizen hasn't finished his transformation so I really doubt it, If someone is transforming in ANY Anime and they get hit by something Giant and explod-y, Expect them to walk out of it all cool in their new form.
I love Urahara so much.SO MUCH.I hope we get some more backstory on him again.
Actually, besides the recap, there didn't seem to be any padding in this episode. And see, I told you they'd just retcon Gin's eye colour now that Kubo has indicated what it is.
>>42371Cool spoilers bro
>>42372>actually caring about the plot of Bleach
>>42378But this ISN'T plot, and it's still something you don't want spoiled.
...Wait... I'm trying to fully grasp everything here.If Aizen is at all to be believed the Hogyo-howeveryouspellit is responsible for the entire plot so far? Well the only question I have concerning that is why did Urahara put it in Rukia in the first place?
>>42382He was hiding it because he realized how dangerous it was but couldn't find a way to destroy it.As for why he specifically picked Rukia, I don't know, maybe just because she was the most readily available or because since she's supposed to be strong enough to protect it/herself it but low-rank enough (because of Byakuya) to not be in danger very much.
>>42383The Hogyouku made him pick Rukia because Rukia's wish was strong enough...?
Oh wow, as soon as I read this week's chapter I remembered the name of this thread. I hadn't laughed this hard in ages, thanks guys.
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/68739147/2Here we go.
>>42393So Say We All.
Kubo you are complete shit.
... There's something about this that bothers me... But I can't immediately place it...
>>42397THERE! THAT'S BETTER!
Why did no one mention this when speaking of the spoilers? Also, I probably don't hate Aizen's form as much as some people but him keeping his eyes makes it look like he's wearing a bag over his head.
Reasons I thought this chapter was pretty neat-Urahara being genre savvy.-Did Aizen just causally rip the kido out of his body with his bare hands?-Aizen's new form might be bland- but now he's actually fighting, and in a cool acrobatic style to boot. -Cool teamwork between Isshin and Urahara? -And Yorouichi too? -And she's being the biggest powerhouse in the group? Very cool.
>>42401"(Aizen)'s actually fighting, and in a cool acrobatic style to boot." (not greentext because that makes the spoiler mark not work)Yeah, I was happy about that too; the whole "I barely have to move to win" thing was only cool to show off his power, not for "real" fights.Maybe this whole transformation thing was just an excuse for Kubo to give him a form that's easier to drawn doing weird flips and crap. Capes, jackers, and semi-long make it hard to drawn people in motion. That's why most superheroes wear skintight suits.
>>42402I suspect he's also setting things up for Aizen's "look" to develop further, whether it's via further evolution (like Tousen's mask growing teeth) or just getting part of his shell/skin blasted off.>And spoilers work with greentext so long as you put the formatting before the ">".
>>42402I think his "stand there, use illusions, single slash to the stomach when they let their guard down" strategy he'd been using only worked so well because everyone he used it on was ALREADY hypnotized. Now that he's met people he doesn't have that advantage over, he actually has to pull his legwork, and it is quite stylish, I must say.
>>42383>Hogyoku makes Rukia lose her shinigami powers because she still feels guilty over Kaien>Urahara lends Rukia an untraceable Gigai with the specific intention of hiding the hogyoku. If he had heard about the Kaien incident, I bet he would have selected Rukia based on that.
I just realized Aizen's new form is a full body Hollow mask.
>>42498Did you hear Tiki? Squaresoft merged with Enix!
>>42500
Am I the only one that is really creeped out by Aizen's appearance?
>>42514Again, I would have if it weren't for those freaking eyes, which are drawn in a way that makes it look like they were tapped on.I don't think it matters anyway, judging from the fact that Yoruichi cracked it open it was probably just a cocoon or something. On the last page it looks like it's about to come off.
>>42522damn I didn't even think about that. I was wondering why it cracked so easily.
Don Kanonji episode was just on.God it's been SO long since I've seen that. Haven't watched it since it first got subbed. Hilarious. But Isshin being there seems so much more significant now....
Damn it, why can't it be the Chad and Karin show.
>>42557Because it should be the Shinji and Don Kanonji show instead.
>>42555A bad sleep schedule on Saturdays is actually getting me interested in Bleach. Especially if it has more of THAT.
>>42570There isn't
Adult Swim Night is the best thing on /a/.Nothing it has produced since can match U MAD NINO though.
>>42596Except for a couple omake/filler episodes in the anime. Remember, Karakura Superheroes and Karakura-Raizer?
>>42555Don Kanonji is boss.
>Don Kanonji>FunnyHe is the only part of Karakura Town that I do not miss even a little.
>>42646You don't know how to laugh.
Ishida vs Ulquiorra has been expanded on.That seemed like something they would do.
>>42755Truly a gruesome... uh...burn.
>>42756*Sigh*And he threw a rock at him instead of his arm, too.
>>42774I almost didn't notice that part was different.Actually, comparing it now, that one was 3 chapters instead of 2.
New chapter is out:http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/93663580/1
>>42799That chapter. Was awesome. And all they did was have a chat.
>>42801I won't say Bl*ch *s st*rt*ng t* p*ck *up, because that would jinx it, but still, cool chapter.Gin's Bankai is unexpectedly cool.
holy shit another passable chapter. stop getting my hopes up blech.
Did..did Ichigo just block that attack with his face?Successfully?
>>42840It's okay, he was wearing a mask.
>>42840Can't help but notice here how he's gone one eye completely normal and one eye completely demon, as opposed to some mixing. I guess it really is going to stick this way until we get to find out what the hell is going on with that transformation now.
Fuck year, surprisingly good chapter.
>>42849Huh, you're right. It's still kinda ambiguous, but the fact that it's happened repeatedly makes things pretty clear-cut.
Remmber when Bleach was good?
>>43008Is it actually a rule that someone has to say that every tenth as if this was something that hasn't been said a thousand time before, or do you just like being annoying?
>>43010everyday is repost day.
>>43010 i just wanted to put the vid there
>>43012Would have been nice if you had said something infinitely less annoying like, "I miss this opening" or "I forgot how catchy this song was"...Sorry, I don't mean to seem like I'm picking at you.
>>43018 Okay Tiki, he has realized he made a mistake. No need to drag it out like Hueco Mundo.
You know, it's amazing what a better translation can do to one's understanding of something. This page was infinitely improved by both giving a decent description of the maguffin's power and doing so in a way that gives us yet another classy Aizen line.
>>43036SUCH BETTER TRANSLATING.Is there a website where i can read this online? I am not an expert on good quality manga scanlation sites.
>>43228I'm not sure which translation that was, but mangatoshokan is probably a good site if you want multiple ones.
>>43228>>43229It's Maximum 7.And yeah, it's surprising how much a better translation can do to improve Bleach. You'd think there'd be plenty of other titles where it stood out more.
A bit more extension on this fight, but interestingly enough, it doesn't really go on that long.
>>43266I didn't notice until I saw it in the anime, but checking back, Ulquiorra's eyes do in fact change back to normal here.Huh.
>>43268Do you think it's possible that Bleach has been good all along; it's just the bad translation that makes it seem bad?
>>43272I consider that possibility with everything I read that's been scanslated. And even take things with official translations with a grain of salt.
>>43272>>43273Of course, the opposite can also be true; a good translation can also cover up cliched and boring writing and inject life into the characters.
>>43281So much this. Though I don't know if Yukimura Makoto's dialogue for Vinland Saga is amazing in Japanese or not, I love love love what the scanlators do with it.
>>43281 I don't know, I think Bleach's problem may be some combination of both with people mostly caught up in their expectations of the latest chapter and story direction being terrible regardless of what happens.
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/91349233/1Guess I was wrong about that being an intermediate form. They cracks didn't make it fall off like a shell, he just regenerated it.
>>43293isshin's soul slayer... huh. i wouldn't think parentage would mean sharing the nature of your zanpakuto. There's no way their soul slayers have the same name, right?
>>43297. . .You know, is it just me or is there some kind of family resemblance between Isshin and Zangetsu?
>>43298Yes yes yes! I'm so glad I'm not the only one to have thought this!
So there will be like five volumes of them throwing Mad Shit at Aizen and Aizen either going "just according to dear-ol' uncle Keikaku" or "Bitches please get that weak shit out of here".
>>43308I am completely okay with this.
Ouchies. Also, the quality of Kubo's writing has definitely improved. If there's one thing he's good at, it's magnificent bastardry, and seeing Urahara and Aizen attempt to out-keikaku each other has been a treat.
>>43315yeah, not necessarily.he could sum up everything nicely in so few words, but he wants to keep a job.
>>43293I'm still thinking it's too early to call if it's "Final Boss form" Aizen yet.
I think Kubo's writing has finally come back and bit him on the ass. This drawn out fight with Aizen is Kubo trying to give it a 'final battle feel' after neglecting giving this fight any foreshadowing or build-up.
I hate this stupid form of Aizen's. He's much too attractive to be completely covered up like this.
>>43321 Really? You can't just think of it as a full-body condom?
>>43321
>>43339Oh, come on. Do you honestly think I read Bleach for the story? Really, MAtt?>>43336That's like the anti-sexy.
TONIGHT.
>>43448 Well he is a troll.
>>43459Great, now I will always associate Yammy with THIS.
>>43448I apologize Nurse. I soul searched myself and realized only read this for eye candy as well.
Bleach Padding - now with 50% more Rukia, Chad and Renji vs Yammy. It's actually kind of a neat sequence even if you already know it amounts to nothing.
>>43650Also, that was about 2 1/2 chapters there, so they don't leave you hanging on Hitsugaya's fate.Which is odd, because I was fully expecting "TO BE CONTINUED" when that happened.
>>43650>The most of Yammy's release form is colored the same as his regular skin.I supposed that makes sense, but that just looks kind of wrong.
>>43651Even though I knew this was coming...I still mad.
http://mangastream.com/read/bleach/29570862/1Ichigo stands around for 20 pages... there, I saved you five minutes.
>>43651Repostin' this because you reminded me of my UNENDING FURY
>>43661It'll be interesting to see how the anime handles the pacing. Will we see more of Kira and Komamura reacting to what's happening? That's my guess.
>>43661OK, so we WERE right, and it was just a "chrysalis (st)age.Happy now, Nurse?
>>43666
>>43662 The concept of Nurse as the Witch amuses me to no end.
>>43666But the result gave him a mullet. Now I kinda want him to get back into the shell.
>>43679...Okay, yeah, that is sort of gay. But he's got those sexy hollow eyes going on and still hnnnnnnngh fucking Aizen mang
Wow, he actually remembered that Wonderweiss broke the pillars, and so the baddies can go to Soul Society.Sad we didn't see the conclusion of that fight, though.
Zombie Powder look alike much?
So Ichigo has become the biggest wuss in the series.
>>43691>Ichigo has become the biggest tool in the series. This is also true.
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-06-02/crunchyroll-to-simulcast-bleach-tv-anime
>>43694Hm, guess that means Dattebayo will drop Bleach, then.
>>43695They've apparently been expecting this.http://dattebayo.com/pr/134>dated May 24
>>43694I have never been to crunchyroll before are they the kind of site that would charge for that?
>>43697If you're a member (which costs subscription fee paid monthly or yearly) you can watch it everything in HD (when it's available) and the simulcast just about an hour after it airs in Japan. If you're not a member you can only watch crap in standard definition and have to wait a week before getting to watch simulcast stuff.
>>43699meh I can just wait a week. at least One Piece is still free
The best part of Bleach continues to be the chapter titles.
>>43729This may very well be the only universally accepted truth about Bleach.Oh and I adore the way Tite draws hands. Gives me an art boner.
>>43732>>43729All Bleach chapter titles are either hilarious or awesome. This results in a series that has both "Dark Side of the Universe" and "Super Chunky from Hell" as titles.
>>43733Don't forget "Quincy Archer Hates You".
>>43733Let's not forget "Four Arms to Killing You" (which would admittedly makes sense in the context, except for Kubo needing to check his grammar) or "Satan from Orbit" (which did not make any sort of sense).I'm pretty sure he spends his free time thinking up names for albums, then using them for chapters.
>>43756Satan From Orbit would be a kick ass band or album name
>>43757My thoughts exactly.
>>43733The only bad part is when you want to find a certain chapter you'd normally look to the titles to give yourself a clue. With Bleach, this is not so.
>>43756Eagle Without Wings 2 [EXTREME BATTLEMASTER MIX]
>I'm pretty sure he spends his free time thinking up names for albums, then using them for chapters. That makes complete sense AND provides a great M.O. for all kinds of situations.
Also, rereading the chapter, I realized that Isshin's line here probably means that you'd have to be on a level comparable to Aizen in order to sense him. Which, if correct, would have implications of note for Ichigo.Gin's stepping out, so we can assume Matsumoto's gonna be passing info about him on to Ichigo instead.
>>43801Prolly gonna ask them not to kill him or something.
>>43812That is, if she's not going to go with / follow them anyway.
>>43791Yes, that was where I first realize the "names for albums" thing.>>43793I just try to remember chapter numbers. It gets easier the more you do it, plus it helps you remember the order of events and such.
I dunno, guys, I find there's usually some sort of logic behind Kubo's chapter names. It's insane troll logic, but it's enough for me to connect them to the content or the chapter.
Would you read, /jam/?
WOULD YOU?
>>43817Then how does Eagle Without Wings 2 relate to Eagle Without Wings 1, not extreme battle master mix?
>>43839There were only two "Eagle Without Wings" chapter:1. Eagle Without Wings2. Eagle Without Wings 2 [EXTREME BATTLEMASTER MIX]Are you sure you're not thinking of "WINGED EAGLES" and "Winged Eagles 2" (yes, that capitalization is accurate)?
>>43844But there's like 50 chapters between them and their titular sequels. The link is?
>>43845It's actually more like exactly 150 chapters (238/388 and 239/389).I admit that I don't understand what the relation is. All of them are a reference to Aizen's statement to Hitsugaya that "An blade wielded without hatred is like an eagle without wings." but the only time that was relevant was in Winged Eagles 2 where Hitsugaya mentions that. The first Eagle Without Wings/Winged Eagles didn't have Aizen in it and all Hitsugaya did was wake Ichigo. It was about how the Soul Society wouldn't help rescue Orihime because they thought she turned traitor, Tatsuki calling out Ichigo for excluding her for everything including what's happened to Orihime, and Urahara giving Ishida, Chad, and Ichigo a way into Hueco Mundo. The second set was Ichigo's surprise attack failing because of Aizen's shield but then everyone decides to help Ichigo and gang up on Aizen.Maybe it's something to do with how both chapters had the characters go from being victimized to doing something about it? Maybe the first one's referencing how Ichigo now had a personal reason to want to fight Aizen himself? It's anyone's guess.
Compared to the manga, this episode was really weird. It's chapters 366-358, but only the Hitsugaya vs Harribel parts, and including Starrk's Cero from the beginning of 359 (albeit with a lot more padding).
>>44034Although I called padding from the healing station it's been used in a much more interesting way than I had expected.Basically, the whole episode plays up the "Sacrifice" aspect of Harribel.
>>43756>makes sense in the context, except for Kubo needing to check his grammarWOLVES AINT HOWL ALONE
>>44034My rage for the next episode is an almost palpable thing. Are Dattebayo actually subbing any more after this one just gone? Now might be a good time for me to stop...
>>44052this is gonna be the last one according to the sites.
So, when do we find out how Yoruichi is able to transform into a talking cat?
>>44057Hougyokou did it.

Hot FUCK, it's pages like these that I'm still reading this goddamn trainwreck. jesus christ.luck gandor get the fuck out of bleach and cut your hair you do not even use a sword you kill people with your own arm
>>44062Did that train/janitor have a spinal cord?
Good to see Ichigo got over his case of Pussyitis.
>>44063Well, it HAD one.Not so much any more....hnnnnnnnnghaizen.
>>44061So another week of who gives a shit. Also lol hyperbolic time chamber training.
>>44067> Also lol hyperbolic time chamber training.Actually, if you go through it right, it won't just compress time but let you travel through it.
Good god, I've been waiting years for this moment.
>>44078Was the AGAIN? referring to his Mom?
>>44079His mom dying was the first time, but the "again" probably refers to more than a few times.
is Bleach gonna take a break next week like One Piece is?
>>44082Unless it was for a holiday (in which case they would assume the readers know), it would have said so at the end of the chapter.
Holy crap. Sorry for doubting you, Kubo!
>>44086ah I Don't know what comics are published buy who in Japan I just keep track of Bleach and One Piece really.
>>44079>>44080. . .Huh. I never thought about how Ichigo's background tied into his creeping Heroic BSOD that's been active ever since the Arrancar first showed up.>>44088There are two things going on atm that really baffle me.-What the hell's gonna happen with Rangiku? Wait, I suppose she could show up in the place where Ichigo & Isshin are now. I guess the root matter is what the hell is up with Gin.-So. . .Tatsuki and Those Two Guys are finally going to see some action. . .against god-tier Aizen? Will the foreshadowing about his power level being weird mean they can actually stand against him for some reason? Also, favorite moment this chapter was definitely Aizen just looking at the train thing, and clearly having one of those "Hey, I bet I could. . ." moments.
Goku is training Gohan in the hyperbolic time chamber so that he can become a super saiyan before the final battle?Been there, done that. Also I don't like Aizen's "new form". He just looks like a dirty hippie.
Now Unohana can save everyone without distraction.
>>44181To be fair, this was actually set up rather well for Bleach. In the very first visit to the Precipice World, it was established that the place's time-fuckery meant that it would be great for training... were it not for the Janitor, which comes by every week to kill any foreign organisms in the place. But Aizen killed the Janitor, so...?
>>44189That makes me feel like Aizen ALSO planned Ichigo staying there and training. He sensed from Gin that Ichigo was a disappointment, so he has a rough estimate of how much he could advance with training, so he gave him the opportunity to train before he meets up so he can EAT HIM and he'll taste better or something.
>>44193Obviously Aizen's bankai allows him to take over someone else's body, and Aizen wants Ichigo to be in peak condition when he takes him over.Either that or he wants Ichigo's Hollow Form to get ultra super powerful, and use the hokyouku to make Ichigo into an Arrancar AND a Vizard, go Ressurecion, and then ride him into battle like a giant dinosaur-horse.
In before Aizen saves the universe.
>>44199Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight. ... Wait...
>>44198THIS would be fucking awesome. Somebody who can draw make this real
>>44198 Bleach: Fuck Subtlety.>>44062 Aizen is like some sort of anti-super robot hero. He just kicked reason to the curb for the lulz....Oh god, I want to see Aizen in a super robot anime so bad right now. When were you ever under the illusion that I couldn't turn 1% into 100%?
>>44387. . .Aizen is Light plus Kamina?
>>44469 That's... surprisingly apropos.
So I finally got around to getting farther in the series than Volume 20, and you know, this isn't so bad so far. I mean, I really thought we were gonna see Hell next in this series, but I think Hueco Mundo's the next destination, based on what I've seen so far. When is this supposed to start sucking?
>>44476Yeah, that's about the same reaction I'm having.>>44522 Your mileage may vary. I notice that the perceived decline for a shounen series always seems to correspond to the point where the reader gets caught up, rather than reading the story arc in one fell swoop. If nothing else, it's a significant factor. But to me, Soul Society's conclusion was the peak. Bleach is still decent, sometimes great, but that was definitely the peak.
>>44522Around the middle of Hueco Mundo. While you read, take note of the fact that Bleach is weekly.
I'm finding the padding in these episodes to be quite decent, actually. There's still moments like flashbacks to things that happened a few minutes ago, but I think the other bits expand on the fights in an okay way.
KUBO!YOU MOCK MY PAIN!
Calling it: Tatsuki's powerup is a magical girl transformation sequence. Complete with ribbons, a wand, a speech on justice, and partial nudity."In the name of--ICHIGO, STOP LAUGHING WHILE I'M TRYING TO SAVE YOU, DAMN IT."
>>44058So talking about the Hougyoku and the fact it let the desires/wishes of those near it to be granted don't you feel that it was also the cause of the quick death of the espadas? I mean SS side wanted to destroy the enemy at all cost, sacrificing themselves if necessary but on the case of the espadas they didn't have any real motivation than "we do it cuz Aizen told us", also Aizen said he was testing it but how could he? then oh all my espadas were defeated except for #3 but since I have seen enough I don't need her anymore. So any thoughts about it?
