So yeah, we hit the 50th thread.Yeah!!!!!!!!IRC: #bluhbluh @ espernet If you need help with the IRC, just ask and we'll deliver.>>92240Noooo, Crabdad! ;A;
>>92992Awww, I love you, too! OH YOU FUCKER Just kidding, still love you, I never even noticed that. Might explain why I like him so much.>>92984>>92987I had the song in my head and couldn't get it out until watching the video of Europe's Live Final Countdown tour. Then I started looking up the soundtrack to The Wiz (thanks to whoever uploaded You Can't Win) and now I have that stuck in my head instead.Rose as DorothyJade as the ScarecrowDave as the Tin ManJohn as the Cowardly LionRose's Mom as Glenda the Good WitchThe Wiz turns out to be KarkatTerezi is the Wicked Witch of the West, and water dissolves her red chalkYES I HAVE THOUGHT ALL OF THIS OUT DON'T RUB IT IN
>>92981That post was magical.Yes, a pen and paper RPG seems like the best medium for a game adaptation, considering the infinite number of alchemizing and prototyping possibilities. Though something more straightforward like a fighting game featuring the characters might allow for a game of the video variety.>>92994Don't worry, I myself have been thinking about who/what from Homestuck corresponds to each card in the Major Arcana. Actually, not just 'thinking', but filling out a chart I got from /x/ some time ago. Because I know how to use my time wisely.
i, uHH, tOLD YOU, i'VE ONLY, uHH, bEEN ON THE FORCE FOR EIGHT MONTHS

>>93002Your Karkat makes think of a drunk and horny grandma.>>92999Goddamn Spleen! I love these so much!
THIS UPDATEWow the kids really do suck pretty hardcore compared to the trolls. Someone make a KarkatWasRight.jpg
Boondollars are used to buy skills. Makes sense in a videogame sort of way.
The trolls only had to deal with Cthulhu being prototyped, otherwise it would have been a clean sweep. The kids are probably gonna have to deal with BEC being prototyped. Not even the trolls could handle that.
Sollux looks awesome in that updateFuck you all
"Whoa" at the continued epicness of what the trolls had to deal with.I'm probably a horrible slowpoke here, but I'm assuming that 'skip to the end' bit was also a convenient way to jump to the end of Hivebent, seeing as how we're looking at the final battle and all.>>93005I think the kids have the potential for every bit of badassery the trolls displayed, the opportunity to show it just hasn't arisen yet.>>93009>The kids are probably gonna have to deal with BEC being prototyped.Well now, that's an alarming thought.
From a game design point of view having meteors as ammunition for psychic characters is a good way to balance them with weapon-using characters. It also makes sense storywise that the meteors would be falling seeing as how that's the primary motivation for the players to begin with. In this way it feels natural and intuitive rather than being obviously there solely for gameplay purposes (hi2u guy who can shoot lasers throwing rocks at a guy who can redirect rocks but not lasers in Sonic06). This is a fairly simple and crude doodle I picked up from MSPAChan but it got a giggle out of me so I figured I'd drop it here. Hope it hasn't already been posted before.
>>93011I really don't think Bec will be prototyped.
>>92981>>92998I have, in fact, been running a once-a-week tabletop with some friends, in the style of a Sburb session. It's been lots of fun. I use the FATE system, because I know it well enough to homebrew/bullshit easily with it, and it's fairly flexible/generic, and leads for good cinematic fights or social conflicts. If people were interested, I could yammer on about how I did homebrew. It would go smoother if they knew the system in question, though.
>>93014 neat
>>93016Describe.I use GURPS for my own games, and I know that after reading Homestuck, I won't make a similar game. But I WILL damn well leave an Alchemizer-style machine lying around somewhere for the PCs to fuck around with.
>>93016yes elaborate please
>>93016>>93018>>93019Yes, do it, maggot. I'm not familiar with FATE but I'd like to see if I could work it in Fantasycraft which I'm at least a little familiar with.
WE ARE IN AUTO SAGEEVERYONE HIT THE DECKi can make one if someone can give me a starting image
>>93023kanaya making sweet love to vriksawait no i am pretty drunk nevermind
Im gonna cry if we don't get to see Eridan's land v_v
>>93009I am getting pretty fucking tired of thisfor the final timeNONE OF JADES PROTOTYPINGS WILL HAVE ANY EFFECT ON JACK WHATSOEVERJohn had one pre medium(harlequin part) and one after Rose had two pre medium (cat and tentacle part)Dave had one pre medium(wings and sword) and one afterSo following the pattern, Jade's prototypings will both be after her entry to the medium, thus having no effect on Jack
>>93025oh god me too but really who even CARES at this point, I want to see our poor beloved kids at this and what they do to make the rifti also want to see rose/kanayaAGAIN disergard because alcohol
>>93026You could leap to conclusions for the Olympics.
>>93024hahaha you dont want me to make an OP image.i dont think you could learn smell-o-vision like terezi if my shitty art blinds you
>>93026Why would you assume this? Hussie loves to break patterns, or maintain them. One prototyping will happen pre-Medium (as far as we know I admit), and it COULD end up being Bec. Maybe with Dread-Dream-Jade post-Medium. We don't know, I again admit.Either way whichever one happens pre-Medium DOES affect Jack. And it only seems like the most likely cause of the Rift at this point (psychotic Jack with Omnipotent code powers?). No need to freak out. :o
So are we encroaching on the end of Hivebent, or is this jump to the final battle a transitional interlude after the Flash before we leap back into the fray?
>>93014This is cute.>>93015Either way makes for good pondering.>>93025I'm sure we will. Though whether it happens soon or pages and pages and pages from now, one can only guess.
>>93026If you're right then that's a very bad thing. Remember how Aradia's kernel-fussing narration mentioned that at least one pre-entry prototyping is required for success? Also I've mentioned this point before, but a Bec prototype isn't as bad as might initially be assumed - remember, whatever Jack gets, the Exiles get too, and they have a Sendificator if it comes to that.
>>93033bec prototyped jack vs. bec prototyped PM oh dear
I am hoping Jade's broken robot becomes prototyped making ROBOJADESPRITE and thus making ROBOJADEJACK.
>>93020>>93019>>93018I will write up a document and put it in Pastebin or something, with links to the two free sources of rules that I use and how I talked everyone through chargen. (Basically a mish-mash of those seen in Spirit of the Century, the Dresden Files RPG, and Legends of Anglerre. Mostly the first one and the last one.)
my major problem is that the fandom actually has some influence on what Andrew puts out ( cripple tav, although im not entirely sure if that was his plan all along or what so q:B) and quite frankly I dont exactly relish the idea of a Bec/Jade'd up jack
>>93045Conversely, just because an idea is popular, does not mean he goes along with it. We were all dead certain it would be Calsprite, after all. We thought Jade would be the Seer of Light, and Rose the Witch of Space. While Bec is a popular contender for the 'oh shit' factor of prototyping, DreamJade, DreamBot, Dead Grampa, and Dead Dog Namesake Halley are also strong contenders. Also like those three or four random stuffed dolls down in the study we all forgot about.
See I still like the idea of Jade's sprite being Dream Jade && Some Kind Of Dog for the sole sake of Jadesprite having her dreams come true, as it were.
>>93046I hope it's the cueball.
>>93048thisi justi just can't help but care you knowabout furries and juggalos and creamsicle birdpeopleof course
>>93051>>93046The cueball and a dog. For Dog Scratch. That was horrible, I'm sorry.
>>93048That's why I assume Bec. With Bec first, Dead Dream Jade second. So then the game breaks, we get symmetry with Davesprite, Jade gets her wish in a horrible fashion, AND we get so much adorable the trolls all vomit a fuckin' rainbow across their Veil before they're pulled into the kid's session and vomit AGAIN.It would be soooo coooooool.
Jade just starts prototypeing litterally everything shes got in the house. the armoers the mummies the siddles the manthro chaps both balls the window her dead grandpa her dead dream self a flute her base some plants she was growing ect ect ect
>>93056Oh god I would enjoy this SO MUCH.
She prototypes her dead dream self (Or some of her dreambot's bits) and one of her furry posters
>>93054I'll allow it!
>>93044Quite familiar with FATE here, and mechanics to a score of other RP systems. Looking forward to see what you produced as a setting-book for SFATE (SFUDGE?).
>>93055I like this idea.
>>93060A setting book? Man, I just sit down with me and my players in IRC and brainstorm what would be awesome for their Land/House/Title, etc.You do stuff like brainstorm Aspects for the player's starting house and neighborhood, and then recycle one or more those in some fashion when you assign Aspects for their land. You make sure the player has an Aspect or two that's compellable relating to their Guardian and you set up a strife so I can teach newbies how social conflicts in FATE work.Signature pieces of equipment and roles like Knight of Time are also represented by Aspects, with the right to purchase related stunts or esoteric skills once you've got the basic Aspect on your sheet and you've invoked it a few time. So an advanced version of Dave's character sheet has 'Knight of Time' or 'DJ Master of the Time-Table' or something on it, a stunt or two that's relevant, and Bullshit Time Powers +4 (Great). or something.
SO how about that new thread?Just sitting there all impudent and unmade.Someone should get around to making it.Maybe.
>>93067Well, it's a good time to begin with.
There you go :D >>93074
>>93020Fantasy craft would be a horrible system for sburb and you know it
