Something I've thought of, on occasion:

Wouldn't Katara eventually have to tell Hakoda he found the man who killed her mother/his wife? Hakoda is a grown, battle-hardened commander, he wouldn't actually have a problem with killing a man. If Katara comes to tell him all this, and I'm pretty damn sure she will, what would Hakoda do?

I believe Hakoda would probably kill the guy, but I don't think he'd be sadistic about it.
More like "hey, you killed my wife, I'm telling you so you know why I'm killing you", then a single blow from his hunting club.

Then he'd probably do a private offering to whatever totem spirits he believes in for giving him revenge/justice.

Figured this would be the right thread for this... Katara's voice actress has a role in the upcoming Scott Pilgrim movie. She's seen quite a bit in the recently released trailer, winging around some sort of whip and says "prepare to die".

It's pretty boss.
