Need pics of Katara being awesome. No shipping please.
Yay Katara!
hope you don't mind some daww
body proportions are completely off, but whatever, its pretty to look at.
Aw, I don't have my avatar folders with me right now :(
>>58895Chun Li? Is that you?
> Katara> No shippingoh God if the shipping stays out of this thread then this is my new home.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Katara ever. I think it's 'cause it really captures an important aspect of her character: if you screw around with anyone she cares about, you're going down. HARD.
My new /co/ face has arrived. In before venture.
>>58979One of the things I like about her, too.
>>58979This is now one of my favorite pics of her too, mainly because of the art style and the nose. niceeeeee
>>58979>>58998Indeed. She doesn't take shit from anyone.
mini dump incoming....gettin' some cheesecake outta the way, I always wondered how this outfit worked....
WARMTH EVERYWHERE
Something really clicks with this outfit, can't put a finger on it....Kyoshi Katara ftw
moar Kyoshi Katara
GAH duplicate file entry>>51109Somber Katara in the book 2 finale octopus stance pose, love the facial expressions in that pic.I'll finish the mini-dump with some BAWWWW material, though the subject is probably the biggest driving force behind her character.
I quite like Katara's fire nation outfit
Katara must have been a secret prodigy to improve so much over the course of maybe six months.
>>59230I don't think it was much of a secret.
>>59236I mean in the sense that everyone in her home village knew she was a waterbender but didn't realize she would be as talented as she is. Took her a while to get the water whip, remember?
>>59241That's not what Katara's underwear looks like!
>>59251Obligatory cliche panty-shot. I mean, just look at the author's name.
>>59241Poor Katara is missing a nipple there. Let's not even talk about her neck. :/
>>59241>>59257And what the hell with her mouth?!And her face in general...?
>>59241this image makes me angry
Which hairstyle do we prefer, people? I really liked her fire nation 'do.
>>59270I like her original hairstyle and when she has her hair let down in the third season.
>>59270I've said it before, but I REALLY miss Katara's old hair style. The hair loopies were far more prominent, for one. Also, I have a somewhat-creepy love for Katara's ears, and her new hairstyle kept them pretty hidden.
>>59221That... seems like an awful lot of water there. Katara could probably bend saliva too. And other... bodily fluids. Bleagh. A resourceful waterbender could be nigh-unbeatable, which makes me wonder how Fire Nation prisons dealt with waterbenders sweating, peeing, etc. For these gross remarks I offer a nice pic.
>>59270I prefer it unbraided.
>Katara must have been a secret prodigy to improve so much over the course of maybe six months.>Took her a while to get the water whip, remember? That was a technique problem. Once she had someone to practice with she got it down. She couldn't see the problems in her form so she couldn't figure out how to correct them.Power with no way to shape it ect. ect.
>>59041I b'awwed and was thinking of how well the lyrics went with the pic, then I suddenly realized the artist was a Zutarian before I even visited her DA site. Damn Zutards need to stay away from my Phantom of the Opera.>>59277That's not Katara, were you just posting a random pic? I also thought about the stuff you mentioned. Realistically it works, but it is rather gross, and probably why it wasn't mentioned on the show. I also tended to wonder about the lack of bathrooms in the prisons (the Waterbenders', Iroh's, Boiling Rock) but maybe I'm being too pedantic.
Maybe this pic is from an AU where Aang is asleep for a lot longer than 100 years...>>59557lol, I fudged it a bit. The artist description says something like "wow, this ended up looking a lot like Katara from Avatar." So it's not technically her but I thought it looked very cool so I suspended my disbelief. :3So guys, is it not hard to find (good) nonshippy Katara art?
>>59221As a fanboy I have conflicting feelings over Kataras armpit water-sabers. Basically that episode is in the top 3 most sexy Katara episodes, thanks to the outfit, some really cute gestures and the bath scene yet to me that act was easily the least attractive thing she ever did, and despite that, it was pretty awesome, and gave Toph a brilliant line.SOOOOO conflicted.
>>59274Fire nation Top-knot for the win.I don't care if it looked like a penis when she turned around. (First scene in the runaway)
>>59581Fact Alert! Girls fart, sweat, and poop. OMG GROSS. :P The Runaway truly is a top-tier Book 3 episode. It satirizes Katara as Team Mom and levels up her bending yet another notch.
>>59588Agreed, only loses a little ground for having an extremely "Full House" Sokka and Toph moment.
>>59588I know that girls do that stuff. It's gross on guys and it's gross on girls too.
>>59588What the fuck Murph, no we don't!Don't lie to him about girls!
>>59611What would you know of girls? You're a bear!
>>59612Wut
woops, forgot my hat
>>59613...seconded?
>>59581I thought it was kinda cool that she did something gross. It showed that she's a good thinker :)
>>59616She's a genius! A sweaty, stinky genius! That aside, since this is the Katara thread, am I the one of the few who thought her actions in The Southern Raiders were perfectly in-character? I know it wasn't pretty seeing Katara in full on Revenge-O'Clock mode, but I still though how she acted made sense, even the way she would snap at Aang and Sokka.
>>59619I thought it was fine, but then again I'm one of those bizarre freaks who loved Katara even when she was being angsty, bossy, mistrustful, or outright bloodthirsty.
>>59619>>59622I agree with both of you. I liked Katara throughout the whole series. I think she acted like how a girl her age would act in her position. People in real life don't just stay one way forever they change according to the situation their in and what has happened before.
>>59619>>59622>>59629Thirded. And CNB, you're not alone.
>>59619>>59622>>59629>>59632Fourthed? And I never had a problem with Katara, because even when it wasn't pleasant to see, it was still her. From the way /co/ talks about her, as if she should approach everything dispassionately and "sensibly," most of that board's residents seem to have grown up with really weird social disabilities.
Yeah, I actually loved how 'The Runaway' let her be everybody's mom without having to apologize for it (much). Sometimes people like/need to be taken care of.I remember in the commentary for... I dunno, 'The Blind Bandit' or something, the creators mentioned that various unnamed people kept asking for Katara to be more damsel-y. I can't imagine why. Why would that make her more sympathetic or profitable as a character?
>>59634/co/ has a somewhat nasty undercurrent of misogyny, which at times doesn't seem entirely feigned.
>>59656Here, here. I keep thinking half the female posters on there are really guys to justify the misogyny. /paranoid
>>59619Southern Raiders: great Katara episode, or greatest Katara episode?"Then you didn't love Mom the way I did."I cringed, but then I sat back and said, 'you got balls, writers.' Her behavior shouldn't have surprised anybody - we've been seeing hints of Katara's vindictiveness since Jet's return in Book 2. I loved that they let her go without forgiving the guy who killed her mother. It's going to take a lot longer than a half hour episode to get her to that point, emotionally. >>59656Thank god it's not just me.
>>59656All of 4chan has a very creepy attitude towards women, from the /a/ssholes with their "OH GOD SO RONERY let me act as though women are perfect dolls who will never so much as glance in my direction" to the most misogynistic "all women are filthy disgusting whores, why won't they sleep with me" threads on /r9k/. It honestly makes me really uncomfortable sometimes.Anyway, here's a cool picture of Katara.
>>59663 I have to say that while those types are there more often than not people do not act as they normally do while on 4 chan if you take 4chan at face value yo ar most often the victim of a hoax
>>59678Oh, I know that 90% of the time it's trolling.
Blooooood.
>>59734Dude. That is fucking epic.
>>59658>"Then you didn't love Mom the way I did."I agree with everyone defending Katara's changing moods as part of being normal for a teenage girl and I was never one of the "Katara's a bitch" crowd, but I really wished she had apologized to Sokka after that.>>59663Agreed, and it also sucks when /co/mrades try to White Knight and put women on pedestals. I'm not saying you are, but I've seen it happen.
>>59734I love the perspective and the water effect, but can't help thinking that Katara's face looks like a Muppet.>>59768The fact that she didn't apologize, and was extremely conflicted about her choice to spare Yon Rha's life, was what made that episode good.
Ah, I love Hina.
>>60281It's like the bastard love child of Water Tribe hair loopies and Fire Nation hair....tentacles. I love it.
The fanart's alright but what I like is the autographs from Mike and Bryan on the bottom.
>>60393
>>58979My God. I didn't think it was possible to draw an ugly Katara.
>>60485I...can't unsee her hankface.
Hina finished!(and dem boobs)
>>60510And... is that a braid in the back, in addition to the other hair dohickies? What has Hina wrought?
>>60510fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfap
>>60510I think this is my new favorite hairstyle.
>>60592Likewise. It combines early Katara with Fire Nation Katara with post-Black-Sun Katara in a way that doesn't feel like cramming too much together. I like to think she wore her hair like this for some time after the finale (even if her ears are hidden :<).
>>61112Grrrr. Too Light.
>>61155Please keep that shit in the movie thread.
>>61247Daaaaaaaammnn.
>>61247Daaaaaaaammnn. seconded Daaaaaaaammnn
>>61247An amazing piece of art.
>>61590This pic = my thoughts exactly
>>61791That's a funny picture, but the reason the Painted Lady showed up at the end was because the river was finally clean. She was that river's Spirit and the pollution was hurting her. The ending of that episode was actually a shout out to a scene in Spirited Away.
>>61792Oh, you and yer smart talk and city ways.
>>61792We're the planeteers. You can be one too.
'Queen of the Cute' is right.
More Katara Cheesecake.
>>63235Cheesecake it may be, it's also got a certain beauty to it.
Fook year.
>>65240Oh wow, I really, really like this!
;_______;
>>65284Is that Liesl's work?LIESLLLLLLLLL!!! /shakefist
>>65285?
She really needs to team up with Namor, Aquaman, and AspenWeird team dynamic, but awesome
Fresh from the Genzoman
>>65476You beat me to it...anyways... what a large forehead she has :P
>>65471Namor's reaction towards his new teammates would be the best part.
>>65485Namor would say something chauvinistic. Katara is angry; OUTRAGEOUS fight breaks out.
>>65500Also, she is just kid.It would be great if she somehow saves him, Namor would probably lose it.Aquaman on the other hand is OUTRAGEOUS with Aspen.
>>65502Delicious Aspen
>>65481kinda overrated artist, isn't him?
>>65507I'm sreeching in my brain that cloth doesn't work that way.
>>65510not even if it's wet cloth!
Katara team-up I like
>>65517But would they be wearing matching costumes, ala Fantastic Four?
>>65518
>>65519
>>65520I'm not very familiar with Aspen/Fathom though.
>>65521Oh well, I'm sure someone is
Not sure about this outfit...
>>65537Ha! I loved those mock-propaganda posters.Anyone got any more of them? I feel a thread idea coming along...
hello nurse
;-;
She has her own team nowShit is so cash
>>68604Truly...They were...an Aqua Teen....Hunger Force
>>68610Yep
>>68604>>68610>>68657...what is the meaning of this?
>>71386My love for this comic has no bounds.
>>71386...I don't get it, is Hakoda concerned because of Katara bad storytelling skills make the situation sound wrong? Has he blue-screened at the amount of information she's pouring on him? Is it a Meet the Parents situation? Is he simply upset that Pakku is banging his mom/mother-in-law?
>>71403Pakku beat up his daughter.Married his mother (parents remarrying at any age is a stresser).Having sex with his his 80 year old mother. And now he's going to hear about Hama.
Something I've thought of, on occasion:Wouldn't Katara eventually have to tell Hakoda he found the man who killed her mother/his wife? Hakoda is a grown, battle-hardened commander, he wouldn't actually have a problem with killing a man. If Katara comes to tell him all this, and I'm pretty damn sure she will, what would Hakoda do?
>>71408I believe Hakoda would probably kill the guy, but I don't think he'd be sadistic about it.More like "hey, you killed my wife, I'm telling you so you know why I'm killing you", then a single blow from his hunting club. Then he'd probably do a private offering to whatever totem spirits he believes in for giving him revenge/justice.
Fresh from DA
>>71452>Fresh from DA>Freshof course, that pic was lifted from another DA entry. Oh DA....
>>65284Is that Liesl's work?LIESLLLLLLLLL!!! /shakefist>>65285?I agree, enough of the fist shaking!http://www.unowen.net/tegaki/dblog.php?u=35867&e=873064< My friend and I both agree this should be able to be used as an away message...
>>71408He may have a hard time murdering some pathetic wretch in cold blood though. Leaving the guy living in terror of a fifteen year old girl may be enough punishment.HTG
That Obama-O/Water-Tribe-symbol works unsettlingly well.
>>71743Yamino = awesome
>>71746That is a great image.
>>71743Epic win.
>>71746Best Yamino comic yet.
Awh yeah, Polynesian waterbending!
>>72396I'm strongly in favor of this.
I think I like the style of this Lackia person.

Everything's Better with Princesses.
Figured this would be the right thread for this... Katara's voice actress has a role in the upcoming Scott Pilgrim movie. She's seen quite a bit in the recently released trailer, winging around some sort of whip and says "prepare to die".It's pretty boss.
>>75719...Who is that again?
>>75719 Katara is Roxanne Richter? HOMG AWESOMEAvatar and Scott Pilgrim: two great tastes that taste great together.
Hells yeahhttp://mooncalfe.livejournal.com/106153.html
>>75719...... her?
