I think it's situational, but it's easier to add characters when they're not directly interacting with each other.

Adding characters doesn't detract from the "immersion" or anything.

Before this thread enters oblivion, I would like to say a few words. One whole year ago, this thread inspired me to take up editing. My first attempts were sloppy; you can scroll up and see for yourself. But I stuck with it. I had teachers who guided me, and were always willing to help out.
