.First, I need a picture. Let’s use this one. The style is easy and I’m very familiar with it. The great thing about nude editing in Flash is that I will be doing the entire body. That means the source material doesn’t have to be in HD or without blurry pixels. This will also allow me to blow up the whole image.
.What I normally do is bring up Photoshop and sketch out how the body will look naked. I only focus on the parts I’m altering. If it’s going to stay the same, I will leave it alone. As long as you know what you’re drawing, it doesn’t matter how you do it, just have it as reference. I’m trying to phase this part out and do it entirely in Flash.
.Next, open up Flash and create a new ActionScript 3.0 file. This will open the stage and you can bring in the picture either by right click and copying it (from a web browser), drag and dropping the picture right onto the stage (from another folder or your desktop), or File > Import > Import to Stage.
.Either press F8 or right click and choose “Convert to Symbol” to convert it to symbol.
.Whether it’s on the bottom or to the side, find your Properties box (If it’s not there, go to “Window > Properties” to bring it up).
.In the Properties box, find “Color Effect” and select “Alpha”. This will allow you to change the opacity of your image. I set mine to 40%. While you’re at it, make sure that the X and Y orientation of your image, located under “Position and Size” in your Properties box is X=0 and Y=0. This will place it in the top left most of your stage.
.Now it’s time to fit the stage for your picture. Whether it’s smaller or larger than what the stage currently is, this will fit it perfectly. Click on any part of the stage (Either the white area or the grey) and go to the Properties box again and look under “Properties” and click on the “Edit” button. This will bring up the “Document Settings” box and find “Match” and choose “Contents”. This will fit the stage to whatever is on there.
.Flash has layers, seen in the Timeline box. This means that you can put work on one layer and work on another, but they’ll be separate because they are on different layers. You will start with “Layer 1” (If you want to rename it, just double click the name, type it in, and hit enter or click away). Lock that layer by clicking the little dot under the lock symbol (Clicking the lock symbol itself locks and unlocks all layers at the same time). Now any work you do on any other layer won’t interact with the locked layer with your picture. This also means you won’t select anything on that layer by accident.
.At the bottom of the Timeline box, there will be a little square icon with what looks like one of its corners peeling up. That’s the “Create New Layer” icon. Click that to get a new layer over the first one.
