I can totally see that being a reaction to this movie, it's bottles a certain magic I grew up with and as such totally enraptured me.

Thinking of seeing Les Miserables, but I haven't seen any incarnation of the story or read the book, should I do it anyways?

I mean, I LOVED Stand By Me. Moonrise Kingdom felt less like a coming of age story and more like Wes Anderson playing with dolls. Not that the acting was bad. The acting was great, but the characters didn't quite ring true.

You'll probably have problem following the story if you've not read the book or seen the play. The pacing is too fast.

But as someone who has read the book, it was fun. Had some slow bits, and they really should have just spoken some parts as all of the forced singing was clearly uncomfortable for a number of actors, Crowe and Jackman in particular.

But I still liked it a lot. Hathaway killed it in her solos, LOOK DOWN is spectacularly menacing, and every time they broke out Do You Hear the People Song I wanted to climb up on the barricade with them.

I'm agnostic and Life of Pi is one of my favourite books.

I don't really see how people get into a huge religion debacle over it.
Pi is a kid that chooses to follow multiple religions, the first part of the book is mostly about how he acquired them and why he chose to do it.

It's a personal story of kid told from first person, I never saw it as preachy.

Pi himself can be cocky at times but he is a young, intelligent teen, they tend to be that way.

Concerning Supernatural, they're not twins, any flirting is just yaoi goggles (shippers gonna ship I guess), the parts where they episodically fight evil (my favorties) unfortunately are interrupted by long storylines about stopping the Apocalypse (there's a lot of "chosen one" crap involved in this, so if you hate that kinda thing, it's a downside). I'm not sure about the underwear model part being used to promote it, never noticed. It's largely about family and classic rock, really.

I thought the "underwear model" thing was a crack at how everyone's good-looking in a classical way in the show. Every show is now. I've given up on finding a show devoid of stereotypically attractive actors, just like I've given up on my dream of seeing a blockbuster, award-winning movie starring and directed by zero well-known people.

Additionally, it's sad that I've grown accustomed to assuming that if I first hear of a celebrity death on Twitter/Tumblr/Facebook (which I did for this one), that I automatically assume it to be false at first. Because I never got a chance to say due to down time:

This would be the best way to make a Gremlins 3:
The movie advertises the most groundbreaking CGI methodology to date and compliments the movie by including a 10 minute documentary at the beginning where they show off the technology of the movie. They center in on a guy displaying an animated gremlin on his computer screen when the program freezes. The documentary's narrator makes the excuse that the technology is so advanced that some computers have trouble running it when a proper gremlin smashes through the screen, grabs the guy by his tie, then starts slamming him face first into his keyboard, laughing that hysterical cackle of theirs. The crew is chased out of the studios as they run a gauntlet of gremlins destroying the set itself, getting dressed up for roles as famous villains, and throwing stage hands off of sets.

We then meet the head gremlin antagonists: The director Gremlins. Each should be a satirical characterization of George Lucas, Micheal Bay, and Uwe Boll.
