So, I saw The Cold Light of Day last week, starring Henry Cavill. I KNEW this guy had SOMETHING to do with Superman, but couldn't be bothered to remember what and only just connected that he's starring in Man of Steel.
Let me just say that he wasn't irredeemably bad in The Cold Light of Day, but he wasn't very good in eat either. The whole movie was pretty bland overall, and he didn't make a very good leading man in it. It probably would have been better if they had Bruce Willis pick up some of the slack for the leading roll and made it about a CIA father getting his family back with the help of his douchebag (he seriously was) Business Consultant son instead of just killing him off in the first 20 minutes[/i]. That would have been more interesting.
The movie did have a few things I liked: The protagonist doesn't just go on a killing spree, and thus has a a body count of one (Which is mainly an accident), they actually took the high route of not torturing a guy, and they avoided having a mandatory romance story (albeit,l in a kind of awkward way in that the female "lead" [spoiler]was his sister).
So yeah, if you want to get excited over Man of Steel and Henry Cavill, skip Cold Light of Day. If you want to ground your expectations more, then go see it, I suppose.
