Next time we saw them, fighting the Russian Death Scythe, Ragnarok talked (briefly). It was from then on he was nothing but sounds and gibberish. They apparently killed Medusa right after getting back from there, so it couldn't have been something she did afterward.
After Asura absorbed Crona, we never saw Ragnarok at all, only Crona's mind. That might have destroyed their shared body, killing Ragnarok but not Crona for some reason.
And about those people in the mad blood spheres (the Russian Deathscythe, his partner, and a town in Ukraine): this might be confusion from poor translation, but is it possibly reversible or are they all dead? Were Maka and Soul just trying to break that sphere open to free that soul from some horrible afterlife?
