That plot twist is so obvious and yet nonsensical that my only conclusion that it will be twisted once more before this is over.

Also, am I expected to believe that Kakashi is 6 in that Chunnin exam flashback? Because I didn't forget about that trivial detail.

It's probably not to set him up as a reliable threat, but as a Shadow Archetype to Naruto. It's for the emotional torque, not the tension in battle.

I still question its validity at this point (the time for setting that sort of thing up would've been years ago), but I don't think the fact that it doesn't make him more frightening is relevant, is all.

I am so happy about this chapter. The Obito thing is SO STUPID and SO FUNNY after years of speculation in that nonsensical direction got shot down, what, 3 years ago only to come back out of nowhere? It's a laugh riot.

What I LEGITIMATELY enjoyed was seeing a bunch of the jounin when they were young.

what happened to rin?
how did tobi gain so much influence over the akatsuki?

That'll come someday, too. Kishi will run out of ideas for what the Sharingan will do, realize he's painted himself into a corner because nobody can defeat the sharingan without utilizing the I'm-Naruto-Dattebayo! Exception, and throw some ridiculous abilities in there, too.

Besides, it just makes sense. Most jutsu is developed specifically to counter other jutsu, so wouldn't the Hyuuga start going "Oh, shit!" the more they found out about the sharingan, and develop something to counter it and only it? Sort of like what Deidara was doing with his covered eye... only, you know, it ACTUALLY WORKS.
