Del'd my account and now I can't make a new one without giving them my cell numberWaaaatAnd the new layout is completely nonfunctional
I wish they would provide the option to use the old interface.
>CAN NO LONGER HIDE YOUTUBE COMMENTS!FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
So the price of having a youtube account is now giving them the opportunity to sell your cell phone number to telemarketers?
>>813Old interface: Related videos by different users which may be interesting.New interface: Keep watching videos on this channel because big accounts (like corporations and ad-heavy youtube professionals) don't want people being interested by some no-name youtuber with an opinion about something. The whole point is to give users fewer options.
>>813>>821
This interface is clunky and cumbersome.I actually have to type in an address to watch someones play list.
I really don't like going back to the previous video I was watching. I used the search option because I want to go to the danmed search menu. Constantly retyping keywords is getting obnoxious.
Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?
>>887Money is always a good idea.
My only problems with the new layout is that it invalidates some of my Greasemonkey scripts, and that you can't play some videos with Adblock turned on. Other than that, I have no problem with it
>>889How on earth is a clunky cumbersome interface supposed to be a good idea?
>>931Because it artificially limits your access to content while placing well-advertised or premium accounts on the top of the only list you now have.Money.
All youtube updates make the site more ugly and gay.
>old account deleted for no reason>go to make new account>type in your cellphone numberwaaaaas?
>>965Google accounts randomly do that now. It's annoying as shit. If you don't want to give them your number, just keep trying until it doesn't ask you for it.
I once got banned for uploading MST3K episodes. So much for circulating the tapes...
They're trying to fix the layout, get it to line up and look niceStill, a long way to go if they want to return the functionality of some of the older layouts
Yeah since they started with this new layout I've been using a Greasemonkey script to make it less crappy. (It still sucks, just less so.) Also, this cell number bullshit is because of Google. Gmail pulled the same thing like a year ago. I went to make a dummy email account to sign up for something about 6 months back and wound up using Yahoo, because I wasn't giving those jackasses my number.
I think the cell phone requirement was put in place to discourage spammers from using Gmail to send out their spam. I think Craigslist did something similar, too.
>>914> you can't play some videos with Adblock turned on.You must have blocked something wrong, bro, because I can browse the new shitty YouTube using AdBlock Plus without problems (Yes, this means no Ads for me).
>>1193Yeah, I've never had problems with Youtube and Adblock.Adult Swim doesn't work at all with Adblock for me, though.
Okay, so is youtube videos loading slow for anyone else?
WHY DID THEY REMOVE THE ABILITY TO HIDE THE COMMENTS!?Pic related. This is how I felt when they added it.
Ripping music from youtube videos. How do I go about doing this?
>>1279Download the video file from youtube. Use Media Player Classic. Start up MPC. File -> Utils -> DSM Converter. Right click -> Add File. Find your file. Right click on the entry with the little speaker/music note symbol next to it. Click Demux. Save. You're done!
>>1280This is the incredibly stupid method which takes too fucking longUsewww.file2HD.com
>>1279http://www.video2mp3.net/index.phpThat's how I do it, anyway.
>>1281It takes maybe thirty seconds. There's no way that's "too fucking long."
Jesus christ what a journey...after numerous conversions, different downloads, endless experiments, I finally found the only way to avoid a copy infringement block if a movie/scene is blacklisted. Literally the only way is to screencapture the footage using fraps (best quality), of course that's also supposing you use different audio, I plan to have other music, but I might wish to have some dialogue too so hopefully a few snippets here and there will be ok. Of course to add to the fail the video skips sometimes because my laptop is not powerful to capture a stream's playback perfectly. My hat is off to you Youtube, you have a pretty resilient system, and I don't consider those people who play with the pitches in music to have beat you, my way is at least closer to the real thing albeit under constrained conditions.
youtube rant...okay I know it's not actually their fault/I'd do the same in their position but I fucking hate that "This video contains blahblahblah. It is no longer available in your country"from germany - so I pretty much have to blame those cuntfaced cocksucking cumguzzling asswipes from the GEMA...
>>1390Are you trying to make a AMV or some dicks like that?
>>1409Things have changed, I was wrong. Get this. EVEN IF you CAPTURE the footage from a film using FRAPS, and it's a completely new file, YOUTUBE STILL can tell and block it. HOWEVER, if you edit the scene with a picture, or combine it with something, edit it a little more so it breaks up, the pattern or whatever it recognizes is lost, than it won't notice it.I'm not sure what you mean by AMV. Also, did youtube seriously just get rid of the information about what quality to watch clips in? Did they seriously just go even more full retard? Pic related.
>>1411It just depends on the video.
>>1411Anime music video.
>>1424oh, lol hell no. I am posting the entire epic soundtrack to a film and using scenes from the film and pictures along the journey. I would have been done by now but I constantly have to go back and forth between uploads to see if this part is going to be blocked or not, and then re-editing it until it works. The ONLY "amv" I have ever seen that was cool...but I'm not doing anything remotely like this.
>>1426This may not be cool, but it's EPIC.
Hey, I wonder what this soccer ball does when you cli-Oh YouTube, you so crazy.
>>970Oh, OK. That's good, because I don't have a cell phone at all.
How come artifact flaws are coming up in yotube videos now, from HD to regular ones...you remember what happened in Independence Day when that started, right?
Until they announce they've just been fuckin' with us and go back to the old page layout?
It the search function not working for anyone else when they watch videos?
Haha oh wow, this autoplay bar is total ass.
>>1800Seriously, is there a way to get rid of it? I know you can get rid of google's new image results by not allowing google to use java.
Is there any way to get Youtube videos to not autoplay?
>>1811http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/82967
>>1812>>1811Easier firefox method:1. Go to tools2. Adblock plus preferences3. Add filter4. Type in youtube.com##DIV#quicklist-bar-container5. Click enter6. Add filter7. Type in youtube.com##DIV#quicklist-bar8. Click enter9. Add filter10. Type in youtube.com##DIV#quicklist-tray11. Click enter12. Click apply or ok
I have no idea how to directly watch a video from my subscriptions. Clicking on a video from the subscriptions just reloads the page. You're supposed to add the videos to your queue but you cant directly access that either. You could watch some random other video and see the queue on a sidebar next to the video but thats stupid. You used to be able to directly click on a single video but youtube wants you to take the looooong way around.I just see who updated on my subscriptions page and go directly to the specific poster's youtube channel and open the videos from there.Seriously Youtube, why?
>>1849Some faggot in a board meeting told them they have to keep changing in order to "remain competitive" with other media websites.
Man, what the hell. When I render a video on Vegas in 720 HD, all my cross fades look fine when I watch it back, nothing is choppy, but when I upload it to youtube, it's keeps having artificats and looking shitty and slow when there's a crossfade.I've experimented with different frame rates and it's still the same thing, is this unavoidable or am I missing something?
