So let's say for some inexplicable reason I want to record myself playing video games. Console gaming, not PC gaming. What would be the most cost-effective way to do this while still getting high quality footage.
Get a capture card, pure and simple.

If you're doing some kind of machinima project, a straight capture card is the way to go, if you just want your video games recorded, stream can do that for you.
