As an artist myself, I feel like it all boils down to materials used, and artistic process. A charcoal drawing is MUCH faster to whip out than a highly detailed pen and ink drawing. Different mediums affect the time it takes to complete them. That's why some painters spend months or even years on a single painting.

Process is another thing. Some artists like to dive right into their work, while others prefer to take their time. There may also be research to look into before making a drawing and so on.

There are a lot of factors that affect the timing of these things.
