I liked the intermission itself, but right after that is when I started lurking the forums, and that's about the time everyone was making up these complicated felt/mc relationship polygons that felt completely wrong.

The Felt/MC just walked around and did things to other things and weird time shit happened so that the characters would interact in different ways. Mostly by killing. At least the humans and trolls are friends, even hatefriends, there's motivation and personality behind the things they say and do to each other.

ib no one cares. I don't judge people for liking Felt, I just don't understand why there's a huge movement for romance and porn of them.

I dunno, I think that intermission is pretty important as regards establishing Jack Noir/Spades Slick vis-a-vis personality, and the other three would have almost no characterization without it.

I suppose that wouldn't make it any more enjoyable, though.

There's less to work with. The intermission characters are all very vague (except Spades--he's not vague only because he is an alternate universe Jack Noir and oh look there's absolutely nothing for him), so I guess it means it's easier because you don't need to think at all. Is it in character? No one knows! That means you can do anything you want with them! They're like those poseable action figures your cousin had when you were kids, and you didn't know who the fuck they were so you could make them ride Barbie convertibles and have tea parties with Beanie Babies and it seemed totally right to you. Then ten years later, you suddenly realise you put Aquaman in a dress and married him off to Venom when you were five. I lost the metaphor somewhere. Oh well.

The point is there's so much Felt slash is because these people are lazy. They chose the characters with the least development (and the smallest chance of getting more) because they don't want to deal with characterization issues.
