While they definitely couldn't count on her to join them, I hold a fruitless hope that Perona might end up tagging along, at least for a while. She's such a bratty princess and it's great and I want to see her interact with all the crew because the hilarity would be endless.
You guys act as if Oda's not going to have a Gondor Calls For Aid moment at some point in this series. When the time comes, Shandians will descend from the heavens, the Strawhats will be flanked by the Franky Family/Galley La, The Kuja Island and Arabasta navies, and who knows who else.At the end of the day Luffy will have himself an armada bigger than Whitebeard's becaue of all the people that the Strawhat's have helped out.

On the subject of Vivi's usefulness: now that she has accomplished the mission that was driving her for so long and has more or less settled down to take responsibility of her kingdom, she isn't likely to go on any big adventures anytime soon. At the most, she'll provide political and/or military support somehow.However, I also think that she'd be a lot less of a dead weight, at least outside of combat. After seeing what went down in Alabasta, she's not going to question the Strawhats' ability to do whatever the fuck they want to. On top of that, I'm certain that some of Luffy's determination has rubbed off on her (as it is wont to do), so she's probably a lot more decisive.Really, Vivi's problem was that she was a more or less normal person who found herself among the protagonists of an action-adventure/comedy shonen manga. The poor girl kept expecting things to make sense.

I'd love for Vivi to come back for at least an arc, maybe to help with diplomatic relations with a more tight country, but I don't think that she'd really fit in the crew as a permanent spot.But she can only come back if Carue does too.
