I love Black Jack (I really do) but I get the feeling it might've indirectly inspired some... less than good attributes we see in modern anime today.

Specifically Pinoko. In how she has the body of a toddler yet is TECHNICALLY 18 or so years old. How she talks in a cutesy slurred manner and also refers to herself as the good doctor's "Wife".

Now, I'm sure Osamu had nothing more than simple humour in mind for the character. I have too much respect for the man for me to feel it could be anything else. But at the same time, reading the character gives me the distinct impression he may be indirectly responsible for a lot of terrible things to come out of modern anime.

The creepy trend of paedophilic themes that we see in anime nowadays? Probably. The guy introduced the good and bad aspects of anime.

Him, Go Nagai and Toshio Maeda are basically the founders of what we see of anime nowadays. And all three of them are responsible for the things we love about anime and the things we hate about it.
