Working on some pixel art. Tell me what you think so far! I need all the encouragement I can get to keep on going.

>>31831Ah, I've read that before. I believe I'm doing everything fine so far.
You're still having problems with "jaggies." It's best to make sure the lines are smooth before you start coloring.I adore the color. But the lines need a lot of work.
First off, stop coloring it. Focus on cleaning up your linework and getting the whole image. With pixel work, you want to try and keep a consistent line weight. Perhaps not always at 1px all the way around, but say lighter parts of an object have 1px line width and deep darks have 2 or 3px. You have this happening on the head, with varied line weight, but it's a bit spotty. Once you get your linework done, then you can worry about coloring.Though, one tip on your current coloring: the lines on the sweater go flat on the chest. It's... A little jarring, especially when the sides create the illusion of wrapping around, and the legs have a nice roundness to them. But that flatness really forces the torso to look like a potato with one side that got flattened out.I WILL say, though, I think the design is really cute, and I'd love to see some more exciting poses, since I think this has a childlike charm to it. You've got some pretty decent grasp on pixel shading, which is great. All you need to focus on is your linework [pay attention again at the Derek Yu tutorial!] and your shaping. Don't try to do all the steps at once; I don't know any good artists who are successful at that.
>>31841>>31839Thank you for all your tips everyone. I'll not laze around with the linework next time, and thank you for the compliments. This is probably where I'm stopping for now. sadly armless!
>>31841Also, I see what you mean by flat. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for that and try to avoid it. Thanks again for the crits!
>>31845Just keep it up. I really want to see how this turns out once all the tips are taken into account.
