So I finally got around to registering my Nintendo games and I managed to get Platinum status. (I have never registered any before, so I had a lot laying around)The new Nintendo year starts in 8 days, so when do they announce the special platinum awards?
Do what now?
They won't announce the awards until after the 30th.
>>84134Club Nintendo..You buy Nintendo gamesThey come with a codeRegister the code in your Club Nintendo account (you need to make one of course)You get coinsYou can use coins to buy things (Little accessories in their store)If you collect enough coins in a single nintendo year (July 1st - June 30th) you can get special rewardsGold status - 300 coins in a nintendo yearPlatinum Status - 600 coins in a nintendo yearLast nintendo year the Rewards were either a Mario Hat or a WiiWare punch-out game where you could fight the coach for platinum and a calender for gold.
>>84136That is pretty cool. I always wondered what those were just never bothered to look into it.
>>84138And if you live in New York, you can get invitations to exclusive Nintendo World pre-release events.
Got a calender last year, no idea if I qualify for anything THIS year.
I was looking at some of the cards in my games and some say stuff about going to nintendo.com/productreg which doesn't work anymore and says to go to club nintendo. Anyway it says if you register three products you get three free issues of Nintendo power. Do they still do that? That would be pretty awesome. I probably will join anyway but I was just wondering about that.
>>84143The calender was 300 elite coins (You get elite coins and regular coins with every registration. The amount of elite for an item = the amount of regular, but elite coins reset at the end of the Nintendo year you registered them in) which is gold membership. You will get something this year if you are a gold or platinum member, but unless you haven't gotten 300+ coins this year you wont be eligible>>84144Sadly that is the old site, they don't do it anymore. NoA stopped doing that when they upgraded to the NoJ style of coins. And of course NoA's store is a lot more expensive for the same items that NoJ gets, and NoJ gets better prizes. (Japanese Nintendo Club members have gotten a free Famicom Wii Classic controller)Currently the rewards suck (the ones you pay coins for) but they are adding more stuff, and the regular coins last 2 years so you have time to wait and accumulate.
It really sucks you can't register non Nintendo made games that are on Nintendo consoles though. I have tons of them yet can't register them cause they're a bunch of assholes.
>>84150That wouldn't make Nintendo as much money as to cover the cost of all the gifts, now would it?
I am now a member. I feel pretty awesome about it too.
>>84173Now you can earn trinkets!
>>84133I remember when I got the Game Cube, I still lived in France. I started to register my games and consoles and got points for it. I think it was 1000 per console, 500 per game and 100 for surveys and birthdays. At the beginning they were giving away games for 6000. Sometimes shirts, hats for about 1000 I think, but mostly wallpapers and ringtones for 50 or so. But all I really wanted was games. When I finally got 6000, they stopped giving games. I checked it regularly but never saw a game again. Over the years, I ended up getting over 15000 around the time the Wii came out. And for some reason, I never got why, my account was deleted.
I WAS a member off the OLD swedish club nintendo. Funny times!Still have the mags and the cardboard club card. In my wallet...
>>84177Your stuff gets wiped if you don't use it after a while.
I still haven't redeemed any actual points yet. Prizes are kinda expensive compared to the Disney Movie Rewards program seeing as the points you get from redeeming stuff differ greatly. And I only had the status enough to get the lame calendar prize last year.I am thinking of one of those poster sets though.
So should I wait for the new Nintendo year to start registering games?>>84239Yeah those posters a pretty cool. I might go with the Zelda ones.
>>84239Yeah well at this point your a little late, because you get 10 points added on to all the games you currently have once you do the post-play review thing, which opens up 7 days after you register the game (Thus making you one day late)And if you haven't even signed up yet, there is a welcome survey worth 30 points. We also don't know what the gold reward could be. I doubt it will be the same thing as last year. (It might just be a 2011 calender instead of a 2010 calender lol)
Well shit, so when I get my Wii Netflix streaming crap all good and done I'll be just 100 coins short of Platinum status. Anyone know any good games I can find for cheap used that will net me some coins?
>>84257>Used gamesYou do realize those codes are probably A) not going to work (Already used)B) not even in the package
>>84257Link's Crossbow Training is pretty cheap and still worth the full Wii Game points.
Too bad I traded in a whole bunch of games not that long ago. I registered my games that I still have and now I'm at 320 coins so I'll at least get the Gold prize. I'll probably steal any codes my cousins have. I kind of want the LoZ posters or something but I can wait awhile for some better kind of reward.
>Club Nintendo is currently unavailable due to site maintenanceWhat a bummer. At least I got my free coins before it happened.
>>84262Meh, probably but I figured it'd be worth a shot. coming just 100 coins short of platinum is gonna suck if the reward was actually worth it.
Holy shit, I did the same thing, OPI can;t wait to get some ace shit.
We better get the same Platinum prize.
>>84996Well last year we got the Hat, but not the Wheel.
>start registering games at 11:20>end at 11:57>exactly 600 pointsfeelsgoodman.jpg
I just now got the final 50 I need to get 600 and it gave me Platinum.
>>85007Actually you can keep registering games until 12:00 AM July 1st.
>>84996I doubt they'd give us something THIS awesome.>>85000Calenders for Gold, the rest would be Platinum.
Not as cool as the shirts but still pretty cool.
>>85098Heh, sign-in isn't working right.Around this time and Christmas is when they have all the trouble. It's a nice gift though, I'll be happy to accept it.
Hmm, good question.Which should I get?
>>85163One would think the thing that isn't the calender would be the obvious choice.
Well, son of a bitch... Wish I had gotten more games to register this Club year...
Really sucks you have to HAVE the coins at the time as opposed to just collecting them to get platinum. Had I known that I wouldn't have bought the Zelda posters right away.
https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/10505.doWell. Now I need to get a-registering.
>>85176No, you don't get Platinum status just by having enough coins, you get them by having earned enough coins. You just have to have earned 600 coins within the Club Nintendo year, it doesn't actually matter if you've also spent them all.
>>85222Damn you're right and I was 20 short and I hadn't registered my Netflix which was worth 20. Oh well.
http://tinycartridge.com/post/863059099/close-up-of-club-nintendos-blooper-fan-click-forI hope we get more than just the fans. The only cool stuff Club Nintendo of America has are the posters, and maybe they DS game rack. I would really love to get some of the game soundtracks.
>>88212I was wondering what was up with those fans. They just kind of pull them out and use them but say nothing about them. Also they talked about the figure.
>>88232It was nice to see how it looked when actually being held by someone. Makes me even more bummed out that I didn't have enough points for it.
>>88238I know, right? It gives you a better sense of scale.
Hat.
A pic with the other fans.
