The Lakers will just pack it in. The Heat play right into LA's greatest strength: size in the paint.

Bosh and whomever they get for the 4/5 spots stand no chance guarding the LA bigs. And, as of right now, the Heat have no reliable outside shooting. Chalmers and Wade are not spectacular long range shooters and Lebron is streaky. Pack it in with Gasol/Odom/Bynum and let Kobe and Ron run interference out there on the wings and it will be difficult for anyone to score, especially a team with a bunch of drivers and no shooters.

Hell, the "bigs" problem might stop the Heat from even reaching the Finals--The Magic, and The Celtics could fuck em up.

Probability is weird. It's actually pretty common to get runs of six or more when you're flipping a coin. This method of picking the teams is basically just a more complicated coin.

Also there's a bit of a selection bias here. If, by chance, he'd mostly picked the wrong teams, we wouldn't have heard about him.

Huskers demolished Kentucky State as was expected. What was more surprising was that Oklahoma only BARELY beat it's cupcake matchup, Kansas LOST to its cupcake matchup, and Kansas St. actually BEAT UCLA (I wasn't aware Kansas St. was allowed to win games. It was a new experience).

Nebraska finally has an offense this year (All three strings of quarterbacks scored touchdowns), but our defense played like it's asleep! I can't believe we let Kentucky score a touchdown. I was mortified.

No.272483
Ehhhh... the BCS makes a LOT of money with its current set-up, and I do like the various bowl games rather than a "tournament"-style final round like the Pros. The bowl system is great for the mid-tier teams, which get to play another team of similar strength as their final game and can end their seasons on a win. I don't realistically see the BCS coming apart until it becomes unprofitable, because people have been talking about getting rid of it for the 15 years I'VE been following college football. What I WOULD like to see is Boise taken out of the WAC and put in an actual conference.

Well the NCAA tournament in college basketball is one of the best events in all of sports, and is a lot more entertaining then Bowl week.

I actually watched a fucking Richmond vs. Saint Mary's game. Two schools I didn't give a shit about, but that game actually matter. It effected the outcome of the tournament. Most of the bowl games are terrible. Seriously, aside from the fans of the teams, no one is going to watch or give a shit about the ST. PETERSBURG BOWL PRESENTED BY BEEF 'O' BRADY'S.

And yeah, the BCS makes a lot of money, for BCS schools. Doesn't do much for non-BCS schools. It also makes it exceptionally hard for non-BCS schools to recruit.

But a play-off system could be just as profitable. Knock of 1 or 2 regular season games or, y'know, eliminate the conference championships and then do a 16-team play-off. You can use bowl-games as locations for the play-off games in each round and you can rotate the BCS bowl locations for the championship game. And for those schools that don't make it to the tournament, you can keep bowl week for those schools.

Baseball Play-offs start (Regular season is abysmal), NFL starts, CFB starts, NBA starts, NHL starts, College Basketball starts.

Also /sp/ starts to suck in that twilight between Euro time and American time, after all American sports are done for the day.
