Negima was one of my favorite mangas. This pleases me.

It'll be nice to see what Akamatsu comes up with when he can start out straight-up shonen fantasy, rather than having to wrap it up in harem for the first few volumes.

I read it for a while before losing interest, and last I checked Evangeline McDowell was a waaaaay different type of person than Yukihime. Did the rad-ification happen in the previous story, or is that personality a new development?

Also, wasn't Konoka all but confirmed to be totally lesbian with Setsuna? So how did she end up with descendants? Did she have siblings or something? Or did they have some sort of it's-magic-I-don't-gotta-explain-shit yuri baby?

tvtropes says it's a new development. she was freed from her life as a perpetual 10-year-old at the end of negima i guess, so she took on a different form. i think having whatshisface as family for the past few years probably changed her too.

also adoption's an option. they might not be genetic descendants.

Most of the magic used in battles (especially later on) either supplements physical abilities (make yourself stronger, create weapons), are used by someone who separately uses martial arts to keep from getting murdered mid-casting, or create some sort of separate entity to fight instead of the caster.

It's pretty similar in that regard to Fairy Tail, though Negima has way more characters that focus totally on physical fighting.
