I noticed that with anime there's a clearly formulated style with the characters, but every so often food, backgrounds, some clothing as well as the characters' genitals if it's that kind of anime just default to more realistic stuff, which makes it seem out of place. It's not just anime, highly stylized Western series have the same issue.
