So, there was this pretty interesting thread in 4chan the other day that was all about the fact that just about every animal has been made in into an anthropomorphic race in RPGs at some point, except monkeys and apes.

Anyway, after watching this movie I feel like playing with the idea.

Really? It must exist somewhere in some form...

But what do you expect from this thread? How is this a project?

I'm pretty sure there are D&D races for everything.
I suppose this works for /coc/, but.. also /cog/. One of those applies-to-both things. :>

Uh, I just though it would be fun to created some sort of fictional military culture with apes and monkeys like RPGs do with other animals, with their whole caste system and such.

Whats up your ass anyway?

http://teamcovenant.com/wiki/Empire_of_the_Apes

The Empire of the Apes are part of the Radicals agenda. They were released as part of the Now! series and received supplemental content from the Big in Japan set.

With gargantuan apes from the remotest jungles of Africa, this simian empire is poised to knock mankind back into the Stone Age.

Generations of citizens and scientists alike dismissed these giant sentient apes as myths. Even when the first of these monsters was caught on tape, it was widely considered an elaborate hoax on the part of the television crew that posted the footage online. When a 200-foot tall gorilla smashed an entire field of newly operational oil riggings to bits, however, the threat became far more difficult to disregard.

Know why monkeys/apes get so rarely given the anthro treatment?
Because anthropomorphizing primates, in most cases (aside from those species with tails) is basically making a lumpy human with excessive bodyhair. And if folks wanted to see that, they can rent a Ron Jeremy video. Apes, from an anthro perspective, generally speaking are too "human", compared to other species. Heck, we share the same branch of the scientific-nomenclature tree already.

Yeah, I guess they could always just make them full blown ape but with super intelligence, like they did in that recent movie.

Not that there's anything -wrong- with anthro apes...

Meh, you could just play this:

And set up a scenario to fight Gorilla Grod or Ultra Humaite.

Look up Savage Species, from D&D 3rd edition.
