How do you feel about Russia, /baw/?

I feel if there is a god, it hates Russians. I'm not entirely sure what they did to deserve the enmity besides be Russians in Russia.

Their Church and Government suck worst than most.

There's certain aspects of Russia that I love, but I highly doubt I'd ever want to live there, because of socio-political matters.

It says a lot about modern Russia when, on balance, I can honestly say that the Soviet Union dissolving was a bad thing.

What with China basically become capitalist and North Korea becoming some kind of grand parody of an actual country, I think people have started to forget how crazy Russia is. Fortunately, the internet is here to help.

Considering the pros and cons of both systems.

I consider Boris Yelstin and his collaborators to be monsters who destroyed multiple nations.

Honestly, it scares me. It's like everyone with any kind of power in that country is a full-blown sociopath, most of their subordinates are psychopaths and there's an oppressed minority of sensible people stuck underneath. And thir recent millitary excersises in the baltic sea (sweden here) doesn't help at all.

Russian women look like Goddesses and their men look like fucking trolls. Like actual trolls.

I like their language because it sounds like orkish.

Their culture is contrary, fatalistic and self deprecating, which is fairly entertaining. Reminds me of the Japanese actually, although less overtly weird and far more violent.

Art and architecture is in the top 5 of all nations imo. History and mythology is fun. Get cool pics from urban exploration of desolate areas.

Their religion is pretty cool because their priests can enjoy sex, and because its so practical. Kind of like a protestant religion that doesn't suck and isn't extremist to the core.

Their economy is shit and needs work before it's even 2nd tier.

Their military has as many cool toys as USA, and isn't as much of a bully. Although they could really stand to tone it down a bit.

Government is fucking complex. It seems most of their day to day running is led by bureocrats in the pocket of maybe 50 or so oligarch and crime families. While the strategic running of the country is left over to underpaid mad researchers and ex-intelligence service guys running million-people underground complexes with fantastic and unbelievable artificial intelligences.

Putin is funny

>Mr. Putin what happened to the Kursk?
>It sank

>Mr. Putin what happened to Litvinenko?
>He was killed
>Who killed him Mr. Putin?
>A killer

Overall it strikes me as some B-movie or cheap dime store comic book from the 60s about how they expected the new millennium to look like. It's fun to watch from afar but I'd never want to live there. Not one of my favorite countries...

>>377007
Oh man they do not like that guy. Imagine if Reagan broke apart the country and sold half the economy to the Chinese. That's how bad they hate him.

>>377034
Insanity is a point of view. Comparing it to Sweden isn't really fair, most of your politicians are psychologically stable, almost every other country is full of crooks and maniacs.
I'm Canadian, for example, the guy in charge of my province owns a construction company which gets a large amount of government jobs building useless parks and shit... Graft is pretty common here and in 99% of the world.

All large nations are bullies. Russia still tries to force its on interests upon the former Soviet bloc. Also, Russia != USSR in terms of military power. They've got a lot of MBT's and that's about it.

I don't like their government's homophobic viewpoints.

However, there isn't a single country where I hate the people, even if I hate their government. Either I don't know a ton about the country, or what I know isn't anything bad. Russia's culture actually looks pretty fascinating.

some military examples, they lead in all forms of missile technology except some niche cruise missile uses. anti ship missiles, anti air missiles, anti tank missiles, ballistic missiles of all types... the theory behind their vehicle technology (air/ground/sea) is as good as american in all respects. their deployed vehicles mostly match, but in a few cases outmatch the capabilities of american equipment. and all for far less funding, which translates into better bureaucratic efficiency. conventionally they're only slightly behind america. wmd wise they're slightly ahead. so i dont see where your confidence comes from.
