Is Jump 20 the week after next?
Yes. This week is jump 18.
Slightly anti climatic. Mostly I feel Shanks and Sengoku made a huge mistake by letting BB go, they both know how dangerous he is and should have at least tried to stop him first rather than just threatening him. It's a bad, illogical move. I'm fine with the war against the Whitebeard Pirates ending this way though.
It is so weird having a calm chapter after all that. Wonder what will happen next.... perhaps the funerals. Or maybe it will focus on Luffy in Law's ship, or maybe it will jump over to the strawhats finally.
Huh. The calm in this chapter is kinda unnerving. We've been so keyed up for so long...
This could mean one thing, though - since losses have been cut, the Marines are still gonna be in the game.
Also, Yasopp's looking kinda studly. There. I said it.
I think they just don't want any more collateral damage. There are wounded people everywhere and a fight with B.B's crew could have killed a lot of them.
I am however very glad Oda snapped right back into his comedy. Shanks' 'lolItrolluBuggy' bit was great. I expected no less though.
Just shows that even after 20 years, Shanks has still got it.
Kizaru's attack was pretty cool
It's over... The arc is finally over...
All of Shank's crew are looking way manlier than when we they were with Luffy in Fuchia Village. >>5999
Oda is apparently avoided the tendency for adult character designs to be mostly static.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK YOOOOU SHANKS
Did anyone get the feeling that Shanks' actions and mysterious connection with Sengoku seemed...untrustworthy, I guess? Like, maybe Shanks is saving face for more than just the WB crew's pride. Wouldn't quite know what, though.
/r/ing a drawing of Shanks pulling a Cosgrove on everyone.
Speaking of designs, holy shit Oda. Massive fucking war introducing a bunch of major players and a shitload of unique background characters, all of which he thought up and drew. A lesser man would have been designed-out a few chapters in.
I salute you, sir.
I gave it a try.
"Hey Luffy, wanna go to the boat show?"
2 smaller things. First, is it just me or did Akainu apparently cough up some blood while Kizaru was doing his beamspam?
Second, I see that Moria is still SO HAPPY.
Oddly, Doflamingo isn't as happy as he normally is
My theory is that Moria is ashamed of his previous defeat at the hands of the Strawhats, and is currently trying to reclaim his honor. As such, he is CONSTANTLY sporting a fabulous trollface. Then, whenever there's an accident somewhere in the world, he'll show up and show timestamped pictures of his trollface, successfully taking credit for the deed.
Lookin' young there, Smoker.
Well, yeah. Doflamingo pretty much gets off on violence and chaos, of course he'd be disappointed by the war ending like this.
"Hey Luffy, how come you never got married?"
"Because I like meat too much."
"You can be married and still eat a lot of meat!"
".... I didn't know that."
Eh, it seemed like the two had respect for each other than anything else. Besides, Shanks crew is on par with the Whitebeard pirates, so Sengoku probablt didn't want to take his chances getting rammed into the ground.
DID ANYBODY CHECK TO SEE IF WHITEBEARD'S NURSES HAD LEOPARD PRINTS!?
They're gonna be out of a job now, aren't they?
OH FUCK LAW'S PANTS
pretty sure this was already discussed, but I can't freakin' find the thread. They do have leopard print and on one of WB's medical tank things is a symbol that's suspiciously like Law's.
I'm sure I remember that they did have leopard print stockings. I know because I'm a pervert, and I thought "wow, that's kinda kinky."
I can't remember that far back, dammit!
I know that because I remember thinking "Fuck yeah, Whitebeard!"
Here's the pic, in case there's anyone doubting these fine gentlemen.
I just have to say this:
Is anyone getting the feeling that what Shanks just did is going to make this arc, Whitebeard's death, and Ace's death a lot less plot/setting significant than they were built up to be?
He's going to give them a proper burial. Isn't that enough?
Not even a little.
I get where you're coming from. "Whoever wins this war becomes justice! Unless Shanks pops in and goes Cosgrove on our asses. But what are the chances of that, seriously."
You act like Ace and Whitebeard dying don't mean anything, that's stupid as hell.
And Shank's + crew are strong enough to act as a deterrent, him stopping the fighting is not against his character.
What happens now?
Seems fairly obvious that, with Marco unable to lead the remnants himself in the wake of what happened, the Whitebeard pirates will disband into their respective crews across the New World.
Buggy (with Mr. 3 riding his coattails unto unwitting glory) will, despite his best efforts, become one of the most feared pirates in the world. "Yonkou Buggy"? Well, it's possible.
Crocodile will scavenge a new crew from the scattered New World pirates and return to his long-shelved dream of becoming Pirate King. Das Bones will undoubtedly go along and, when he resurfaces, so shall Bon Clay.
With two Shichibukai gone (Jimbei and Blackbeard both resigned; Hancock's still one of their own despite hijacking a marine ship to peruse her beloved) the Government is going to have a hell of a time finding replacements. I've heard people mention Kidd, but... I can't really see it, myself.
...and on a side note, what the hell is behind Doflamingo's glasses?
Also, for the Kidd as Shichibukai yeah I'm not seeing it. He was pretty emphatic about the whole "We may be murderous bastards but at least we aren't running a slave ring". Why would he renege?
Also his bounty is so high because he kills civilians and World Government officials so much. They wouldn't give him a shichibukai title, they'd send a shishibukai after him.
Maybe it's that one recent chapter cover, but I wonder if Koby's outburst will have him kicked out of Garp's command and put into Smoker's. I mean, Akainu was about to kill him a chapter ago.
Honestly, he'll be lucky if Garp can keep him from getting severely demoted. But I agree that either way he probably will get transferred somewhere else to get him the hell away from Akainu.
Except Akainu had no idea who the hell this kid was. There's a. . .slim chance that could work out in his favor.
I wouldn't be so sure. They gave Doflamingo a Shichibukai title, and you just know he got his high bounty from doing all sorts of nasty shit.
