Savers was a step in the WRONG direction.
I blame Frontier for that, cause who WOULDN'T be thrown off on what's good after that.

I'm surprised by this. I thought Bandai would abandon Digimon and focus on new IPs. It can't still be popular enough to make money like a kids' toy/game franchise needs to.*

Now, you can't really tell if a series will be good or not based on one promotional picture, but I'm going to try anyway. The art style looks more like the old Digimon, which is a welcome change from Savers. I'm a bit worried by how busy everything looks, though. I mean, older Digimon had lots of detail, but the basic designs were relatively clean for the most part. Here, it looks like they're attaching too many accessories to the 'mon. Just look at the new Agumon replacement: he's got headphones, a Gundam-style headcrest, legwarmers, and a multi-clawed staff weapon. Agumon, Veemon, and Guilmon were all pretty basic dinosaur-things with one or two distinguishing features, but they were all very distinct from each other, and from other 'mon. These new Digimon look less like Digimon to me, and more like every other Yugioh/Beyblade/Bakugan/Whateverthefuck monster design out there.

Ah well. We'll see how this turns out. I liked the way the first Savers artwork looked, and ended up dropping it after ten or so episodes. I'm worried that this looks generic as fuck, but it could turn out to be something else entirely.

*Not trying to piss on anyone's nostalgia here, but it's the simple truth that franchises like Digimon are created to sell toys/games. They can be great in spite of this, but they would never be made without the greed of toy company execs.

I'll wait for a trailer or something before deciding if I'll watch it or not.

The image makes me wonder if there is going to be just one kid this time around with only a bunch of digimon and an obvious combined transformation looming in the middle. I don't know if that would work but I'm curious enough they're trying a 6th incarnation to see what this mess is all about.

Savers was actually pretty good, from what I saw. Frontier was shit, and if this show is trying to reclaim the glory of Tamers, more power to it.

I didn't like Frontier for dropping the Digimon partners, stupid idea.

Savers was kinda nice at first but I didn't like the new art style and it quickly turned into generic anime trio which turned me off. I dropped it quickly.

This seems to be getting back to the roots, so I'm positive.
I like the group dynamics in the show, so I hope it doesn't cut off on neither children or Digimon .

On the one hand, Savers had an interesting starting premise, but it felt like it quickly skipped what made the others good in favor of trying something new. There's nothing inherently wrong wtih that, but it set us up for something a little disjointed from expectations.

My opinions on Frontier was that I did feel the villian was the strongest thing that series had going for it. Cherubimon and everything that came with him was pretty wicked, but the rest of the show left a bit to be desired. And I fucking HATED THAT DAMN OPENING SONG. GOD it was awful.

Tamers is a beast, and I mean that in every good way.

What I'm seeing of this series so far doesn't remind me of tamers though. It looks like a cross between season 2 (which has its up points, but mostly I don't like it.) and Savers. So.... I'll just wait and see.

Just finished watching the ep. First impressions:

- Fight scenes are more actiony this time around. Then again, it could be exclusive to the pilot ep.
- They actually go the digital world early. Please let this be a sign that it'll be more similar to season 1.
- Fusion digivolutions looks like it'll be prominent/common. So does that mean each kid gets 3+ partners? Or that the goggleboy gets an inordinate amount of attention, AGAIN? Do not want.

Hmm... it seems that digimon rank is going to be less relevant, if at all.
Kinda breaks the usual structure in ways I don't think I like. Time will tell how it turns out.

First episode is pretty... generic. Nothing really stood out all that much. Still, it's just the first episode, so it can't be expected to instantly win everybody's hearts.
