You. Yes you. You need to go watch Baccano! right now. RIGHT NOW. http://www.hulu.com/baccanoIt's like someone mashed together Van Hellsing and Cowboy Bebop, then decided there needed to be a dash of Excel Saga in there as well. It's only 13 episodes, and has a cast the size of Bleach. But, instead of focusing on two or three characters for four or five episodes (and then giving one of them three flashback episodes), it focuses on just about all of them every episode, jumping time periods as it does so. This is confusing in the beginning, but eventually starts to make sense. And you can't help but love what seems to be the mascot pair for the series, Miriam and Issac.
Like this, which is the boxset cover, only bigger and fancier. I have such a crush on this piece of art because I'm pretty I'd fuck almost (almost!) every single person on it.
Also Berga Gandor's head is fucking huge.
Chane's amazing thighs...
and oh my god Ronnie hnnnnnnnnnnnnngh
I love this image, but I've never had a large, proper version of it until now. So fancy.
FAN-FUCKING-SERVICE<3<3<3
Also Claire, Isaac, and Firo in the backgrounds LOLOLOLOL claire why are you wrestling a shark WHO CARES its awesome
Honestly, of all the people I love in this stupid series, I would love nothing more than to be Miria's BFF. That's almost the definition of awesome.
Fun fact: the hot blonde there with Claire is actually RACHEL. You don't get to see her like this in the anime because she spends the entire time in her fatigues, but honestly? Rachel is CRAZY HOT.
I also ship Elmer and Sylvie so hard, I almost went blind. I dunno the other characters because I can't read fucking Japanese and the rest of the novels will never be fucking goddamn shitcocking translated into english because FUCK YOU GOD
...Huh. And apparently that was it. Everything else is here-- http://community.livejournal.com/baccano/193026.html?#cutid1 -- but i posted most of the stuff that you guys would recognize. There's a few novel characters here and there and I'm still waiting on the scans from the newest one about the Alchemists pre-Advenna Avis (Crack Flag). So yeah. Have this picture of Keith Gandor's super hot wife.
>>42984Elmer where are you goingyou're not chubby bubbles girl
>>42990NEVER GIVE UP HOPEMaybe.I dunno. I'm still surprised we got the Haruhi novels.
The dub isn't up on Hulu anymore, they replaced it with subs.ATOMIC RAGE
>>43516That's still five months more than they said it would be.
>>43516Dude, the subs have Norio motherfucking Wakamoto. They are more than acceptable-- they are just as godly awesome as the dub. They just lack all the badass accents and slang and shit.Pic related. IT'S MOTHERFUCKING MEGATRON.
>>43516>Rage over having the original language
>>43525If he wanted to read, he'd buy a friggin' book.
>>43558> Counter argument sound like a illitirate american pigu desu.

>>45887Wait what's going on?
>>45888Claire Stanfield and Russia from APH now have the same voice actor in what is probably the single most hilariously apt voice-casting decision ever. I am a happy fangirl.

http://community.livejournal.com/baccano/206897.html?#cutid1 I wrote Baccano! fanfiction. You should read it and tell me if it is terrible or not.
>>46828Well I read the whole thing in their dub voices, so I guess I enjoyed it.
>>46828It only took you forever to get that last part done. Glad to finally see it in full, I laughed more than expected.
Okay, so, if you know anything about Axis Powers Hetalia fanartists, you know that Chira-Chira is awesome because her England is uglyhot in the most awesome way.But that is not the point of this post. The point of this post is to inform you that Chira-Chira just got into Baccano! (and HARD) and she drew the cast.As Lackadaisy cats.Is this awesome: Y/YYY/YYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
I can't watch this.I'm Canadian.

Alright, finally finished this series. So much better dubbed. Nothing against the Japanese voices--I loved them too--but the dialogue...much, much better.
>>49435How someone can ever enjoy american dubs, is beyond me.
>>49437>Show set in 1930s America>All the cast appear to be rather white>Prefers Japanese voice over English voice actors doing their best wise guy voices and what notOh wait, you're a weeaboo, nevermind.
>>49437That's because you're a big fat weeaboo, son.
or, I just dont enjoy american dubs as Its not my native language? Hm? Maybe thats it? But eh, I disgress. I should have known better then to bring it up. You guys scream weeabo assoon as someone likes japanese over your GLORIUS AMERICA.
>>49449Actually it's just because this is one of the few dubs where English is more thematically appropriate and actual effort was put into the dubbing.
>>49449Also>assoon
>>49454Yes, becouse pointing out a typo is as tactfull and a good approach Nurse as any. Also, yes I MAD, but that's mostly due to me having had a shitty day. >>49452Hm, well, in context of where it takes place, I guess I can see why it could work better. I in general just enjoy watching things in its intended language more, be it german, italian, french or japanese, or english for that matter. (shudders at english to swedish dubs of the late 90's). Shall stop taking up your time gents you are clearly scholars of highest degree.
>>49456man I can't type for shit today.
>>49456There's nothing wrong with saying "I enjoy watching things in their native language", but if you prance in here and say "ENGLISH DUBS COULD NEEEEEVER POSSIBLY BE AS GOOD AS GLORIOUS NIHONGO" you're gonna be called a weeaboo, bro."It's not my thing" =/= "American dubs are unenjoyable"
>>49459To be fair I said "How someone can ever enjoy american dubs, is beyond me."Which is still kinda is. As I cannot enjoy it, like ever. I have tried, i usally just go: "Fuck it, this is terrible". But i apologize, I realize i should not have mentioned it in such tactless matter.
>>49463S'cool. For further reference, as advice from a native English speaker, "how anyone could like whatever-it-is is beyond me" is for the most part kind of a combative statement. The implication behind it is a lighter form of "whatever-it-is is bad and the people who like whatever-it-is should feel bad"
