Has anyone tried out the Scott Pilgrim game?
It is actually pretty good, it is a River City Ransom clone with co-op and music by Anamanaguchi.

No.89755
Was gonna get it for the PS3 sometime soon. Still not sure if I should get it on the 360 or PS3.

No.89756
My buddy got it yesterday and we played through the first two exes on the hardest difficulty.
I played as Stephen Stills, he was Scott, and our third friend was Romona. Come tomorrow, before the movie, we'll have a full 4 controllers and run through the whole game before heading to the theater. I am excited.
I had a lot of fun with the first two levels. Also fucking Lucas Lee is a douchebag. I really want this game for my own.
>>89755
Well, it's already out out for PS3 NOW, and it'll be out for 360 in a few weeks. Depends on when you want it, I guess.

No.89757
>>89756

I can't afford to blow money on it for a few weeks. But if the controls are customizable, I might get it on the PS3 and play it with my fight stick.

No.89758
They delayed it on the 360 so it wouldn't interfere with their SUMMER OF XBLA sale thingy. Also, it'll be more expensive when it comes out then for some reason.

Rumors are that they'll patch in an online mode soon.

No.89759
I'm waiting until when/if I finish the books.

No.89764
I love this game, it is fucking awesome. I need two more controllers so I can have the entire band.

No.89769
>>89758
I'm hoping so. Game is fun as shit, but it would still be fun to actually play with some people.

No.89771
Yeah where do they get off not having Online Co-op from the start?

No.89772
While online co-op would be nice, I dont need it. This is the kind of game I love playing with my friends together, all in the same room.

This game is stupid.

It tells you to go forward and then you lose 50 health from people hitting you off the screen.

You get knocked down with any tiny bump and you can't get up for 3 whole seconds.

It takes forever to beat down any enemy and they don't stay down nearly as long as you do. Also, there's never any less than 12 of them per section.

No.89847

WELCOME TO OLD ARCADE GAMES!

They are a whole different kind of fun, mainly being a challenge since they don't hold your hands like a lot of modern games.

No.89855
>>89839

Only 12?

Try Night Slashers with standard dips. Then cry.

No.89857
>>89839
No idea what you were playing but I had a different experience all together.

I find this game to be a bit difficult in a wrong way. Enemies have tons of health, but they're easy to kill. You can also keep hitting them in the air if you get them at the edge of the screen. The lack of ANY healing items except for when you go to stores is also pretty annoying. The controls also feel a bit stiff. The lack of online is what's a deal breaker to me though.

It's certainly not the worst game out there right now, but it's not something I'll buy without an online mode.

No.89880
>>89857

Just played through the demo on normal and the highest difficulty. With the exception of the PS3 controller being balls, the game is simple, fun, and fun to play. I'm sure it gets harder as the game goes on, but when I can maintain a speed boost on normal for halfway to the boss, it's easy.

The only annoying enemies I've fought are those purple haired dudes, because you can't air-combo them, and they dodge everything, but other than that, finished the whole first boss on normal without dying, lost one or two lives on hard.

No.89937
>>89880

Just played through on super hard again, get the rainbow sushi, super helpful early on. You should get enough to buy it like... Maybe 6 or 8 times overall depending on how you do in the shortcuts, make sure you buy it before heading into the boss area, so you're all healed up, and save enough for a grape soda to go. Beat the boss in one life, easy-peasy, final stage with the demons can be a bit of a bitch... Take out the one on the left. Three jump kicks killed her for me. Then grab a bar stool, stay out of the right one's aim and keep spamming quick attack, if he blocks, throw it, and then air-combo the stool for crazy damage.

I'll be buying this as soon as I can get a credit card to do so.

No.90048
... Nope, regardless of my inability to play any kind of co-op for this, I'm still getting it.

Well if your playing multiplayer your team mates can heal you mid fight so that helps.

No.90158
>>90133

You can also carry one item at a time. The E Tank from the 7th level gives you 100 HP.

No.90187
>>90133
That's an interesting concept that's kind of pushed aside by the lack of online multiplayer though.

No.90190
>>90187

Not really. It was in Castle Crashers as well, and it's still there locally, plus they might be patching in multiplayer, since I'm pretty sure Knives was supposed to be a playable character, which leads me to believe she will be DLC in some update, and if they're adding a new character, I don't see online support being too far off.

No.90205
I was worried it wouldn't be as fun by myself... I WAS WRONG!

I'm perfectly willing to play through this again with all the other characters and all difficulties, and I haven't been able to say that since the original Turtles in Time for SNES.

No.90206
>>90205

You really only have to beat it on the first and last difficulties.

I beat it on my first play through as Scott on the highest difficulty. Like a boss.

No.91205

Missus not into it?

I've found brawlers to be excellent games for non gamers, hell I could go on for hours about the times me and my dad had playing the hell out of Turtles in Time.

I've had it randomly freeze, muted sounds/music, and once, I beat Lucas Lee with a low attack and then all he did was stand up and then nothing. Had to play the whole level all over again but at least I was able to exit out of it and keep all my XP and money.

This was on the 360 version mind you.

Also, sorta unrelated, but did anyone else download the trail to Shank on 360? Cuz THAT'S been bugging out on me too. Got me worried about my 360 for a bit but my other games seem to be working fine....

No.91265
Been playing thorugh the demo three times, I deffinitly have to buy this later.
Also, I love how they made the subspace highway a glitch zone.

ok is there ANY way to break enemy combos in this game?

No.91406
>>91393
playing co-op is about it.

No.91423
>>91393

Don't get hit, use the block button. Plus most enemy combos (bosses/sub-bosses discounted) don't go more than 4 hits. Even if you didn't buff your defense, it's still hardly a big thing, since you get the jump on the enemy more often than not.

(PS, try to break enemy combos in most beat em ups, you're eating at least 2 punches)

X is A and O is B, because they had the blood code from MK. A,B,A,C,A,B,B which was X,O,X,Square,X,O,O

I just realise I don't know the blood code on SNES, so square is probably X or Y. lolderp.

So uh, PSN finally managed to block non American credit cards from being used and I don't really want to turn down to those overpriced clumsy PSN cards.

Anybody wants to trade games? I've got Fat Princess, Pixeljunk's Shooter, Rag Doll Kung-fu, Age of Booty, Critter Crunch, annd that's it I think.

I can also buy you 10$ worth of stuff instead on Steam, whatever works

No.92777
just got it

Can't tell who I like playing more, Kim or Stills

No.92794
>>92777
Kim is kind of a game breaker. Especially once you get her techs.

No.92803
>>92794

I don't honestly think she is, since her assist sucks (unless you have Mr Chau unlocked), and most of her attacks are on par with Stills for damage. She just doesn't have the disadvantage of moving slow as a rock, or not having a slide tackle.

Kim, Scott and Nega Scott are my favorites, though.

No.92805
Got the demo last night for Xbawks, took me a while to get the movement down(everyone feels kinda clunky to me), but when I did I fell in love. Played through the first stage about ten times now. I gotta buy this soon.

No.92806
>>92803
Assists are almost pointless, use that Guts as extra health instead.

No.92807
>>92806
I dunno, I think Ramona's assist is pretty damn useful, ESPECIALLY when fighting the zombie horde.

No.92808
>>92806

I played through the game on the highest difficulty my first play through, you don't need to tell me that, I know.

Stills' assist is incredibly useful, everyone else's is pretty weak unless you get Mr Chau often. But mostly because Stills' animations are PAINFULLY SLOW.

>>92807

Unless you're in the zombie mode, just chuck them in the hole, blech. Zombies take too long to kill, easier to just throw them away and deal with not getting the money.

No.92819

I'm glad I revived the conversation, but my offer still stands.

Or maybe you could direct me to a place who sells those PSN cards at a fair price (buck for a buck) and ships worldwide.

Anyways, I'm reading the comics, which I love. The movie is coming out here in two weeks (yeah, I know) and proudly bears the name "My Girlfriend's Exes" (Yes... I KNOW).

Anyways I'm hyped for the whole experience.

No.93492

Israel, it's a funky place like that.

I read this article about the name and it starting to make sense to me, they're trying to pull audience who wouldn't go to see it otherwise.

No.93987
Got the full game a few days ago, and Admiral and I have spent the past few nights playing with a friend of mine. Dear god it is so pleasing. I don't think we've had that much fun with a multiplayer game since we used to play Smash Bros. Melee back in middle school.
