AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!
The stuff of nightmares.
I'm surprised that no one's made a live action Peanuts yet.
>>77514Does the play count?
>Dan Aykroyd as YogiEh...>Justin Timberlake as Boo BooFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-
>>77518 It’s great that the refuge of celebrity culture can be scrapped together to make bland 3D movies if they're desperate enough for work. It really brings together the whole "fuck you" this image seems to say. I bet they don't even try to sound like the cartoons.
>>77514I was just thinking someone might try to adapt Gnaw's sweet Peanuts All Grown Up pics into some horrible live-action "Friends" knock-off...OH NO I'VE SAID TOO MUCH
Nobody gave a fuck when we went CGI.
>>77520 And speaking of old cartoons with horrible celebrities guess what's going to be hitting the theaters next year? A Jeff Foxworthy Handy Smurf and George Lopez Grouchy Smurf.
I'll probably still watch itin theatres
>>77523That's because nobody knew what Over the Hedge was until the CG movie.
>>77525Jesus. This brings to mind a game. I'll start.Rosanne Barr as Smurfette.
>>77525 What! Hank Azaria and Paul Reubens are in this as well? Man, and William H Macy was in Marmaduke, too.
>>77543Hank Azaria as Gargamel is a surprisingly good choice though. He even looks like him and by extension Moe.
in b4 Calvin and Hobbes movie
>>77552not as long as Bill Watterson is living
How long until they start making feature length movies of cereal box mascots? That being said I wouldn't be against a Count Chocula/Boo Berry/ Frankenberry/Fruit Brute/Yummy Mummy film.
>>77555in b4 bootleg Calvin and Hobbes movie about peeing on things
>>77520Yeah, it's just confirming that there's virtually nothing original in Hollywood anymore. Now they just have to find an existing franchise and milk it for all it's worth. This is part of the reason I hope "Inception" does really well; to prove you can a completely original story that's not based on anything, not even a novel, and still be a hit.
I WILL SEE THIS FOR DAN
>>77586No thats just all you focus on. The biggest films critically and commercially last year were original pieces.
>>77594Depends on how you look at it.
>>77596nicehave the oscar nominations for best picture too. mostly original, with a few novel adaptations
Oh my God. I can't take anymore.
>>77607Has it become unbearable?
Im glad im to young to give a shit!
This has happened so many times it's hard to give a crap anymore.
Am I the only person who just does not hear Dan Aykroyd as Yogi? Also, I wonder who'll play Cindy Bear.
is this a reverse trolling thread
>>77628See>>77592>>77629What?
>>77632Oh wait, I misread what you said.
>>77608It's just teddieous at this point.
>>77596 Wait, TAKEN MADE LESS MONEY THEN RISE OF COBRA? >>77551 Yeah but seriously, George Lopez? He's not going to even sound like Grouchy which you could pay anyone a tenth of the amount that asshole is getting to do "I hate *insert joke*". The whole movie is going to be him recycling the same failed jokes about how much he hates his mother. I mean if you're going to use celebrities you could have at least hire someone who is a more entertaining angry man like Louis Black.
>>77693You'd have to be a total basket case to respond to that.
I know this has already come out, but I just can't stress again how horrible of an idea this is. The strip is a gag-a-day comic only one joke the dog is big and they stretch that out into a full-length motion picture. It couldn't even get by on name recognition since Marmaduke isn't really among the most famous comic strips. It's not like they're short on subject matter as far as comics go; I'm sure any of those strips that have been around 50+ years would jump at the chance to whore themselves out more. Why not make a movie out of Beetle Bailey or the Family Circus or Hagar the Horrible or fucking anything but Marmaduke?
>>77583 I expect to see that on Youtube.
>>77714That wacky dog.
>>77722...What's Hitler doing there?
>>77723Being punished.Hitler's hell is having to be the owner of Marmaduke.
>>77518There are worse Justins for the role. Hello there I'm Justin Beibear.
jesuschristhowhorrifying.jpg
>>77770 I can't watch more than a few seconds. Why Dan, why would you sink to Bill Murray's level? Go back to selling Crystal Skull wine and believing in aliens.
>>77776>IMPLYING BILL MURAY HAS EVER ONCE LOWERED HIMSELF IN LEVEL AND THAT DAN HAS AS WELLBAH, TO HELL WITH YOU, Sometimes it's fun to be involved with horrible things you know no one will ever care about or suck your dick over.
>>77780He openly regrets Garfleid (in Zombieland).
>>77770HATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATE
>>77770I spent five minutes trying to think of some way to express how I feel about this, and failed.
Since when is Yogi Bear a Don Rickles impersonation?
>>77770
>>77714Kill me if you must, but I feel like a Beetle Baily movie could be AWESOME if they tried to make it a semi-legit military movie instead of HURR DURR IT'S A COMIC FOR KIDS. Worst part of Marmaduke was that Lee Pace was in it. When I saw him in the previews, I felt like someone stabbed me in the heart with a frozen knife, yanked it out, tossed it in a bucket of liquid nitrogen, then chucked it at an oncoming truck. Truly, the mighty have FALLen
>>77780 I remember a time when both of their names at least meant it was funny or enjoyable in some way. And then Bill was in Garfield, anything that could be considered bad that he was in was better than giving Jim Davis even more money. He even made up for it with Life Aquatic but goddamn it Bill. WHY, WHAT PRECIDENT HAVE YOU SET FOR YOUR FELLOW GHOSTBUSTERS?!
>>77827Yeah One was worse than Garfield
>>77829 What?
>>77833Year* One.sorry.
>>77781>>77827You guys realize that's not the point of what I'm saying, right? If you see a movie that has star power as it's only attraction, go excepting something so bad you can laugh at it, das iz what I do.They aren't lowering themselves, they just jumped on the bad movie movie train and tossed out some bad lines for cash, besides, you ever say terrible movies out loud? It's fun.I often wonder if actors don't take voice jobs some times just for the silliness of it.
>>77827Bill Murray as Garfield made sense, at least. Lorenzo Music was Garfield's VA in Garfield and Friends and fitted him with the voice that anyone who saw the show still associates with him to this day. He's the same guy who did Venkman's voice in the animated Ghostbusters series.
>>77776>sink to bull murray's levelFUCK YOU! BILL IS AMAZING!
>>77835 You must have been one of the thousands of geniuses that paid money to laugh at the Twilight movies in theaters. I just think those two can work on something better than shit like this. Justin Timberlake can bum for money for all I care but Dan’s wasting his chops on this. There are better bad movies to be a part of.
>>77868Indeed, better hokey Sci-Fi that will be around forever as cult classics instead of garish nonsense
>>77770Justin Timberlake has a surprisingly decent Boo boo voice in this trailer. For a minute there I thought he was just going to do Boo boo as him. I just hope to god he doesn't sing at any point. Also, I'd love if they just did a Family Circus movie with no cohesive plot, just one little vignette after the next, each being basically what we get with each strip. Like one scene we start with Jeffy spilling juice on the carpet and trying to act like it wasn't him when it clearly was and the next we've got the kids getting excited over a snow day or some shit like that.
...why do I want to see this?
>>77827Bill Murray got confused as assumed it was one of the Coen brothers who was working on Garfield. He didn't find out it wasn't until he was already having to work on the voice acting.
>>77596>Avatar>Source of Material: OriginalHA.
>>78097DOHOHOHO!
>>78097Oh hoho~
>>78097I hate it too, but it's hard for anything to be original anymore.
>>78133could have been moreso had he not relied on some many damn cliches.
Does anybody remember those Yogi shorts by Spumco (or a similar studio) that used to get shown of CN occasionally some years back? Those are my fondest memories of Yogi
>>78149I think one of my buddies worked as a cleanup artist on those.
>>78149Your fondest memories are shit.
>>78175Yeah, this.
>>77770....wow. that's actually pretty good.
>>78299
>>78301Its a bear making an ass out of himself for free food. The only thing that's off is that Ranger Smith is too composed. I mean, it ain't perfect, but that's a heck of a lot better than I expected.
>>78304They should have gotten like Warburton or similar to play Ranger Smith a person that while acting serious can still get goofy in certain ways.
The problem is, there aren't any little kids today who give two shits about Yogi Bear and there aren't any adults who are so smitten with the character that they're going to pay to go see it.Who's the target audience?
>>77770Actually, that's surprisingly good.I can't believe Justin Timberlake can do such a good Boo Boo voice. My only complaint is Ranger Smith. He feels wrong. Otherwise, it seems fine.
>>78320parents looking for a kid distraction? sometimes they'll settle for anything.
John K's inevitable rant on this should be fun.
>>78394I'd rather see a video on YouTube. But since that's unlikely, I'll just watch that famous scene from "Scanners"...
>people criticizing Bill Murray and Dan Akroid, both mainstream hollywood actors, for "selling out" by doing bad movies that they get paid millions of dollars to do
>>80343terrifying
>>80343>Great things come in bearsyea that doesn't sound the least bit wrong
>>80343jesus christ
>>80354Wow, that's some of the most obvious matting I've ever seen.
>>80354why are they doing this
>>80354The thing that gets me is that adults know Yogi(and the Chipmunks, underdog, ect) are corny. They are old, played out, and corny. Why is it these executives keep trying to repackage them for youngsters when they could just as easily make a new show on TV (atleast WB has an ounce of intelligence and is doing just that for Looney Toons)Maybe there's a silver lining to this though. After the Scooby Doo movies in the early 2000s, Scooby Doo was revitalized, maybe Yogi Bear will pave the way for a comeback of other HB cartoons(that don't suck)
FEEL THE HORROR
>>80365There are stockpiles of unsold Yogi Bear merchandise buried in the desert that are being unearthed by cover of darkness as we speak. Obviously the movie is simply a vehicle to help get that stuff cleared out and sold off to make room for unsold Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo merchandise beneath the desert.Look forward to live action/cgi Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo remakes in 2015.
>>80377Gonna admit.I liked the delivery of the pie joke.
>>77594>Avatar>OriginalHaha, you made a funny.
>>80380You best believe I'm looking forward to live action /johnny Bravo.
>>80377Ok, Ackroyd's Yogi is pretty good and Timberlake's Boo-Boo is spot on. I have to give them that. I just hate that this is a romantic comedy.
Damn it Dan, stop trying to tempt me into seeing movies I know will suck.
Justin Timberlake is the best thing about this movie. Take that as you will.
Aykroyd doesn't really make a very good Yogi IMHO. His voice just doesn't fit.
>>80644I will not hear a bad word about Justin, so don't start anything.
>>80702Well, his voice is too dark, but they needed names to put on this movie. Greg Burson(the latest Yogi) died in 2008,
HOW THEY REALLY GOT YOGI TO SIGH ON THIS MOVIE!And yes, I hope that whats-his-name-in-english? Dirk Darsterly? gets a moive.
