>and was influenced heavily by western culture after it was taken down
Except there really hasn't been much "Western culture" to speak of in the Avatar world until we got to Korra. Now it's more of a mish-mash of Eastern and Western culture and technology.
>avatars don't share memories, relationships, families, personalities, nationalities, experience, etc.
On one hand, this makes the way the series interprets avatars kind of unique, but on the other hand, it tends to throw off a lot of casual fans who probably would have benefited from a more traditional portrayal of reincarnation. It almost makes the Avatar seem like s/he has multiple personalities instead, but it's interesting, so I'm not complaining too much.
>4. Sky bison reproduce with spores
Close. Remember when Appa was "shedding"? It's a little-known evolutionary method that allows sky bison to reproduce when there are no mates available. That's why the new sky bison look different.
See this screenshot? Azula has no idea she's actually holding potential babby sky bison in her hand. Which is probably a good thing, because Ty Lee would have squeed a lot harder if she knew and would ask Azula if she could keep one for a pet.
