Alright, /tek/! This weekend, I'm intent on purchasing a new laptop! Thing is, I'm not really sure what to look for! Can you help me?

Whatever I get should be strong enough to play the likes of Team Fortress 2, at least, since people won't stop bugging me to play it. I do some writing here and there, plenty of image and video saving, though not metric tons of it by any means.

I have about $800 to work with, but I'm also going to need a mouse and headset, maybe a gamepad.

Is the MacBook just there for shits and giggles, or are you actually considering it?

No.1827
If you only have $800 and you want to play SOME kind of games, the smart thing to do would be to never buy a Mac product. Even if they released a Mac version.

Yeah, it's a joke, I forgot to add 'pic unrelated' to the end of my post there.

Mah bad.

Acer makes good screens, but everything else is crap.

>I have about $800 to work with
Most people don't know this but there are some good deals to be made on ebay if you purchase from other countries.

Honestly I only had an Acer, HP and Vaio previously and the HP was the best of the three.

Here's a good wallpaper for you.

Okay bros, let me show you a little something.
I shall find you another great deal.
For I am the /tek/ Deal Finder.
Of the future.
This is nearly the laptop equivalent of my computer, same graphics card and all.

I could keep going, but I gotta get to sleep. If this is a bit more high-end than you'd care for, I'll look for a bit cheaper, slightly downgraded computer for you that you'd love.

This is a quad-core. My computer runs this, and it is pure amazingsexquality.

I will go and look for another model for you if you want something new. Remember, I always grab the things that have the bigger screens, big screens are pretty.
Also HD.

Not Acer, so not a biggy in my book.

Vorked, you are a true bro and I'm sure these are fine machines, but I know nothin' from nothin' when looking at all this jargon. Still, I'll take your word that they're quality pieces of equipment.

Got any mouse/headset/gamepad recommendations for me?

That I do.
But first I would need to know what your budget is.

I suddenly find myself with an extra hundred or so dollars since I didn't buy my laptop last weekend. And of course, I don't have to buy all my peripherals all at once. So yeah. Upwards of a hundred dollars.

For a gamepad, I'd say stick with keyboard and mouse.
Mouse, I'd go with anything laser Acer.
Now headphones, this is where the fun comes in. Let me show you the best of the best.
