HNNNNNNNNNNNNGGH
now if only they got rid of that ugly ass front bumper.
>>1118Yeah, it is pretty fugly. But considering how well the classic design meshes with the "sleek" look that makes most cars today look so generic, I can forgive them. It's easily my favorite fifth generation Mustang.
>>1121know what would be interesting? if they just made replicas of the old cars with new engines and electronics under the hood.
>>1125God, yes. I honestly don't even know much about cars. I don't even care to have a particularly nice one. It's just that muscle cars are the only ones that seem to have any real effort put in them. What you're talking about is something I've always wanted to try but for God knows what reason, a person can only do it themselves with a hell of a lot of personal time invested in it and/or massive amounts of money.
>>1126I more hoping on a company to make something like a special variant chassy.
I knew men who designed pieces of that carDo you know that engine tolerances (particularly in the pistons) are measured in sub-micrometer units?
>>1127That'd be great too. This is probably just my PC nerd talking but I think cars could use more end-user choices with the same specs in general.>>1129Oh my~
>>1125You'd need to modernize the suspension as well. And find a way to fit modern tires. Otherwise whenever you opened the throttle up really wide, your tires would disappear in a puff of smoke.
>>1132ain't modern suspension just bolting and welding bigger springs?and how hard can it be to change the tires?
>>1131Tight tolerances make Askal cream her pants
By the way, the V6 is predicted to get 31 MPG. Not bad for a >300hp car.>>1134:3c
At the risk of fagging up a good car thread, I've a quandry maybe you motor minded folks can solve.I don't care about speed. I don't really care about super-efficiency, either.. but there are a few things I'm sort of looking for in a vehicle, and I've never owned one before. What sort of brand exists that thrives on reliability and toughness? I live in a hilly, high-milage-to-the-store part of America that spends a quarter of the year buried under heavy snow. I need something that I could hop in, turn on and not worry much about it being broke during an icestorm. Something that is to vehicles what a moose is to the great white north; reliable, tough and unphased by the elements. I don't care about going fast. I care about getting there. Without paying for a military humvee. Wat choose?
>>1144first choice would be an off road motorcycle. if you're looking for a car I hear that Land rovers are awesome.
>>1133I don't even know what suspension an old Mustang has to begin with, but probably not. It would likely have a geometry completely different to modern suspensions. Shock absorbers have advanced a lot in the intervening years, too.Tires might be pretty easy to find. I don't know. I don't know what size wheel's you'd have nor what sort of compound you'd need. But it would cost money. Maybe not much money, maybe a lot.>>1144Toyota Hilux.
>>1161>hiluxThis.
>>1178fuck yeah hilux. i was so pissed off when my dad told me he was trading in his hilux for a lesser, 2 wheel drive ute.man i miss that old beast...
>>1144If you need/want a sedan sized car I hear the police sell their old Crown Victorias to the public and that they're hella sturdy.
>>1161>>1178.. This seems adequate. Thank you. :O
>>1181What was the replacement?
>>1195Holden Rodeo. for foreigners i belive its some kind of Isuzu elsewhere
Apparently the Hilux isn't exactly common in Murka. They do sell the North American counterpart, the Tacoma. Though a brief look on the internet tells me that the chassy is like.. inferior. Or something.
>>1210Ouch, man.>>1217In all honesty, the Tacoma doesn't sound bad. It doesn't have the mountain of mythology backing it up that the Hilux does, but the two do have a few features in common (similar frame design, many of the same engines, still a Toyota), so it might be worth looking into.
>>1238Yeah. That is a pity. I really do respect a vehicle that can take that kind of pure abuse and keep chugging along. For roughly 18K the Tacoma Babby Size doesn't sound too bad. And add in some of these babies, I'd never need to fear winter again.
