What program is this?
Whatever it is, I want it.
It would appear to be just called "Pokemon Online".Here's a link:http://www.pokemon-online.eu/
Holy fuck, this shit is sleek. Why do people still use Shoddy.
>>8729Are you saying in comparison, Shoddy is...SHODDILY MADE?
>>8729Shoddy is open-source.You can't swap between the abilities of Pokemon in Pokemon Online if you're running it through Wine.I just wanted a Heracross with Guts. ;_;
HOLY TITS. You get to have a trainer sprite, win/loss phrases, the interface is super sexy, AND you get boxes to store spare builds in?Christ in heaven, where has this program been all my life, I'm in love.
All these players have their default messages set to 'gg'. It's practically insulting. Why would you be so bland willingly?
>>8741Is that just the default people are too lazy to change.
>>8742No, the default is no message at all. They either went out of their way to be bastards, or just reflexively type 'gg' at the end of each battle.WHY. At this point, it doesn't have any value anymore. IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING AT THIS POINT. It's just etiquette, but they don't meant it. It's a lie.
>>8748Are you implying that etiquette was ever anything else?
>>8748Maybe it was a good game.
>get challenged to a double battle >"wait this thing has double battles?!">opponent is using all legedaries>say "fuck-it lets do this">Win
>>8768>Opponent has entire team of hacked shiny legendaries>Still winHell to the yeah, motherfucker.
fuck you gradamit
>>8822I'm the best
Working on making trainer files for the TF2 fighters. I don't know what the hell I'm doing in fights but managed to beat an Uber team as Soldier. And if you're in-character, Soldier is definitely the most fun to play on those european servers...
>>8823Sup Grad?
>>8883before anyone begins I'm not a staler, I swear.
>swept a team of ubers with a jynx of all things what?
>>8885There are a few ways to tell an untalented player in Pokemon:* If their team consists entirely of legendaries or pseudo-legendaries, especially one of all Dragon-types* If all their Pokemon are shiny* The very instant any Pokemon on their team uses Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn, or Frenzy Plant. These players are usually cake to take care of, though the paint-by-numbers teams can still be trouble, rookie player or otherwise. A lot of the high tier Pokemon simply don't take a lot of skill to use.
>>8886>A lot of the high tier Pokemon simply don't take a lot of skill to use.Which is why I figured they were high tier in the first place.
>>8886But my shiny Slaking knows Giga Impact. Why do you hurt me so? ;_;
>>8897Slaking is slightly more acceptable with knowing Giga Impact. Mine knows it, too.
I am very new to all of this, but I am having a lot of fun already, even if I keep losing all the time.Rule of thumb after playing for a while: The more obscure the pokemon, the harder the imminent rape. Except for Scizor. Fuck Scizor.
>>8899I see how it do homey. I see.
>>8900Fuck. Scizor.
Actually, the Slaking I usually use is a Choice Scarf revenge killer...Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Earthquake. Used to know Punishment, but I almost exclusively used that on Latias, and now she's been booted back to Uber tier, so I'm not sure what to replace it with.Probably Sucker Punch. Maybe Pursuit.
>>8903Sucker Punch. Definitely.
>>8900>>8902
FUCK STEALTH ROCK, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM USES IT
>>8919This. It really should get banned this sort of play.
>>8919They should just restrict Stealth Rock to the Uber tier or something, because really if certain pokemon are banned in each tier, the same should be for moves maybe?
>>8941Didn't they want to do that to Rain Dance.
>Flyguy called Blissey back!>Flyguy sent out Skarmory!"...You're a bad person.""lol how?""YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID.""D:"
>>8959A Powerful Alliance?
if you guys are really that disturbed by stealth rock get a pokemon with rapid spin
>>8961fer relz
>>8961Stupid Rapid Spin, always getting rid of the spikes I sacrificed so much to get out.
>>8961Oh, for fuck's sake...You know I'd be one to quickly jump on this. With Deoxys in a Speedo gone there is absolutely nothing that can just throw down a speedy Taunt and put a stop to this move.Since you've heard this all to death I'm going straight to the point.Getting rid of Stealth Rock is kind of impractical seeing as how few pokémon get Rapid Spin and especially in the advent of Platinum we see a lot of Rotoms floating around blocking our spinning.Common Arguments for a ban on SR1. No other move hits everything (with the exception of not hitting Magic Guard Clefable).2. Hardly punishable. There's often some way you can punish a pokémon for using a certain move, but in the long run you really cannot.3. Minimizes the pokémon that can be played (Moltres, Charizard, Yanmega, and Ho-Oh taking 50% is huge) allowing certain pokémon ex. Scizor to run rampant.4. Ease to set up. Brongzong having only one weakness, can be used by super fast pokémon like Areodactyl too.5. Hard to get rid of. Not too many pokémon carry Rapid Spin and many are stopped by common Ghosts.Destroying the Counter Arguments1. Taunt the SR Leads:If you do manage to Taunt a lead then they'll probably just switch back in later to set up SR when they have a chance. In October any Bronzong had nearly a 70% chance of holding Stealth Rock and I am sure that is just going to rise seeing as it is a practical SR user. But "Infernape and Heatran" can stop Bronzong, this is true, but what Bronzong would be staying in on them? Seeing as it only has one weakness it could come in later and just set up.We all know how fast Azelf is and many sets carry a Scarf, so it will be difficult to stop.2. Focus Sash users would be Broken:Not when Spikes could be used and Sandstream/Snow Warning covers most flyers/levitators.Let's not forget about Choice Scarfers and priority moves especially Fake Out, which would easily handle anything on its last HP.3. Skymin would be Broken:Actually a Stealth Rock ban would open the door to more of its counters such as Regice and Zapdos would survive longer against it.How many Skymin would be happy to switch in on a Moltres?4. Gyarados and Salamence would run rampant:If you are worried about Focus Sash variants read #2. Salamence and Gyarados still get easily obliterated by an Ice and Electric move respectively.Let's not forget about various Scarfers that could handle these guys. I'm theroymoning here, but a Jolly Choice Scarf Areodactyl/Timid Choice Scarf Jolteon would be faster than most current Salamence and Gyarados sets after they have used Dragon Dance twice. There is also (lol) Scarf Electrode. Areodactyl would not be the most practical thing right now because of taking 25% from SR.When a door closes a new one opens up.
>>8981I-it's just a kid's game bro..
>>8987Look. All I'm saying is this:If OHKO moves and Double Team/Minimize can be banned universally, why the fuck is Stealth Rock so fucking special?
>>8988Because those moves rely too heavily on luck to make a huge impact on the game.Stealth Rock always does damage.
What if I don't fucking want to use Bronzong or Heatran or Infernape or Azelf or any of those other turds? Every pokemon, every SINGLE one, is placed in tiers based pretty heavily on how they relate to Stealth Rock. How much damage do they take, can they use it themselves, are they fast enough to use it for realz, can they rapid spin it away. That's messed up.And don't even get me started on removing luck to make things more fair. If I can clean out a whole team with Guillotine then obviously God Almighty wants me to advance in the tournament of the moment.
>>8990Okay. How about.Instead of getting hurt by Stealth Rock.A Rock type Pokemon EATS the Stealth Rocks. Then it's easily rid of like Toxic Spikes.
Also. Why are rocks on the ground hurting birds? And levitating things?
ITT
>>8992They're specifically described as stones that float, man.
>>8981You know, reading it like that, I have to agree with the clause.
>>8991Or we can just leave out the damage multiplying and make it a version of Spikes which can't get stronger but hits everything (but Magic Guard Clefairy).>>8994A better question is how if you send them out once they can stay up indefinitely even after the Pokemon that used them leaves battle or faints. That's an alternate nerfing: limit how long it's out to either a set number of turns or until the user leaves battle.
>>8961In that same vein, if Double Team is such an issue, have a Pokemon know air slash.OHKO moves? Ghost type with LevitateThat leaves, what? Two Pokemon for you?
>>9002You mean a Pokemon with Sturdy.Ghost type with Levitate can still be delivered chilling misery by Sheer Cold
>>9002Exactly, the game has moves to deal the sort of tools that abuse double team.
>>9004No one wants to use moves that don't kill in one or two hits though.
>>9003Sheer cold...Always forget that one.
>>9006It reduces the body temperature to absolute zero.
Hey, this is kinda fun.
>>8886ALTERNATIVELY:They've been playing for a long time but haven't bothered to memorize the ins and outs of a kids game, don't know what all this EV/IV business is about, and got confused when presented with a way to create their own Pokemon (something completely alien to those who have only played Pokemon normally rather than on some homunculus of a battle program).
>>9021Maybe I should've said 'inexperienced' instead of 'untalented.'
>>9020have we battled before?
>>9025I only just started playing a few hours ago.So... maybe?
WHO ALL IS SIGNED ON RIGHT NOWI want to fight some plus4bros.
>>9028yo
Call me crazy but I like it better when people are scrambling around in fear of my lanturn.Clefable needs a patch and I really hope that exploit doesn't get written down anywhere.
I can try out prospective alternate Pokemon.Maybe I CAN use Rotom instead of Marowak. It certainly seems to be going over well on PO.
Gonna talk Anonex into making a server for this instead of Shoddy.
>>9031What exploit are you going on about?
>>9033for god's sake keep marowak, teams with DP legendaries make me puke and yes rotom counts
>>9037...According to who?
>>9038According to Jim
>>9038You know what I mean, he's a member of the glorious last-twenty-or-so-numbered-in-DP master race, chosen and most beloved by players and the game makers alike to have all the cool moves and highest stats.
>>9040Just his appliance forms, though, right?
>>9041The vanilla version certainly doesn't see much use, I did notice that.Rotom's not that bad as a concept, if a little unfairly powered, but if you've got the stones to keep a Marowak on your team I don't see the appeal in taking a step back to Safetown.
>>9043It's mostly that he dies before doing anything.
>>9044Marowak really is best saved for a Baton Pass team.Unless you're willing to pass around Thunder Wave and Stun Spore like a motherfucker.
>>9045I had a Scyther, but someone threw a rock at him and he died.
All the Little Cup trainers have Munchlax and Bronzor going on.
>>9048Yeah, they're pretty annoying too, my paras can usually take care of business though.I feel weird saying that
>>9048little cup?
>>9071http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/little_cup_guideEverything you need to know.
I wanted to see if he was ever going to try anything else.
lets all go to Pokemon dream team so when we play there's more of a chance we will run into each other
>>9204>server just jumped from 20 to 75 people
>>9206>>9204Er... where, exactly?
>>9218well then we'll go to mysidia
