How about a help thread? Just a general tip and advice thread since Pokemon can be fucking complicated and we don't know everything about it, and people will be asking a shitbunch of questions anyway.

I hear most of you are men/women of wealth and taste. Considering I have no intention of ever going into online battle, do you have any moveset recommendations for a Platinum Lucario?

No.3535
>>3531
Aura Sphere
Shadow Ball
Dragon Pulse
Psychic

Have him wear Choice Specs, an item found in the Celestic Town Pokemart in the morning. It only lets you use one move until you switch out, but it boosts special attacks by 50%.

Does Technician effect Double Kick? Or any multi-hit move, really?

Yes.

Technician makes Double Hit Ambipom great for breaking Substitutes.

Substitutes that aren't made by Ghost-types.

Guys, I can't decide what to do next.

I have an entire team of level 30 Pokemon, my story team, but I just traded over some Pokes that I wanna add to my team and now I dunno if I should GRIND THEM FROM LEVEL 1 up to 30 or if I should just keep the ones I have now...

My old team is:
Croconaw, Flaaffy, Nidorino, Meowth, Noctowl and Snorunt.

My new Pokes are;
Scyther, Beldum, Torchic, Horsea and Gligar.

I dunno if I should just switch out my entire team for these fellows or what... augh, decisions!

No.4653
>>4527
I'd use that Torchic just because Blaziken gets no love. And if that Beldum is the one that Steven gives you in R/S/E, then use it because Steven Stone is SO BEAUTIFUL.

Really, though, it's nice to have some backup muscle in case you come up against something your regulars just can't handle, and it isn't like you can't switch back if you find you don't like the changes you made.

(Although you really want to have that Torchic.)

it depend on how many badges you have. there is nothing more annoying that having a party full of super buff traded pokemon who suddenly won't listen to you because they went up a level and you don't have the right badge.

i would maybe grind one or two of them but keep the party mostly as is.

No.4677
I have two teams.

My current conundrum is whether I should condense them into a single awe-inspiring team or leave things well enough alone.

>Team 1
Toxicroak
Ludicolo
Dunsparce
Mismagius
Marowak
Linoone

>Team 2
Swampert
Torterra
Zapdos
Rotom-C
Ditto
Leafeon

What's a good place to grind my pokemon before the Elite 4? Victory Road takes fucking forever, and it's not really suited for my Ampharos and Typhlosion.

No.4733
>>4677
Team 1 is pretty alright. Team 2 seems...awfully messy. I'd keep them separate.

>>4717
If it's just levels you're after, Victory Road is more or less your only choice. Alternatively, you could always leave ALL your money with your Mom and just grind like a motherfucker against the Elite Four themselves. No better practice than the real thing, huh?

I gave my Growlithe a fire stone last night, it gained a level, and nothing happend. What do?

No.6686
>>6684
Use the fire stone on him, not give it to him. Like go to items, select Fire Stone, use Fire Stone, select Growlithe.

No.6692
>>6686

That did the trick, thanks!

No.6693
>>6692
Same goes for almost all stones. The only stones that your pokemon has to hold are the oval stone and the everstone.

No.7476
which HMs do i need to get through mt. silver? i'd rather not waste one of my slots on a HM-slave.

No.7477
>>6693
What's funny, if you make Pokemon hold the stone they need to evolve, it doesn't make them evolve.

What are all the phrases that can appear when a Pokeball is thrown? All of them, from the message saying that you actually threw it, to the "shoot, it was so close too!" to the "[blank] was caught!"

It's all about WHERE the stone is I guess...

But then again we really don't know much about how certain items are "Held"

I think it's a specially designed necklace thing for more oblique items, personally.
