“And every night before interrogation the Gordanians would stick their xylphyms in my flazgazt repeatedly for a long time. I am not sure why they did this, some kind of ritual of their people”

“They were fucking you, Starfire”

“No friend Raven, you are mistaken, they never put their xylphyms in myforslig so…”

“Oh brother”

A short animation I've made, sponsored by one of my site's subscribers, a new format I'm trying out, rather than put stuff behind a login barrier I retain the "membership" part but instead give them points to fund animations, this is the first one to come out.

The green dude's texture and the way Starfire's legs are posed look pretty distracting, and the animation looks stiff and unnatural. I think you should use proper reference

Green dude. Okay, that's a valid point, it's a different kind of shading altogether.

hentaikid's animation has looked stiff and unnatural since he started, it's kind of amazing how little he's improved in that regard

I would've kept the reference angle instead of the one you used, it's too low and it's hard to read on how she's placed.
Still, interesting project, keep the good work.

Yeah with all the constructive criticism I get, it's amazing. I either get "awesome, here's 20 bucks" or "Die in a fire u suck". And I can't exactly go post in Cgtalk to get feedback.

Matched the guy's shading. It made more of a difference than I expected. If you'd posted that as a comment on my site I'd give you points, but unfortunately I can't tell one anon from another here.

>>73007
Different angles I can do, a member just funded a bit more so I'm working on another view and position. See low res wip pic attached.

>>73019
It seems less is more, people prefer a simple loop with no variation, throw in a bit of panning to camouflage it, and presto...

3d tends to "die" if it's not moving so I tend to try to move a lot of stuff so it won't look stiff. I'm open to suggestions for better ways to do it...

making sure everything is moving is the first step to a convincing animation. Since the fact is: everything is moving all the time. I've only made a few loops personally, but the loops i made i constantly reviewed and tweaked. until it seemed logical that what I was seeing was actually longer than the 2 seconds of animation I made.
like make everyone do something they could conceivably be doing once or twice every interval of the loop. of course longer loops work better, but have bigger file sizes.

Welp here's a fixed version of the first one, see if there's any improvement to the whole ineffable roboticity of it all.

Being that the original series is TV limited animation I should probably try to move things the least possible, really.

No.73141
Hey HK!
Nice to see you are still doing your stuff. And I, for one, see a lot of improvement.
Great job!

Interesting... last night I posted on my site a couple of test animations of the other camera angle. I noticed I'd neglected to stamp my url on them but figured what the hell.

So today I notice those two (But not the larger, better quality gifs I've posted here that do have the url on them) had been uploaded to the rule34 site.

People hate urls on images, but if there's no stamp it just becomes "stuff found on the web". It's a catch 22

that's not the point, but thanks for reading, I guess.

Anyway, they got the early version which is a lot shorter and lower res, this one's better. And has moving hair.

The iron man celshaded series went with non moving helmet hair and they probably were right to do so, the more things you start moving the more you have to keep track of, though sometimes you can get away with automated dynamics. But in something like the teen titans cartoon more often it was stuff like hair or capes that moved even if the characters were still.

Anyway I won't be posting anymore here, but if anyone wants to repost anything relevant from there be my guest, and feedback is very welcome. I have some /co related stuff on offer like Blackfire or Harley Quinn that might get made in the future, if someone funds it.

Cel-shaded shows like Iron Man might be a good thing to try to do sometime, even if just to see if you can mimic that style. 2D stuff like Teen Titans seems like it'd be harder.

cell shading is lame anyways IMO. put a dark noisy specular map on that shit, and have a sub-surface scattering material and that'd look boss. Get that nice conflict of realism signifiers on a stylized design.

Only 39.95 with the current offer of points until the end of august, there ain't no one offering semi-custom animations cheaper! Lucky I have that sweatshop of Philipino workers actually doing the work for me.

I'll probably feed her a sammich though, her design is practically a stick figure...

Hash's Animation Master?! No shit. That's the first program I used to make 3D stuff like 11 years ago. Shit was so cash, and by far the best piece of animation software I've ever used. Lacks power and versatility when it comes to the actual modelling unfortunately.

what you could do if you wanted to share the models is to export it as an obj or 3ds. it'll loose all of its rigging, but do you really want people who don't know what they're doing fagging up your artwork on poser?

No.73627

I can't remember what his ea forums name was because he commits e-suicide every 6 months or so but this guy was also a regular I've kept track of

I like to think whenever I get a particularly venomous yet ingenuous flame it's one of the e-a kids coming back for old times sake. That place had energy, pity it's all lost to the bitrot.

I've been thinking of jumping to a new app, maybe blender if they fix the interface as promised for 2.6 but hash is like an old glove at this point. I'm still using the 2006 version, tried last years and wasn't convinced to move to it. I've been burned in the past upgrading their software, I still miss some of the options in the early versions.

I once made an account on the old E-A forums, made a mistake and said something very stupid, and was mocked mercilessly for it. I never logged on again out of shame, but for years afterward I kept following the forum and practically everything that several of the people on there ever made in a way that, looking back on it now, was really creepy and makes me wonder what the hell was wrong with me. I don't believe I ever did actually work up the courage to try talking to them ever again. It's kind of a funny flashback for me to see that some of these people are still around.

Anyway, I wish I could give you some kind of constructive criticism on your work, but 3d art really doesn't appeal to me at all so I'd be at a loss on what to say.

I don't feel particularly restricted in modelling, I just get the feeling Hash is gonna go out of business soon and I probably shouldn't be married to their software. Also they still can't handle multicore rendering...

>>73776
The secret is I don't like 3d much either but I like drawing inbetweens even less, I can draw but drawing 12 times to get one second just isn't my thing. See old attached gif for example

EA was a small forum with some really interesting people. After their flames I get really disappointed with the kind of lame hur durr PAUNCHs I get most of the time. People saying they like it is nice of course but if I just wanted praise I could get more posting Po-ju dojinshi on /h

There's two types of feedback I like, stuff that tells me what people see is wrong with a pic or animation so I can change it and really well crafted flames. I still remember the Rev's "It looks like it was made with a spastic on ms paint" or Sak's "It looks like a quadratic equation in drag". If you're gonna try to hurt my feelings, don't insult me by assuming it's going to be easy :)

So 3d isn't really your preferred medium and 2d is too labor-intensive. If you don't mind my asking then why did you decide that this was for you? A porn artist lacking in work ethic. Shocking, I know.

What is the world coming to. :)
>>73936

It's the same medium, just different production techniques. Stop motion, drawing, 3d, it's animation. If you'd ever hand drawn 57 frames of some character doing something and then had to redo them because it looked off you'd appreciate the wonders of technology like I do. And don't get me started on colouring.

Plus with 3d I can reuse animations like so
>>73518

As for why porn, I like porn, and I really don't have any non porn stories to tell (Though there are some sci fi books I'd love to adapt, but that's never gonna happen)

Plus, easy money, yes. I never made big cash but back in 2002 especially, it was really easy, unlike most artists I've actually studied the online adult biz , it's been quite an education and right now I'm working on mainstream web stuff that I couldn't have figured out if I hadn't had the training wheels of running my site.

Anyway I admit before I had a cavalier attitude about my porn but recently I came to the conclusion that of all the things I do in this life this is probably the one that's gonna be around the longest after I'm gone, so I might as well make it a worthwhile legacy.

>>73969
The hair movement (And the boobs) is just an automated dynamic constraint, that's why it bounces so high - there's a collision and it jumps up - you like it but other people get really bent out of shape over something like that "Argh what's wrong with her hair!?" and it's like I'd come to their house and murdered their dog.

I don't mind but it makes it hard to tell when the feedback is worth listening to, you know? :)
