Thoughts:
-This move blows all the other OP movies out of the water
-Nami is sexy
-Ussop is oddly pale
-Shiki's an utter bastard beneath his silly exterior, his fruit is absofuckinlutly-hax
-The Strawhat Mafia is shortlived but awesome, they should bust out the cannons more often
-Luna appears strong with this one

I've not really said anything that hasn't been said in more detail by others long ago.
The most important thing I can say is watch it! Watch it Now!

OKAY! Had to wait for my dad to properly wake up to watch it and now

BIG DOC HAL'S BIG TWO CENTS
I'm still not entirely certain if we're embracing this as canon or not, I mean chapter Zero was the way of fitting it all in right? you may wonder "wait but with everything that's happened it couldn't possibly fit" WRONG! Just tuck it between the end of Thriller Bark and before they meet Caime. So yes, If there's a Consensus let me know.

MONSTERS: They were all awesome in scope and design, I especially liked the Bullet Bulls (which is what I'm calling them because they took off like bullets when attacking Sanji and Usopp)

MAFIA TIME: Big damn smiles on our faces the whole time, wish those outfits were more permanent because they were awesome.

FIGHTS: with the crew this size it's hard for them all to get some proper showtime, I kinda wish Nami could have used her Climatact in some way to help Luffy win and Robin to do something to that Pervy Gorilla (MOM?!) but I honestly can't complain because damn was it fun to watch the crew in action.

FANSERVICE: There was enough of it. just the right amount... especially when Nami was putting on her super short daisy dukes. Dat Ass indeed Baby-chan!

MUSIC: HAL WANTY SOUNDTRACK! HAL WANTY SOUNDTRACK! HAL WANTY SOUNDRACK!

FATHER'S RESPONSE: He's 53 years old, reads comic books, watches cartoons, and digs anime as much as I do, One Piece in particular. He loves that unlike American cartoons and comics the characters in anime and manga are allowed costume changes. He also loves that despite the fact that she's shows are marketed ultimately to kids they don't treat them like idiots and the story reflects that wonderfully. His personal thoughts about the movie, he thoroughly enjoyed every last second of it.

OVERALL: Movie 10? GET'S A 10/10! The Action, pacing, story (especially how well it fits into the ongoing canon) art direction, voice work, gags and the like all fit together seamlessly for a wonderful and entertaining 2 hour presentation. Is it the best of the 10 movies? Honestly, in my opinion? that's a big yes.

Only complaint is that Robin didn't get to do much and was incapacitated rather easily by that gorilla, but I'll allow that second part if only because Sanji's fight was so goddamn awesome.

you make sure the .ass file has the same name as your video file and keep them in a folder together.

Make folder "One Piece"

Put the video file and the subs files in there. (Extracted from the zip folder of course.)

Rename the files so that they're the same (example; One Piece Movie 10.mkv and One Piece Movie 10.ass)

Although I am really tired of Nami getting kidnapped and then crying like a bitch. Guuurl walk it off and stop dressin like that and maybe this wouldn't happen. I did want to put it in Robin though, that sweater is not a dress but I really couldn't bring myself to complain.

It's probably because the movie writers are just lazy and falling back on old anime cliches. In Strong World it actually led to an interesting story and a nice display of character development, but the earlier stuff that didn't have Oda involved was probably motivated by, "Hey, Nami's a hot chick. >Oh yeah, I talked to the Funimation booth about the status of Strong World. One of the booth workers said that they do not have the movie but it was only a matter of time, since it's One Piece after all. And according to Funimation President and Founder Gen Fukunaga they are currently in the middle of negotiating the rights to the movie with Toei. Negotiations are going back and forth, said Fukunaga, and Toei aren't the fastest of negotiators, so there is no clear answer to when we can expect a DVD release of Strong World. But with active negotiations occurring I think it is quite obvious that it is indeed only a matter of time before we have our own copy of Strong World.

>Now I wish I'd had the presence of mind to ask them if they were going to be releasing any of the other One Piece movies within the near future, or if there are any plans for this. I wish even more that I'd realized who exactly I was talking to at the time. When I saw his name I remembered that he was someone high up in the company, but I didn't realize he was not only the President, but also the founder! I'd easily rate this a 6.5. It was a fun watch, but not what most people make it out to be. Oda should stick to manga.

Oda mentioned early on in production that he created this with a kid's appeal in mind, and I honestly saw that throughout the entire thing. Some parts were cliche and just should have been cropped off (I'm looking at the bird girl and her "sick" family, though that got resolved pretty neatly). And I'm pretty tiered of the chick getting kidnapped thing. I noticed parallels to enies lobby and robin.

Did anyone else find the scene where nami chose to side with shiki after the strawhats were defeated boring and hammy as lukewarm shit? I mean she obviously went with him because he was gonna massacre them. Why didn't anybody say anything? Franky was gonna, but no.

The battles were too short lived. Shame, given that Dr. indigo's attacks were really awesome. Also it felt like they didn't do "fanfare" justice. It could have been inserted elsewhere.

awesome soundtrack though. the daft green track is make'n sense.

Out of curiosity, how old are you?

No.10005
I think it is a very weak argument to let a film off the hook simply because it is a child's movie. Hayao Miyazaki's films, for instance, have met great reviews from established reviewers (which are most certainly adults) and have even been subjected to film theory.

Toy Story 3 is a recent example of an excellent children's movie. It was made for kids but adults, for some reason, is drawn to the progression of the plot. It speaks on both levels.

I believe that if you are going to make a film, you should give it your all, no matter who the intended audience is.In the case of Oda's new movie, I was not disappointed, but I don't think it's his greatest movie.

No.10006
>>10005
... It's Oda's only movie. I fail to see how this is any more childish than the manga. Really. Because Nami got kidnapped by a pirate who wants to use her strengths? Oh wait, he did that in the manga too. Because there were sad bird people being tormented? Derp derp Skypea time.

No.10011
>>10006
it's not that it's childish or anything to that effect.

It's that it was just bland in the plot and not as stellar as everyone mad it out to be. I mean skypiea is really great when read through in it's entirety, as opposed to a chapter a week. But it's rather saddening that the movie was plagued with all these cliches and run of the mill things, like they could have just gotten the usual fare of movie writers to do this.

I thoroughly enjoyed movie six, but may it's because of the art, or because the director had a hell of a lot more experience in cinema (girl who leapt through time and digimon the movie) than oda . There is difference between a hefty comic to a 2 hour film.

Least you were being sarcastic. Either way, my two cents.

No.10030
>>10011
Movie 6 was indeed awesome but it just wasn't containing the element that made it One Piece. Luffy just didn't seem like himself. Strong World, however, was my favorite of all the movies. First of all, I just loved how hax Shiki's fruit was. I loved the fact that Nami was willing to sacrifice herself to do something useful instead of the sucking of Enel's cock that went on in Skypeia. Shiki was close to destroying every village in the East Blue. The admirals had trouble with him because of all that shit he probably pulled on them. Luffy had to use the lightning to do his Thor Hammer. It took the entire crew to even stand a chance against him.

The difference between Movie 6 and Movie 10 can be summed up in one word.

TEAMWORK.

6 was interesting because it broke up the team, and gave us a look into the mind of Omatsuri, the dude who lost his. An example of why teamwork is important, by showing what happens when it's not there.

10 is interesting because it's a celebration of what happens when the Straw Hats work together to fuck up everything in their way. An example of why teamwork is important, by showing how awesome it is when it's there.

Yeah, you can tell this was written after Oda started getting more interested in team battles: although the minions go down individually, Luffy doesn't get a final boss to himself: every big plan and fight is done with practically the whole team (even the final attack used half of the crew.) I'd say that Movie 6 is a better film, but Movie 10 is much better as part of One Piece. 6 honestly didn't take advantage of the Strawhats and the odd One Piece world nearly as much as it could have.

I'd just like to add that I don't think Luffy has ever looked more awesome than when he was fighting Shiki while wearing the remains of his mafia outfit. I can't say exactly why, but there's something about bringing down Gold Roger's old rival in a tie that's unbearably awesome.

ALSO, I had a thought!

Dr. Indigo went down like a punk to Zoro in the movie, but there's a very good reason why.

For maybe the first time in the whole series, Zoro didn't have a single handicap.

There's teamwork in movie 6! It's just with the super charming movie characters.
I think that movie 6 is far more emotional and dark than Strong World, but I think to a certain extent it's good, in a movie, to get something you don't usually get in the series.

Mr. 1 was a tough opponent for sure, but Zoro was still fighting in top form. He didn't have a handicap as much as he had a challenge, unless you think of his difficulty in learning the breath of things as a handicap.

Technically the only fight Zoro was in that had no handicaps at all was his fight with T-Bone.

guys, the movie was something Oda wrote for the fans, that's why there were a bunch of throwbacks to it and it focused mainly on the crew.

it's not about the story, cause the story alone is pretty weaksauce. Overall i'd say it's a 9/10
