The people don't greet each other with a typical japanese greeting, but instead use heso, which sounds a bit like hello. This is also the word used for a person's navel. Japanese children are told fairy tales where they must cover their navel when they hear thunder lest their Storm God take it away from them.

Eneru's designs are based on Buddha, Japan's Storm God Raidou, and the white rapper Eminem.

The designs of some of Eneru's Priests are based off of old Hanna Barbera characters. See if you can recognize a few of them.

You know, while I'm glad that some voices aren't nearly as annoying (such as Luffy) in the Funimation dub, I miss some of the voices in the 4kids dub; namely, I really enjoyed Sanji's accent, it fit him well. His new VA is rather... vanilla.

You know, I just realized that Duval reminds me a bit of Hokuto no Ken, just the way he dresses and stuff. It doesn't help that Sanji's knives apparently had "Hokuto no Ken" engraved on them.

I think they found a good match. What I really like is that Eric's giving his attacks the same enthusiasm the Japanese VA does. You watch Sanji fight in Japan, he calls out his attacks with FEELING! "COLLIER! GIGOT! MUTTON! SHOT!" And it's the same thing with Eric Vale. The problem with the 4Kids actors is they either had a stupid accent or they were only capable of expressing one emotion. David Moo had both problems. He had a stupid Brooklyn accent AND he sounded perpetually bored.

Eric's kind of bland when speaking normally, but he excels when he's Calling Out His Attacks.

Nami's player is one of those sneaky rogue players who never stops being a sneaky rogue.

Chopper's player is someone's younger sibling who tagged along.

Robin's player is that one girl who writes over 1000 words of backstory for her character.

Split panels indicate a change in time or location. The greater the number of splits, the more that time/location changes. They are in reading order, too, so little panel pieces on the right mean "panning over" to the current location, while on the left it means the focus is shifting elsewhere. Up to down is the same thing, but used less often.

Read chapter 514 for a good example.

I think I've figured out why I like Vivi as much as I do: she acts like she's from a more serious shonen manga, like Full Metal Alchemist or something. She's used to crazy powers and weird creatures, but it's the characters' behavior that really throws her. That's why she's always so confused by the Strawhats and their extremely unorthodox modus operandi.

Also, I just have to appreciate how she just jumped out of nowhere plot-wise. "Oh look, a Team Rocket analog. Hey, there they are again. Hm, it looks like there's something vaguely important about the Jessie analog, but... Wait, she's a princess? And now the Strawhats have to protect her? How long is this storyline going to go on?!" That sort of thing happened a lot right after Reverse Mountain.
