I call for a Franky appreciation thread, because the most 'Merikan Strawhat needs some more appreciation.
My favorite thing about Franky is that he's a full-grown adult, which really accentuates his weirdness. I mean, all of the Strawhats have their own personality quirks and goofy behaviors, but they're in their late teens, so that's to be expected. Franky's thirty-four. He doesn't have an excuse.
Franky is a man's fucking man who don't take crap. He will also cry at the drop of the hat. The fact that he's without argument the manliest looking amongst the crew creates this bizarre duality that makes it more of a quirk than a deep philosophical meaning to what makes a man.
>>9259I was going to say that I thought Robin was in her 20s, but then I remembered; she's the normal one.
>>9272She's weird too, just not in such a manic fashion.
>>9272 She's normal on the surface but dark underneath, not even talking about her unfortunate life but her sense of humour, outlook and such.
>>9264MR. FRANK!
>>9277 Big woop.In the manga when she considers zombie dogs cute and says the worst that could happen in a situation is they all die horribly with a small smile is what's more a representaition.
>>9278That was only in the manga? Yeah, that's sort of a running gag that she's always nonchalant about dangerous or macabre subjects and finds thing most people find scary cute.
>>9279 Dunno, but the play scene is definatly only in the anime.
She also casually points out that Zoro is alive during Skypiea when he was fighting the sky sharks, because if he weren't, the clouds would be red with his blood.BUT THIS IS A FRANKY THREAD, YOU SUPER IDIOTS
>>9281 ...Suddenly, Franky-Robin Thread? You should post more Franky if you don't want that to happen
I don't have much of either actually apart from group shots.Have my only Franky.
Another great thing about Franky was how much his simple existence shook up the setting's already-warped technology level. I mean, by Water Seven we had already gotten used to machine guns and rocket launchers and even weird dial-based stuff, but a CYBORG? That's just too freaking crazy! This is supposed to be some sort of pseudo-historical setting based off of the Age of Sail, and all of a sudden the goddamn Six Million Dollar Man is strutting around.
>>9284All the more reason to be immensely anxious to see just what is in the New World
>nobody posts thisWhat are you, a bunch of faggots?
>>9296The page was posted in the chapter thread, so anyone that didn't use a crop/edit version of the page would get a "no duplicate" error.
>>9296I have a burning need to see this in color.
>>9284My favorite part about Franky is that Oda put a hint of realism in the one place where it stands out and makes it weirder. All of Franky is cyborg now. All of him, except his back. Because obviously you can't repair your back with cybernetics if you CAN'T REACH IT! A-DUUUUHHH.
>>9299That's kind of a recurring theme within One Piece, really. Everything's this big insane mess with gonzo superpowers, superhuman humans, talking animals, and anachronistic technology. But when you look closer, it all has a jarringly logical internal consistency, like how Nami's Clima Tact uses actual meteorological principals to create localized weather patterns.
>>9299>All of Franky except his backI dunno, I'd imagine he left his genitals in tact too. I can't imagine any man getting rid of their genitals.
>>9301he was also a teenager at the time of building himself so that's when his genitals are most important.
>>9302Which makes me wonder: what did Franky look like when he first rebuilt himself? I mean, I don't question his mechanical wizardry, but given his state and limited supplies I find it unlikely that his first attempt was as impressive and organic-looking as his current body. I imagine that when he first returned to Water Seven he looked like a walking, bloody scrapheap and had to continuously upgrade himself over the years as he grew. I'd like to see Franky's intermediary forms.
>>9303 Just think about all of the physical pain Franky suffered.
>>9304Both by being hit in the face by a speeding train and a rebuilding himself with rusted out hulks.
>>9303Yeah, I've always tried wondering exactly how much of his original body is left with all the cybernetic upgrades he's applied; he has his back, his gentials (or else Robin would've never squeezed them), and I'd imagine he's still got all of his vital organs. But his arms are obviously all mechanical. Having a hard time thinking up what else there could be.
>>9306Is his chest covered in skin, synthetic skin, or skin-colored metal?
>>9307Probably a combination of all three. His back is obviously still skin, and we can assume the IMPORTANT cannonballs are still natural, since, Robin. But his chest opens up to put cola in, and his head withstood a metal pipe without the skin tearing, so that may be metal. And he can pull of the skin on his right hand to use Strong Hammer. And yet... he can bleed.HE CAN BLEED.FRANKY IS A PARABOLA OF MYSTERY.
>>9308I suspect that he has a layer or two of skin (with blood running through it) stretched over metal. Logically, this skin would occasionally be torn away by attacks and reveal the armor beneath, but since injuries don't usually work that way in One Piece, it doesn't.
You guys have gone this far and nobody has saidSSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAyet? For shame
>>9264Dat bulge..The lack of sexy Franky time around is truly a crime.
>>9309Here's another question, then. Franky has been shown firing Weapons Left multiple times, yet has never been seen needing to reload.WHERE ARE THE CANNONBALLS COMING FROM?!
>>9440I thought Weapons Left shot orbs of compressed air. It's his shoulder thingies that shoot cannonballs.
>>9441His shoulders shoot MISSILES. Weapons Left is cannonballs, and Coup de Vent is compressed air.
>>9440Well, back in the Thriller Bark Arc Franky demonstrates a side ammo loading dock in his arm, seen here with a belt of monster killing ammo looped through his arm.
>>9444 That could just demonstrate his arm cannon is capable of firing all different kinds of shots though.
>>9440They come from his manly resolve. Also, Cola.SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPA
So you like Franky, huh?Go watch episode 2 of Marine A Go-Go. Shit brix.
>>9635Unless it's about cyborg penises.. I'm not watching.
I fucking loves me some RANKY!!!
Franky is officially spookier than Brook in every way.
Franky is my favorite StrawHat. Going through water 7 I was like "Who the hell is THIS stylish dude? Woah, THAT'S Franky? But he's so SUUUUPER~!" The dancing and music in the anime only cemented it. However I was ridiculously sad when I thought "Oh darn, too bad he's not a principle character." Then I realized they NEEDED a Shipwright.... and then I realized he looked EXACTLY like Luffy's drawing all the way back at the start of the arc. Oda you loveable bastard. He needs way more moments to dance. Hell, just put him and Brook in a room together and brace for SUUUUPER~ YOHOHOHOHOHO.
>>9994>and then I realized he looked EXACTLY like Luffy's drawing all the way back at the start of the arc.Exactly? Now I wouldn't say that.
>>10004Moreso in the manga.
>>10007If you say so.
>>10008He has Franky's hair, nose, pointy chin (which the anime turned into a tongue for some reason) and arms. He's also tall, even though he's not quite 5 meters.
>>10008> Giant Nose> Giant arms> Giant Chin> Spikey Hairdo> Sunglasses eyesOkay, he may not EXACTLY look like Frankie, but it's remarkably similar in those respects.
>>9635I have seen this.... but how is it relevant?
>>10014> Kintama
>>9970
>>10019YOU SON OF A BITCHOH HOW I LAUGHED
>>10401It took me a moment.And then I was terrified.
>>10401well, i'm not sleeping tonight
>>10401...what mind would even produce such a thing?
>>10412it should be spinning the other way
>>10412Oh God I keep clicking it but it won't close. The file won't close! It just keeps spinning!
