I was about to comment that the boobage in those scenes was more than a little distasteful.

I... I'm not sure how to react to this implication. Granted, it makes sense given the context, and given Robin's background I don't see it as something that would "break" her... But I thought that something like rape just flat-out didn't happen in the world of One Piece, at least as far as the story itself was concerned.

That aside, this whole thing was ten minutes of fuck yeah Robin. Reacting to torture with Bondian comebacks, taking out an entire firing squad instantly, and making a grown man shit himself through the power of her reputation alone? Now that's the Devil Child for you!

Let's move past this unhappy subject and focus on what's really important: the Usopp segment's beautiful use of slo-mo. Zack Snyder would be jealous.

Why of course, Every female character was raped!
Robin was raped repeatedly since she was a little girl because in order to protect herself she became part of numerous evil organisations, made up of very very bad people.
Nami had to do horrible, horrible things to get the money to save her village, her molestaition in the shower by Absolom was nothing new to her, and hey let's just say Arlong used to rape her for the hell of it,
The Three Boa Siste-. . .
Hurm. . .
Okay now those three might actually have been, you don't really buy three cute little slave girls to clean or cook. . . and the way they reacted to thinking back on it even years later. . .

Do you guys get so wound up over everything? Do I really need to explain myself? Jesus.

Let's take what I said.
>It's the gratuitous boob shots in this episode that lend the theory credit. Whether it happened or not, seeing guys push and kick a girl around with her boobs out kind of sends a message.
Perhaps what I should have said is,
"The gratuitous fanservice in this episode was in poor taste, because the imagery of a half naked woman being tormented by men holds cultural connotations of sexual abuse. This was likely not (though one can never be certain) the intended message intended by the production staff, and it is likely a coincidence that it coincides with the rumoured interview (which at this point is not proven to exist)."

Are you happy now?

>Not it doesn't. Well, it does, but not the message that 'hey she was raped'.
>Fanservice doesn't really mean shit.
Would you guys like me to cite some reputable cultural theorist on the depictions of women and sexual acts throughout history? I'm betting it was an oversight on the production staff's part in an effort to show some skin.

Don't put words in my mouth young man. That was never what I said.
Perhaps I didn't word myself correctly the first time around, but I'd rather not write an essay for what I meant to be a quick comment. I assumed people would gather what I meant from the context of the conversation. I was wrong. Sorry 'bout that.

But that's fine. You're clearly not taking this personally at all.

despite your verbal overcompensation his point remains valid that with a world government that has been shown to be corrupt, and a woman with exposed breasts in a prison it is reasonable to suspect that they took advantage of the situation.

Though sometimes it's fans who get retarded notions into thier heads, like believing Luffy had sex with Hancock on thier voyage together.
