Ace you idiot. You stupid, stupid... goddamnit. If Dadan dies because of your "herp derp I must face teh enemeez" issues I am going to be 300x angrier with you for not learning your fucking lesson and letting Akainu troll your dumb ass.

well, no one knows what happened to ace between that final showdown and the time when he catches up to Luffy except that he joined with the whitebeard pirates. also, for all we know Sabo and Ace didn't meet up again between that time so a lot of things are possible.....

Kuma was an ex-revolutionary who went out of his way to save his ex-boss's son (possibly on his own or on orders from Dragon). This is why he kept improving his offer at Thriller Bark (everyone dead>Luffy dead>Zoro dead>Zoro hurt) and why he saved everyone from Kizaru by sending them to places they could improve or where the revolutionaries had some influence.

Mythical Zoan, Dragon type, which may or may not have wind powers similar to how Marco has the ability to turn into blue flame, and heal wounds, only his powers would be less about healing, and more about using weather to fuck shit up.

Also, when Blackbeard takes his power too, (and trust me, if it ain't him, it'll be some other HAX zoan big bad,) it'll mean he'll have the ultimate Zoan fruit, the ultimate Logia fruit, and the ultimate Paramecia fruit at his disposal. And seriously, how cool would a final boss of a dragon whose wing beats shoot out earthquakes, hurricanes and black holes be?

in the panel before, there was a spiral of lines around the guys head, which usually indicates winds. I think it was dragon. Dragon controls the wind, and through the wind, he can move storm clouds in from elsewhere, which would explain rogue town.

and if its a paramecia wind and not a Logia, that would be rediculous. Wind is an element, and all the elements we've seen so far have been logia. Anyone who says that would be too overpowered needs to consider Kizaru.

No.8118
>>8116
There is no proof that Dragon can control the wind, it's goddamn "Loguetown", and there have been storms there every time the story has passed through.

You're making a lot of assumptions.

Based on Smoker's reaction I've always assumed Dragon does wind.

Also no need to be so aggressive, sir.

No.8129
>>8118

Nami mentioned that the storm seemed unnatural, and Nami feels the weather in her goddamned bones. Somehow, the weather worked perfectly in Luffy's favor, to the point where Smoker wondered out loud if some higher power was helping him escape.

I mean it's not a sure thing, but it's a pretty fair guess.

No.8130
>>8124
>>8129

still, it could've been Ivankov or Kuma; and the weather working exactly to luffy's favor can be explained through Buggy raising the sword, thus making it the highest metal point in all of logue town during a storm, or sheer luck. Hell, Roger himself got helped with a storm during that Shiki fiasco

No.8132
>>8130

It's not just the lightning. Nami said that the storm itself was coming in unnaturally fast. The rain put out Moji's attempted ship burning, and wet the gunpowder of the Marine unite guarding the ship. The wind changed to give the Merry a tailwind. A huge wind blast cleared the path for Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro to make it away from Smoker.

The weather was on Luffy's side in a lot of ways at Loguetown.

No.8137
>>8132

still, with Oda who knows if that is significant towards Dragon's power or not

No.8138
Also every time Dragon appears, there's a change in the weather. Every time. The wind starts blowing the day he's in Edgetown. I agree that the fire path was probably a Hell Wink, mostly because air feeds fire. I strongly suspect that he can only move or alter existing weather formations, so the Buggy lightning bolt was probably guided by Dragon, but not created by him.

I say Marguerite as a special envoy of her highness Boa Hancock, since she cannot leave her people. Her mission is threefold.

- To protect the beloved of her highness from enemies
- To protect the beloved of her highness from the vile vixens on his crew
- To teach the beloved of her highness the means of harnessing Haki

But if she so much as looks at Luffy in anyway that would be considered lewd or lusting, she should expect a fate worse than execution!

But Hal, you say, what could she possibly bring to the crew?

WELL I'LL TELL YOU!

- We'd have another long range specialist (if we can have two types of swordsmen), that will be able to damage Logias.

- she'd even out the chick count some.

- again, someone to teach Luffy how to use haki (and potentially Zoro and Sanji as well.)

No.8145

This is just like when everyone thought Camie would join.
She's just not weird enough.

No.8146
>>8144
It's pointless to have her on the ship if she doesn't have a goal of her own. Yes, it would make sense, but it wouldn't work thematically.

"...to become the King of the Pirates!"
"...to become the world's greatest swordsman!"
"...to create a map of the world!"
"...to become a brave warrior of the sea!"
"...to discover the All Blue!"
"...to discover a cure for all sickness!"
"...to discover the secrets of the past!"
"...to build a ship that crosses the Grand Line!"
"...to fulfill a promise to an old friend!"
"...to watch after this guy because my boss told me to."

See what I'm talking about?

No.8148
>>8141

I'm thinking it'll be Jimbi, but Sabo might join up later. So then we'd have a fishman and someone related to the world nobles in the crew as well.

No.8149
>>8146
I can't remember, when Nami first met up with Zoro and Luffy at the beginning, did she tell them her dream?

If not, then I see no reason why someone without an outright stated dream couldn't join the crew. I don't know if Marguerite would be the one I vouch to join, and certainly not the tenth, (There are nine people in the Strawhats, but Brook is only the eighth CREWMATE, meaning we have TWO more to go.)

No.8150
>>8149
No, and neither did Robin, so you have a point there.

I still say she's not weird enough, though, either in personality or in fighting style. Other than being extra-friendly with Luffy, she doesn't really have anything to set her apart from the other Amazons. Some of the Strawhats caught us by surprise (Chopper, Robin, Franky), but they were all very distinctive characters from the beginning.

My money's still on a fishwoman grandma.

No.8151
>>8150
Robin was the only member who surprised me.

I argued for ages with some idiot who assured me that Paulie would be the new crew member, not Franky, and Chopper was too cute not to join.

No.8152
requirements to being a strawhat:
1. being a pal to luffy (Boa, Margueritte, Jimbei, Camie) good start, Perona is immediately out.
2. be able to fight (Boa, Margueritte, Jimbei) Camie can't even walk, so unless she turns 30 then I don't even see her as a potential member
3. have a skill that is useful on a ship or something Luffy wants ()

so, most likely we'll just get someone new at Fishman Island. Probably a fishwoman(note: different from mermaid) and it'll be nobody we've seen before.

No.8155
Didn't Jimbei promise Ace that he'd protect his little brother though? I think he'll at least stay around through Fishman Island, maybe join up temporarily like Vivi did.

No.8157
>>8152
Being a pal isn't always necessary. Robin wasn't and neither was Franky, until push came to shove.

No.8158
>>8145
Weird enough? When the hell was that a requirement?

>>8146>>8149
We learned about several of the crew members dreams AFTER they joined so there's something there.

>>8150
"YOUR BALLS! LET ME SEE YOUR BALLS! ARE THEY TRULY MADE OF GOLD?!"

I never let anything cloud my judgment, I picked of the available choices, Marguerite, as she was the most logical choice.

Boa needs to do damage control for her actions in the war and needs to keep her Warlord status to protect Amazon Lily.

Caime has always been a ridiculous choice.

Now more than ever, Jimbe has to bust his ass protecting Fishman Isle, since Whitebeard is dead anything under his reign is fresh territory to invade, that includes Jimbe's home man, he'll go down there with the Strawhats, but he ain't comin' back up with them.

NOW! If Sabo is still alive and he's still a pirate, and he has some real talent then yes. But right now all we know is that he's got a dream, he's got talent with a bo staff, and he just finished setting sail.

... Oh god that giant sea monster that bit off Shanks arm is still there, Luffy had to punch him in the face when he set sail. OH GOD SABO, DON'T TELL ME YOU GET EATEN BY THE LORD OF THE COAST!

Anyway, since Sabo is in limbo and the other obligations are very very important, Marguerite made the most sense given the facts.

BUT! I personally believe that some new character will be introduced and we'll all be demanding he/she join instantly.

No.8160
Well, let's look at it this way: who/what else do they need on the crew?

A fishperson would be good because they lack a strong swimmer. Maybe someone with some sort of knowledge of the New World/Marines/Nobles or something like that. Barring that, are there any basic ship's crew positions that they haven't filled yet?

No.8161
Considering that Brook brought nothing except "he amuses Luffy" and having an epic dream he had to achieve (in fact, by your logic he's really a liability, as they have to rescue yet another fruit user from the water) I don't think there's a point to figuring out who the next Strawhat will be through what skills they need.

No.8162
>>8160
Franky and Sanji have both shown themselves to be strong swimmers

No.8163
>>8161
Oh come on now, you're reducing the hell out of Brook's usefulness.

His musical skills have the power to affect enemies in unexpected ways.

His light body makes him the most agile member of the crew, hell he's even able to run across the surface of the water!

Really we just need to see the fellow in action more, it's a shame that right after he joined they met up with Kuma-Droids, Axe Sumo, and ADMIRAL BEAMSPAM

No.8164
>>8163
Well, yeah, they know that now. But Luffy literally knew him for 2 minutes before he asked him to join. And later they decided he should join them after hearing the Laboon story, not because of his combat prowess.

And like you said, he hasn't shown his skills enough, we don't really know what he's fully capable of yet.

No.8166
And he's a musician, and Luffy had been talking about getting a musician for ages.

Don't suppose someone wants to go through the manga and see if anyone mentions any positions that haven't been filled yet?

Let's see...we have captain, swordsman/first mate, navigator/cartographer, sniper/lookout/ammunitions expert, cook, doctor, archeologist/historian, shipwright and musician. So we've got people in charge, weapons, matinance, food, entertainment, someone to tend to injuries, someone who knows where they're going and how to deal with weather conditions, someone who knows stuff about where they're going...

Ummmm...cabin boy?

Or I guess someone who knows stuff about the New World, but Luffy probably wants that to be a suprise. Someone who used to be in the marines or even the revolutionaries might be useful, but I think they'd need more than that.

No.8167
>>8166
Helmsman is the popular theory.

No.8168
>>8167
Seems like kind of a useless 'official' position, it's not like they need one guy with skills specifically for that role.

No.8169
>>8166
Robin is their local library. If anything, she should learn about the New World, instead of having somebody basically replace her as the scholar.

No.8170
>>8167>>8168
... You know there's a reason there's such a position as "WHEELMAN" in crime moves. Often played by Jason Statham

Because sure, they can sail, and with Nami navigating they can survive. BUT IN THE WILD AND STRANGE WATERS OF THE NEW WORLD YOU NEED SOMEONE WITH LIGHTING FAST REFLEXES, AND UNSHAKABLE NERVES.

You need someone who can respond instantly to Nami's orders, and someone who can read the waves as well as her.

This is why I think that if we get a Helmsman it should be a fishperson who also brings to the crew Water Manipulation, super strength, faction representation, and if it's a chick, again, balances out the gender quotients.

No.8171
>>8170
>BUT IN THE WILD AND STRANGE WATERS OF THE NEW WORLD YOU NEED SOMEONE WITH LIGHTING FAST REFLEXES, AND UNSHAKABLE NERVES.

Isn't that, like... all of them? I doubt anybody can read the waves as well as Nami can. That's her thing.

Eh. Just "some fishman" isn't weird or interesting enough. I like the idea of Sabo, but no other character so far has sounded like a good tenth.
